lightningtiger Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Still working on this redesign, I have been able to find places for over 75% of the gear in the last MOC which spread across over 70 studs wide if memory serves me correct. I must make all new interior and exterior signage, as most have been damaged in the rebuild plus redesign/resizing of the walls - as you can see in yesterdays post I did save the big sign out the front. Hopefully on Monday (or even tonight) fresh stickering I can then post new shots. Till then keep on waiting ! Just made another adjustment - blue row of bricks along the front raised 2 bricks up in line with the Gas Cylinder Bay sign (that also needs doing again) ! lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 More updates now...... I still have to fix the computer screen and maybe a little more signage. Comments again welcome. Quote
CMP Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I like it, from the slightly angled wall to the garage to the yellow stripes and the sign. Quote
AussieJimbo Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 It's looking great, LT. I like all the tools and equipment you've got on sale. :classic: Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Thanks 'AJ' and 'CallMePie' for your kind comments, I believed that my original BOC was too big for a small country town.....even in it's industrial area.....small might that be. The roadhouse arrangement will be joining this along with a yet planned MOC.....thinking either car dealership or a new tractor/farm machinery one.....what do you think ? Keep on watching ! Quote
AussieJimbo Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I think the tractor and ag machinery dealership would give more scope for various sub models. :classic: Quote

Keep on watching ! Quote
ACCURATEin Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Lots of great details. I'm sure this is very accurate to a real BOC. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Lots of great details. I'm sure this is very accurate to a real BOC. Thanks 'ACCURATEin', actually the only thing missing from a real one is an angled porch for the front door.....hmmm, let me think about it ! Brick On ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Updated interior picture..... Still tossing up if I include this MOC in my train show layout.....space might be a problem. Comments as usual welcome and Brick On ! Quote
Artifex Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Updated interior picture..... Still tossing up if I include this MOC in my train show layout.....space might be a problem. Comments as usual welcome and Brick On ! I could say the MOC looks great, but it actually looks AWESOME! I'm amazed at how you get the spirit of the store and build it with Lego bricks. It feels we are back to the good old Classic Town style, but renewded! Congratz, my friend -- not only for this one MOC, but for all the others too. Quote

Thank you for those very kind words 'Artifex' - I have now decided to include this in my train display, but on the other side of the second crossing - of which I need to make this week. Keep on watching all my MOC's - changes and additions are comming ! Quote
CptMugwash Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hi LT, you never stop do you? I see you've done a computer screen, have you got a shot of it? I love all the details you put into your mocs, for your stickers, it looks to me like you use a matte sticker paper instead of glossy, have you tried both and if so what is the comparison? I've been seriously thinking about doing my own stickers. Also do you use blank templates to design your stickers? eg for the torsos, 1x2 tiles, etc. If so could I borrow them once I get around to getting some sticker paper? and one more, do you use a Lego colour chart to match Lego's colours? Kepp on MOCing Cheers. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 Thanks 'CptMugwash' for your kind words and now that computer screen is a Lego printed tile one, but for the torso's.....in our own EB minifig customize forum there are links to printable torso sticker from which you might have to resize and customize the stickers yourself using the ever so humble MS paint. Good luck and if you need any more advice, please ask. Brick On ! Quote
JasonM Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I must say, I don't post often - just tend to lurk, but this WIP is completely awesome!! As an AFOL I must say this is inspiring! I'd love to be able to find some local stores or what have you and model them myself (I just don't have enough bricks for that yet.) Constructive comments, I wasn't too sure about th eheight rebuild at first, but the more I look at the pics the more it is growing on me. I guess most stores like this, Advanced Auto, NAPA, etc. all have high ceiling heights. So, I guess this is sticking true to real life. Other than that, great build. Definitely love the loading dock...shame it's so hard to find the garage pieces these days. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Wow that is a lovley store LT! It has come on loads since I last saw it (Sorry about that ) . Its really impressive, keep it up! Thanks, CB Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Well, thanks 'crabboy329'.....but now the BOC has been totally redesigned and gas bay gone in favour of more businesses to join it. It now lives in 'MOC - Industrial Suppliers of New Mannum ' ! Again, thanks to you and everyone else who commented on this creation.....and always Brick On ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Quick update, a wall has been added plus I decided to put it back in the original location. I feel it looks a lot better with that extra wall, comments welcome and K.O.B. everyone ! Edited April 20, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 B-OV-30B Does anyone remember this..... Well, I decided to float it on Cuusoo. Cuusoo web page for BOC Gas & Gear Store (Gas Bottle Depot) Not all my Cuusoo's will be bumping up old MOC's. Last post on this one, unless I need to reply to someone. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 This is simply marvelous LT! Another great workshop full of accessories and (as usual ) your beautiful stickers! Quote

Thanks 'LT12V', have you visited Cuusoo have you ? I'm wondering why it's my most viewed page out of 16 published projects, yet only 9 votes.....oh, well not everyone likes the tiger's work then. Edit - answer found - why 200 extra views in a day......FACEBOOK.....BOCONLINE Facebook page. Discovered again I am ! BOCONLINE Facebook page Edited April 21, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) OMG! This was a communication from BOC U.K. via their Facebook page..... BOConline - can you do one of the UK Gas and Gear stores ? Not only do I build an Aussie one, but now a U.K. one too......why not I like a challenge ! Edited April 27, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 (edited) It's been a few days since the last update. A few hours after I receive the first message this pops up on Facebook. BOConline Hi we can send you pictures from one of our stores - once completed can we purchase it from you - how much would it cost How often does someone get an offer like this eh ? I have a basis of a Tradequip outlet in the prototyping stage already, but I might not be able to post images unless I get the okay from BOC since it's mean't to be for a customer. Now that's not a strange thing for me to say as I own a business, but to do with Lego ? Edit - I'm having a little problem, finding good inspiration shots of BOC retail outlets, man....do I need those images ! Edited April 29, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
-zenn Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) From seeing your newer topic, I'd visit this one. Love the detail you put into everything, and also the idea of seperate modules which forming one big store a great one. I've only got one minor suggestion to add to your safety section; goggles. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see some more of that commission. Edited April 30, 2012 by -zenn Quote

Many of their stores are just like this or are transportable buildings. The mega one will have six times the gear as the original 2010 design and be as close as a like-for-like in minifig scale.....keep watching because this is going to be a big project ! Quote
