Hello

I just wanted to add that I was a little disappointed when browsing wikipedia I read that someone wrote that "Minifigs Series 5 may be the last CM series for now". Not considering that in wikipedia only certain facts should be stated, and I luckily found no sources stating that 5 is going to be the last series, I was wondering: I am surely no market expert, but here where I live a box of minifigs goes sold in less than a month. My favourite lego source shop took two of series 2 in early september, and in mid november they were all sold out. Now, I know that lego policy is to change often, but this theme could really go on for a long while, like pokemon or similar stuff (Maybe I am wrong, I repeat, I am no expert)... but being often at that shop I noticed that it happens easily that a child can come in with his parents just to have one minifig, thing that didn't happen with 3/4€ small boxes. Plus, here minifigures are sold also in newsagents', bookshops, I even managed to get one at a selling machine in a shop in the highway rest area... and the fact that they are realeasing more series/waves along the year shows that they rely on selling lot of them. So why stopping them? Ok, after a while the new product can become old and that's a fact... but I mean, at least 3 or 4 years should pass before... or isn'it? :hmpf:

I really would take anything posted on Wikipedia with a pinch of salt. The trouble with Wikipedia is that anyone can edit the articles on the site & add anything they like without moderation. For example, Wikipedia once announced that David Beckham was Chinese! :hmpf:

I don't think TLC can continue to churn these series out at the current frenetic pace without running into some "fatigue" from the fan community. Personally, I'd love to see TLC continue indefinitely ... BUT at a slower pace than 2 or 3 series / year. Maybe one series a year, or possibly reduce the size of a series to only 8 figs.

If Lego take note of fan suggestion and people suggest minifigs that are within certain realms of feasibility then the series could chug along for a while. But as has been said it's all down to consumer interest. there's also economic issues such as various countries taking austerity measures. the minifig collectibles may be the only thing people buy, putting off buying larger sets. I know I've been spending less on sets and more on minifigs lately.

If Lego put the collectible minifigs on hold for a while it wouldn't be a bad thing though. Their business model is cyclic releases of themes and sub themes so it would make sense not to drown the market in minifigs. Bricklink, Ebay and Amazon, various e-tailers and fan trading will see the current range of figs circulating for a long while yet. If you look hard enough you can find anything you want.

All in all the experiment has been interesting and productive. I'm sure Lego have learned a lot from it. And we've gained some rockin' minifigures. win win all round.

Am I the only one who has an urge to customize the werewolf into Mat-Bat from the Batman game?

Wow, good resemblance. All he needs is some wings, a fully brown torso (maybe with a torso decal) and change out that white arm and you're all set.

Cool! I go ahead and deeplink them, if that's okay. The new pieces are looking really nice! BTW, is the footballer's trophy's base a new piece. It's not a fez, and it's not a 1x1 cone...

I think it is the 1x1 cone that comes with the City tow truck 7638: the cones with orange lights on top. :sceptic:

I may be wrong.

Could it be a fez with a 1x1 round plate on the bottom? I just don't see why Lego would make a new piece for a trophy base.

Great pictures! I want them now and I haven't found any series 3 yet.

I wished they would of included a soccer ball with the player instead of that trophy.

Oh well, I guess I will have to order one of BL or just customize one. :classic:

My guess exactly. This way, the fig can hold it and, by removing the 1 x 1 round plate, it can be displayed.

Thanks for the deeplink pics prateek! :classic: I too am unsure what piece is used for the footballer's trophy base, although I think it may be a new piece. :sceptic:

Thanks for the pictures. Seeing the minifigures up close has helped me distinguish the details. I believe that all of the new elements like the skis, potion vial and the rapier are going to make great additions. :classic:

I just noticed the Viking has a dark brown 3L bar!

The skates have little notches on them to keep them from moving around on the foot.

The soccer player has nice gold printing, and the kit manufacturer's logo is a 2x2 brick/plate

My favorite is probaly the sword weilder or whatever i dont know what to call him

1 question though is were do you get these i cant find them anywhere!

That guy is a Musketeer.

Series 4 is coming out in April.

I don't understand why the scientist has white hips. Unless the final figure will have the centre bit painted black. Similarly the hazmat suit guy could do with the black centre bit painting orange.

the pics are great though. the more I look at this series the more I want them.

These pics make the figure look much better! :classic: I'll have to buy that scientist off ebay just for that lab-coat piece and beaker but I'm not too crazy about the face or hair. The hazmat guy is awesome I'll have to incorperate him in some crazy MOC once I get him and I also like the werewolf a lot. :classic:

At first I thought Frankenstein's head was a whole new mold, but with that closer view, I'm thinking it's just a regular minifig head with a very convincing headpiece.

The Musketeer's hat is soooo going on a Captain Hook fig. I might even make it the Animatronic Cook from Epic Mickey!
