There is another issue, line 47 in your ldr file contains

1 4 0 -96 270 -1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 -1 3037.DAT.DAT.DAT

instead of

1 4 0 -96 270 -1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 -1 3037.DAT

so slope 2x4 below the crane doesn't appear in LDView or LDCad.

another question: which are the differences between “540 - Swiss Villa” ( http://peeron.com/scans/540-3/1/ )  and “356 - Italian Villa” ( http://peeron.com/scans/356-1/1/ )? was that a similar situation mentioned previously here?

540-1 = USA; 356-1 = Europe, Australia, Canada.

Two markets, two numbers. It’s more globalized nowadays but there’re still sets that aren’t available worldwide (e.g. asian new year sets), or not at the same time.

It seems the same case, Brickset for the 540-3 reports "US version of 356-1".
Note that this kind of approach is quite common for old sets.
