FettJango Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Yeah, he's one of the more expensive minifigs. Are you going to use camo waterslides, like from Fine Clonier, or just regular stickers? Why not a 212th to go with the 212th airborne trooper? Clicky Why not a 212th to go with the 212th airborne trooper? Clicky Oops, I meant to quote Kiel, not Brickdotor. Oh well, you get the point. XimenaPaulina Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Why not a 212th to go with the 212th airborne trooper? Clicky Yup, that is one possible application of the AT-RT driver helmet, I will also look into doing that. But I'll make the more popular Kashykk AT-RT driver first. Quote
LuxorV Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Slightly off topic, but is that tag just for minifig customizers in general? I'd always assumed it was for contest winners. Or is it for exceptional work like the MOC Expert tag? The tag is for those who prove interest and dedication to the minifig customisation world, especially when they provide original content. Oh, then thanks again LuxorV! Very much appreciated. You're most welcome! It has been too much since I last gave some of this tags (known also as "Customisers' badges"), and so I made up for it in these days Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I will still try to experiment if I'm going to use regular sticker or waterslide, but for sure I'm going to make my own design. I'm also deciding if I'll do this one or a camouflaged one, or both. Come to think of it, is there a camouflaged AT-RT driver? I haven't seen any image of one yet. It's actually a CW ARF trooper from the movie, but Kaminioan used the AT-RT driver helmet. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 It's actually a CW ARF trooper from the movie, but Kaminioan used the AT-RT driver helmet. So my initial hunch was correct that there is no camouflaged AT-RT driver, so that I will be doing that standard non-camouflaged Kaskyyk AT-RT driver. I will also look into doing the camouflaged ARF and the Geonosis-camo ARF in the future. Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Very Nice! But how did you make that custom pauldron Commander Fordo wears? It has that extra ammo clip or something on it. Quote
Solscud007 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I think it is either paper or custom fabric. See here, the ARC pauldron. http://www.mmcbcapes.servaus.net/design.php?oid=205229&menuid=pauldrons&submenuid=all&designid=2205 Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Very Nice! But how did you make that custom pauldron Commander Fordo wears? It has that extra ammo clip or something on it. I just used ordinary bond paper for Fordo's custom pauldron (and for the other ARCs as well). I just designed it using simple MS Word. Quote

If you need help with he decals, use those decals. Thanks for the offer, but I may not be able to do this yet since I've already converted all my four ARF helmets into Lightning Squadron, I will have to order another batch from Arealight to make these camouflaged ARFs. When it's time to do this, I'll let you know or The_Customizer if I need any help on the custom camo decals. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) Here's a couple of additions to my custom SW minifigs: new-look Ahsoka and Keelyvine Reus from my JSF Collection V2.0 MOC at the SW forum. Ahsoka in new CW outfit: Made with a combination of spray paint and sharpie. Keelyvine Reus: This is my first attempt at designing decals. Arm prints were spray painted and detailed with sharpie. Updated the first post. Edited December 4, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Loving the new figs KDM! Is that your decal for Keelyvine Reus? I really love Ahsoka's new out fit! You have done a nice job with sharpie(?) and decals, creating it. Keep it up! CF Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Excellent work on both of those Kiel Quote
Baylego Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 These are really cool! You really are the sharpie master Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Ashoka looks sick! She could use some new head gear but it looks good the way it is too. Quote
Darth Yogi Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 These look Great, especially Keelyvine Reus. The sharpie job looks very nice, but is sharpie.(It will look good for a while, then the sharpie will fade away, and then it wont look so good. Thats what happened to me with some of my old creations) Great job anyway Quote
General Magma Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Very nice job on all of those! I hope to see more from you soon. ~ General Magma Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Loving the new figs KDM! Is that your decal for Keelyvine Reus? I really love Ahsoka's new out fit! You have done a nice job with sharpie(?) and decals, creating it. Thanks CF! Yup, Keelyvine's decals are my first attempt at designing decals. I think it turned out pretty well, I just have to use a better printer and water-slide decal next time. Awesome, Ashoka is really cool. Thanks Stardusty! Excellent work on both of those Kiel Thanks commanderneyo! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Nice job on those KDM! Keel- Kele- that lady's decal looks really good. I still don't like Ahsoka, though. But at least she put some clothes on. Doesn't it ever get cold in a galaxy where buildings are big enough to have their own climate? Quote
prateek Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Noice. I really like that EU Jedi. I don't know why, but I struggle making skirts like this. Quote
Oky Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Wow, those two look great, KDM, especially Keelyvine! I knew that head would work great for her, even though that smile is technically out of place since she never smiles. And I'm not a big fan of that skirt; I think leg decals would be better. Now I really want to make one of her for my own! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 These are really cool! You really are the sharpie master Thanks Baylego! I actually want to refrain myself from doing sharpie, I know water slide decals are much better, but I'll get there soon. Ashoka looks sick! She could use some new head gear but it looks good the way it is too. Do you mean she's not feeling well? (Joke!) I didn't change the headgear since her new horns are just slightly longer. Maybe I'll change it when it becomes 'Shaak-Ti long'. These look Great, especially Keelyvine Reus. The sharpie job looks very nice, but is sharpie.(It will look good for a while, then the sharpie will fade away, and then it wont look so good. Thats what happened to me with some of my old creations) Great job anyway Thanks for the comments darth yogi! (See my reply above regarding the sharpie). I do sharpie mostly when I'm in a hurry to finish up a certain custom minifig. When I have the patience to do water-slide decals I hope my customs will improve. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 Very nice job on all of those! I hope to see more from you soon. ~ General Magma Thanks General! I'll try to have some more custom figs soon. Nice job on those KDM! Keel- Kele- that lady's decal looks really good. I still don't like Ahsoka, though. But at least she put some clothes on. Doesn't it ever get cold in a galaxy where buildings are big enough to have their own climate? Thanks Doc! Yeah I agree it's a good thing that they finally dressed up Ahsoka in a more 'kid-friendly' attire. Wow, those two look great, KDM, especially Keelyvine! I knew that head would work great for her, even though that smile is technically out of place since she never smiles. And I'm not a big fan of that skirt; I think leg decals would be better. Now I really want to make one of her for my own! Thanks Oky! It is you who I have to thank since you were the one who 'introduced' me to Keelyvine. And I also got the idea from you to use Poison Ivy's face for Reus. Quote
