Dear Lego,

Please ship enough of these so that my kids can get a few, people here are still walking in a picking up the whole box and buying every single figure. Oddly, I picked up two mimes the other day for $1.99 (sale price) when somebody returned them to the store -- guess nobody likes mimes :pir-wink:

They work great as The Joker's goons.

Who else is thinking that the hockey player's helmet could be used for an American Football player?

That's actually what I thought it was when I saw the first pics online. Couldn't figure out what was in his hand though. THEN I realized it was actually a hockey player.

Speaking of which, you only need green exo-force hair, the space pimp from SP3 and the mime's happy face to get a joker's clone in case you couldn't find the joker in time.

Im surprised they have the wolfman and monster together. I just need a zombie.

I'm not surprised. After all, they had the witch and vampire together.

I AM surprised that there is ALSO a 'mad scientist' in the mix. That's just awesome. Really beefs-up the 'movie monsters' aspect of things that much more.

Still need a Gill-Man (AKA Creature from the Black Lagoon). I really, really want him.

TOTALLY!

That is the one BIG 'monster' that is still missing and I REALLY hope we'll see him in a futre series.

Looks good! Seven must-gets for me in this series: Musketeer, Viking, Wolfman, Mad Scientist, Gnome, Monster and Geisha. Plus all the other ones come with great accesories and pieces.

huh. I have all three of those - I'm gonna have to try that out :sweet:

These look terrific! I love the surfer girl and the football player's hair(more nougat!) and the kimono girl is great. I don't understand what the girl in the blue dress and the blonde hair or the guy on the skateboard are meant to be, though. I love the artist's palette, and the silver trophy. I will definetely pick a few of these up when they come out. Thanks for the picture!

Glad to see you're not using the atrocious "Medium Dark Flesh" Bricklink uses, but you might want to be more specific and say medium nougat. Regular "nougat" has existed for a long time-- Bricklink calls it flesh, and it existed in themes like Duplo and Belville even before "fleshie" figs made their debut.

Just a bit of nitpicking on my part, but if people ever actually learning LEGO's color names (as if...) we don't want misunderstandings. LDD builders already are forced to learn the LEGO color names or at least consult a conversion chart in order to color parts correctly.

Thinking about future 're-paints': that HAZMAT suit could be re-painted in silver for a firefighter's asbestos suit and/or re-painted in white/silver for a different style of spacesuit; the hockey player's a no-brainer...different team colours; ditto with the 'footballer'; gnome hat in red via a proper 'Santa' figure for the end of next year?

Etc., etc.

I see a lot of possibilites here.

Wow... if I want to keep within my budget at all, I'll have to keep some of my Series 2 limits in place. For that series, I only got minifigures that would be useful in my town one way or another (with a few exceptions--I'm still working on making the Mexican and the explorer fit in). I'll definitely try to get the punk, the skateboarder (I hope there will be back printing) and the artist to use around town. Perhaps the hockey player and figure skater, too, so that I can have the minifigures of me and my wife go ice skating. And a gnome. And perhaps the surfer and scientist. Darn, this is going to be tough!

As far as the gnome hat goes, I hope they don't use it for a Santa minifig--it doesn't look much like Santa's hat at all (at least, not one that I've ever seen).

I'm more jonsed about more of these figures than Series 3, that's for sure. There's pretty much none in here I don't want. S3 has a few I actually want to avoid, but not here. Looks like a full set for me. Also, I thought the figure skater was an 80's star before I saw the skates. She's pretty glam.

Now that's how to start a Monday morning! Absolutely fantastic! Must get every one but especially the hockey player as I love that sport (being Canadian could it be anything else?) There are no duds for me this series too which is a relief since I've never once seen these in any store. I've had to buy every figure on-line which means playing the blind packaging game. Not fond of it but it's a must if you truely love these beauties and this time it won't matter how many multiples I get....they're all worth it!

Yes!!!!!!

Finally a Lego guitar!

So many army builders in this series! The musketeer is perfect and finally a Lego rapier! Also: Army of vikings anyone? (Or perhaps a village of gnomes to add to the fantasy elements of the castle line!)

Note: New molds!

