MightySlickPancake Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 BTW, does the soccer player have a ball? I dont think so as if you look in this picture there isnt one unfortunatly just a statue and a fez(I think). Thanks, CB Quote
vexorian Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I don't like that the garden gnome has a fishing rod for no reason. Making him look almost like a repeat of the series 3 fisherman. Quote
RoryoCox Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much for the picture. Possibly the best series ever from this picture. The orange suit is brilliant and I love the Musketeer. I think that all these figures will be brilliant. My highlights would have to be the elf, hockey player, werewolf, sailor, viking, musician and toxic suit man. Actually they are all brilliant and this will be the first series that I want to get all of them. What does everyone else think? What is your favourite? Edited December 5, 2010 by Burman Quote
vexorian Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 The Musketeer would be better with a plume in his hat. Turns out he does have one, but it is hard to see due to the sailor in the first pic. So you may see it in the second. Quote
Rick Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Just when I thought they were running out of ideas for these... they come up with this. This series is absolutely amazing. There are so many versatile new part molds in this. Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 An army of Hazmat suits from series 4... Zombies from series 1... I see a zombie apocalypse diorama coming up! Quote
Arigomi Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Turns out he does have one, but it is hard to see due to the sailor in the first pic. So you may see it in the second. Bah, right after I finished editing my original post. The musketeer is looking a lot better now that we can see it has a metallic silver fencing foil. It's clever to add the little ball on the end turning it into a practice weapon. Nobody wants children or AFOLs poking their eyes out with it. Edited December 5, 2010 by Arigomi Quote
Zarkan Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Oh my... these are incredible! So many awesome new acessories and molds, so many great subjects, and even some clever reuses of parts! I hope I'm not the only one who noticed that the Werewolf is reusing the series 3 Elf hairpiece in brown and dark brown. Simply brilliant, as is the rest of this line. Quote
autobrick Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 WOW! Series 4 is definitely the best series yet. So many new pieces... This more than makes up for the lackluster Series 3! Quote
SilentMode Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 This is awesome, I can see myself creating small armies of almost all the minifigures (although for some reason I'm not so keen on the werewolf). But the best news of all: another one of my requests (the kimono girl) is coming out, and she looks good. Quote
prateek Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) I dont think so as if you look in this picture there isnt one unfortunatly just a statue and a fez(I think). Nice pic! Phooey on the missing soccerball though. What kind of soccer player doesn't have a ball? At least we get a recoloured fez and trophy. I'm really liking the figure skater and the hockey player for the skates, and the test tube is looking really nice with the green substance. I also really like the new guitar. It's right up there with 3rd party customs in terms of shape and coolness BTW, does the Geisha have the same hair as the sumo? Edited December 5, 2010 by prateek Quote
Aanchir Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I am very impressed with these, I particularly like the Artist and the guy in a Hazard Suit. The Viking Shield looks beautiful, although I hope that they create a unique head for him. All the head prints are unique. The viking's face looks similar to an existing head print, but the existing print is shouting angrily while this one only has his teeth bared. There are probably several smaller differences, but this is the most obvious. Quote
Cecilie Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Wow, I'm totally blown away by these. Series 3 was actually a bit of a letdown with several figs that didn't appeal to me at all, but this series is just plain awesome. There isn't a single fig I don't like! Now only hoping we will see the hat of the garden gnome in red, so we can finally get an authentic looking santa Quote
Zorbas Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Series 4 looks fantastic! Almost all minifigs look brilliant and the concepts are just marvellous. So many colours... Quote
Haltiamieli Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I was hoping for a better werewolf, but well... it could have been worse too. Certainly it's still better than the old one. Otherwise these look very good. Of course I was hoping that the viking wouldn't have a horned helmet... but I'm not surprised. A printed shield is nice anyway. Kimono girl seems to have a red hair pin printed on the sumo hair. And the figure skater has scarier hairstyle than the mad scientist :P Quote
Etzel Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Really a lot of new parts in this series! I really like the accessories for the artist and the geisha, and the hockey stick is great too. I'm quite disappointed about the Viking though, I had hoped TLG would have learned something and not use a stupid horned helmet. I love that Octan is sponsoring the football team Quote
Oky Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) I hope the scientist comes with an extra test tube. He looks cool, almost like Dr. Horrible. BTW, does the Geisha have the same hair as the sumo? Yes, but hers seems to have some kind of ribbon printed on it! Edited December 5, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Aanchir Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) I don't like that the garden gnome has a fishing rod for no reason. Making him look almost like a repeat of the series 3 fisherman. No reason? I agree that there's no reason he needs a fishing rod, but he wouldn't be very popular at all if he had no accessories to hold. A fishing rod seems to make plenty of sense, since fishing is one of the few "activities" I'm familiar with garden gnomes doing besides just standing there and looking chipper. Edited December 5, 2010 by Aanchir Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 They're all so great, but I'm still loving the garden gnome. Smurf hat, anyone? And that torso! Quote
Athos Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 This looks to be the best series yet. Fans, paint brushes, musketeer hat, beaker, mohawk, sailor's hat. Steve Quote
KristofBD Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Simply amazing! I also agree that this series is probably the best so far: lots of new ideas and good accessories! I like the hockey player (great in all details!), the soccer player, the garden gnome (face, beard, fishing rod), the professor (test tube!) and the Geisha the most, but the Musketeer, the punk (great hair!), the safety suit guy, the surfer girl and the skater also look great. I've never bought more than three figs of one series, but this may be an exception! Edited December 5, 2010 by KristofBD Quote
Broken Bricks Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Of course I was hoping that the viking wouldn't have a horned helmet... but I'm not surprised. A printed shield is nice anyway. I'm quite disappointed about the Viking though, I had hoped TLG would have learned something and not use a stupid horned helmet. I didn't know vikings did not wear horned helmets until I read your comments. Since you are both Scandinavian, I figured you two would be right, but I also checked Wikipedia: "There is no evidence that horned helmets were ever worn in battle throughout the Viking Age, or indeed the Migration period." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horned_helmet) The funny thing is that TLG, being a Danish company, should have known better, don't you think? Then again, how else would people easily recognize the figure as a Viking? I guess they just had to go with the stereotype... Quote
JimBee Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Wow, these are fantastic! I love them all, even the skater repeat. My favorite would probably be the musketeer, that saber is very cool. The gnome also comes with a neat hat, that is the perfect fit for a Link (Legend of Zelda) fig. I'm a little disappointed with the werewolf, though, it looks more like a mutant bulldog. I was hoping it had a special headgear that covered the whole head, although what looks like a new hairpiece is pretty cool. Quote
vexorian Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Not adding horns to the viking, would have made happy the hundreds of AFOLs that want historically accurate things , but most kids would have been disappointed without horned helmets... Even I would. They could have used any other common accessory in garden gnomes. For example, google images' first page for "garden gnome" has many different accessories, I would have liked a pipe. Hinckley Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 oh my god !!! (In French I would say something less polite :D) Thank you for posting the pic here. Much appreciated. Added to the first post and front page. Quote
