Lord Insanity Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Is everyone missing the radiation logo on the hazmat suit? That is a Radiation clean up guy. Perfect for the nuclear power plant I have been toying with building for a while now. We finally get a Cavalier hat for Musketeers and random renaissance swordsman. I am glad he comes with a rapier foil (its the ball tip for safety ) rather than a musket. Adding a spare musket is easy, a period sword not as much. I am calling it now the sailor will be the insane army builder fig. Think about all those huge navy MOCs that need crews. Yeah, this is the first series that doesn't have a "pointless" fig. Though even the "pointless" figs are worth having one or two of to me. Quote
KyleJohnson11 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I am definitely impressed with Series 4. Being a huge baseball fan, I loved series 3 for the simple fact of the baseball player. Being an overall sports fan I am very happy with the hockey player. I cannot wait to make a team and a possible arena for them to play in I just need to start collecting more faces for my hockey team The helmet on the hockey player looks like it could pass for an American Football helmet as well. I see a multi use it for it. Hats off to the LEGO group for this one. I will be getting a complete set and shooting for 12-18 hockey players Quote
prozac Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 this has t obe the best series IMO...first series I actually want all of and multiples of several! Quote
Arigomi Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I've been able to ignore all the CMF hype for the 3 previous series but I am seriously tempted to buy some now. The only reason I've been able to resist is because I've never seen them in stores. Let's just hope that S4 is made in bigger quantities. I have yet to encounter any of the previous CMF series in any stores. Ebay scalpers/speculators keep buying up everything. It would be nice to be able to walk into a store and buy some rather than planning my entire life around when a store gets their shipment. Small purchases like this aren't ideal for online shopping due to shipping costs. Quote
Forresto Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I want four of those Hazmat guys. Perfect for Alien, mutant, zombie, apocalyptic Mocs. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 It's great to see ol' Frankie back and I love the new werewolf. This looks like a nice line-up (although I would like to catch up on Series 3 before I start thinking about this new collection). Thanks for the news and picture. Quote
Erynion Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Sorry to be the pessimist but... bah, I really have no interest in these sports characters. I'd prefer more elves or pre-medieval era warriors (how about an Egyptian charioteer? and a Roman Centurion or legionary?). There are a few half-interesting ones in these set, but I still think I prefer Series 2 over the other three. Although I am looking forward to giving a few of those hockey players as gifts to the fans in my house... Quote
Omicron Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Love the geisha. Love the gnome. Love the figure skater. Love the musketeer. Definately better than Series 3. Also I'm surprised the Soccer player doesn't come with a ball. -Omi Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Posted by muscleman at the Series 3 topic, I though it would be better if it was posted here. Nice views of these figs without any obstructions. I'm right, the skaterboard is printed! And the Garden Gnome really looks like just a shorter version of the S3 fisherman. http://www.brickshel...rie4/8804-2.jpg Edited December 6, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
user Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 AGGGGGG!!! FML series one hasn't even appeared where I live and this new series looks like it's going to be even better than the past ones! Guess I'll have to pay extra on ebay or something. I love the mad scientist, I need a hazmat suit for something I've been planning and the punk rocker looks nice. I also like Frankenstein but I prefer stitches or a zipper to those band-aids but the rest is good. Quote

It also looks like the skater's hat is also printed! And the werewolf, IMHO would be perfect for a "Michael Jackson Thriller" moc or brickfilm! I can't see which would be the Crash Dummy or Traffic Cop for this series, because all of them look great! Quote

Corvus Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Wow. This is the first line that I want all of the minifigs. The flask, the floppy hat, the hazmat suit, the ...everything. I'll have to get back to this when I can type coherently. I'm a little disappointed with the Viking, though. This would have been a great opportunity for a more accurate helmet. Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Dude with the skateboard. my bad sorry, yea i agree... Quote
Globemaster Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 beautiful series! I can't wait for the HAZMAT suit and the sailor figure! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) It looks like the skateboarder's hat logo could be a lego 2x2 brick flying through the air. If so AWESOME! Edited December 6, 2010 by CorneliusMurdock Quote
blueandwhite Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 On the other hand, I can't seem to isolate which minifigure in there will be the next "Spartan" or "Elf Warrior" for the army builders. Time will tell. I think the key difference between series 4 and earlier series is that there are a lot of great figures to choose from in series 4. In the past few series, several figures seemed to be simply thrown in to fill out the line. While everybody clamoured to grab cheerleaders, Spartans and elves, how many people were rushing out for ringmasters, traffic cops and scuba divers? The thing that makes series 4 so amazing is the wide variety of accessories and prints included with each figure. No figure seems to be an afterthought. I suspect that this will probably reduce the tendency to hoard figures as most folks would be happy with all of these guys. Here's hoping series 5 continues this trend. Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Chiming in with everyone else, this is the first series that I will actually buy. Why? Because not one of the stores in my area has ever carried the CMFs, I dislike paying scalper prices for a specific opened minifig online, and every other series had about half "meh" figures and half cool ones, making it a big risk to buy sealed figs online. This series is almost entirely coolness, and has a lot of figures I wouldn't mind getting multiples of. I can order a few of these online without worrying too much that I'm throwing money away on a quartet of crash test dummies. Even the skater boy looks way cooler than any LEGO skater boy I've ever seen. I think the horned Viking helmet is just an example of TLG opting for icons instead of historical accuracy. The "Tribal Chief" headdress is also historically inaccurate, and most artists don't actually wear berets. Anybody else thinking that mad scientist figure would be totally perfect for a Re-Animator MOC? Quote
RileyC Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Based on a second look I think the 'traffic cop' 'scuba diver' of this lot will be the sailor or the ice skater. I think it's cause the accessories that they have aren't unique. The sailor has the telescope piece isn't rare but it's just in chrome. The ice skater has the same piece as the hockey player just the hockey player is much cooler. Quote

Tyrant Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 These all look great. I think the Musketeer or the Sailor will be the army builder since Vikings were previously available, but I could be wrong. There are several I will want a few of. The Werewolf, Hazmat Guy, Geisha, Musketeer, and maybe the Viking. Most of the others are worth having two of them. I like that we keep getting figures that compliment each other. With this we will have another skater (with a printed board) so we can have more than a 1 man skating crew (gang, posse, friends just hanging out, whatever) with a little variety. The same with the surfer. Maybe we will get a female skater in a future wave? The Punk Rocker could go with the Singer, or may be leading to other musicians. Frankenstein and The Wolfman round out the Universal monster theme (I think). The Painter fits in with the Mime for Artists. Maybe we will see opposing teams for some of the sports figures down the road? Persians to fight the Spartans, or Greeks to compliment them? Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Frankenstein and The Wolfman round out the Universal monster theme (I think). Still need a Gill-Man (AKA Creature from the Black Lagoon). I really, really want him. Quote
Tyrant Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Still need a Gill-Man (AKA Creature from the Black Lagoon). I really, really want him. That's the one that's missing. I thought there were 5, but I knew the Zombie wasn't it so I thought I was wrong in thinking there were 5. Yeah, we need that guy now to round them out. If they want to keep it up, throw in Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein. Maybe Igor too. Quote
Hartfan Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Series 4 looks great. I wanna get few musketeers. Im wondering if lego plans to release more than 4 series of minifigures. Quote