1) gnome hat

2) werewolf bone (same as Ninjago bone but still technically new)

3) sailor hat

4) Viking shield is same as spartan shield but printed

5) glass Erlenmeyer flask the professor is holding

6) paint brush and pallet

7) new Frankenstein monster head

8) Guitar!! punked hairdue

9) rapier and musketeer hat!!!

10) Hazmat suit and spray nozzle

11) hockey helmet and stick (not sure if stick is a new mold)

Overall: Thuroughly fantastic! best series yet!

Add: Kimono girl fan and hair

I'm not sure why so many people keep mentioning how the hockey helmet could be used as an American Football helmet and fail to mention the shoulder pads... except for the hockey stick, it IS an American Football player.

As far as desirability goes, I do hope they ramp up production (and not just tweak distribution), as I think there will be a lot of desirables... I agree with WhiteFang it's hard to pick one as the series "Spartan," so many wanted to recreate 300 (for some reason), but you need to look for anything where multiples are wanted, either for armies or teams.

  • Vikings
  • Sailors
  • Musketeers (3 or 4, anyway)
  • Hockey Players
  • Soccer Players

I think this will work out very well for a lot of us, as I'm not into team or army building with any of these (although I want 3 Musketeers), so hopefully trading will be easier.

Although I intent to get a complete set and then some, my "must haves" are the Musketeer, painter, geisha, scientist, and to complete the horror collection Frankentstien's Monster and the Wolfman.

I'm not going to worry about for some time though... still haven't seen series 3 around here.

Holy Jellybabies on a stick! They're awesome!

Just look at the Radioactive Suit guy! And the Guitarist! And the Hockey Player! And that Knome! :cry_happy:

I beter stop there.

Seriously though, they are super! Better than S1!

Wow, they're just awesome! Definitely the best Series of all for me.

I want them all, except a few. Maybe I'll go for the whole set nevertheless.

Best of all, the hairpiece of the soccer dude in this color!

It would seem I'm a little late to the party.

Thanks for the pics, they're looking great! But can't we have one wave where I don't want a small army of one figure? First the Spartans, I haven't even gotten an elf, and now I just have to have a bunch of musketeers and Vikings.

Post over in the "Canadian, Eh" topic, too. If there are other folks in your area, they might be able to help you narrow down the search.

Hmm...I wonder if this means that the 'ice skates' will now make an appearance in system sets?

That would be wicked-cool.

As it is though, I'm going to have to snag a bunch of hockey players and ice skaters, just so I can use the skates on my 'winter village bakery' skating rink.

Also...though I love that new beard and it looks great in white, I think it's about time we got beards in colours OTHER THAN white and grey. Aside from 'stubble' on minifig faces, I think the only fig with a dark beard is Hagrid. Yes?

So I ran a few "statistics" on these figures and it seems Lego has stepped away from the circus "sub-theme". There are a total of 64 minifigures possible with series 4 included and:

13 belong to city/music (test dummy, nurse, skater punk, cheerleader, disco guy, pop singer, traffic cop, mime, rapper, artist, skater ,Hazmat suit, rocker)

8 are historic (excluding the wild west) (robin hood, caveman, explorer, spartan, pharaoh, pilot, viking, musketeer)

8 are sports-based with 7/8 coming from series 3 and 4 alone (skier, baseball, tennis, car driver, snowboarder, skater, hockey, soccer)

8 are classic movie monsters (pretty evenly spread with 4 from series 1 + 2 and 4 from series 3 + 4 (zombie, robot, witch, vampire, mummy, wolf-man, mad scientist, Frankenstein)

7 are beach/ ocean based ( diver, lifeguard, surfer, fisherman, hula girl, surfer girl, sailor)

5 are Japanese culture based (ninja, martial arts master, samurai, sumo wrestler, geisha)

5 are circus, (clown, magician, weight lifter, ring master, gorilla)

4 come from the wild west (cowboy, Indian, Native chief, Mexican)

3 are from Space ( I'm not counting the robot from series 1 as it is a "classic movie monster") (space man, alien, cyborg)

2 are fantasy-based (gnome + elf) This makes me think we will be seeing a lot more in the future!

and of course the Mexican wrestler whom I can't place anywhere reasonable
