Strand Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Those are some really unfortunate leg piecs and head studs. Quote
Skafte Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I'm a bit surprised LEGO put their logo on this thing... Sure, it might be a well working pen, and you can swap the Jango for 3PO on it, but it's not much of a LEGO product. So how does the pen work? Quote
Oky Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Cool, thanks for those pics. Threepio looks weird only partly chromed, but Jango Boba looks pretty good with that helmet if you ignore the stud. Is it just me, though, or does the helmet sit kinda loosely on his head? One thing that chrome Threepio's head could be useful for is to attach one of these on top of it and have Artoo drag it behind him. Quote
Mr Man Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 The torso, arms, and head aren't too bad, the head could do with some work if someone wanted it to look like a figure. but the legs are the problem. because they are joined up like that it looks silly. I don't know how but if the legs could be chromes then it wouldn't we too bad a fig. Maybe using a chrome pen (like for covering scratches on pipes and cars) and use that on a pair of white legs. I chromed a fig using one of those pens, but accidentally left it out in the rain after a photo-shoot, and it ran. (the paint not the fig ) Quote

One thing that chrome Threepio's head could be useful for is to attach one of these on top of it and have Artoo drag it behind him. The helmet is actually very tight. The peg of boba's head is a smidge too wide for the helmet. So the helmet fits so tight that if you pull the hemlet off, it just pulls boba's head off the neck post. I have to use the pen's metal rod to push the head out. In regards to the pen. It has a short reservoir. You twist the blue cone at the tip and the pen retracts or comes out. Quote
The Legonater Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I was considering getting this mainly for Jango- would that be a good investment, I should I just stick with the Mando BP? Quote

Ritz Brick Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I was in TRU the other day and I saw these Star Wars pens in the checkout. There is another one thats a stormie and tusken raider. I saw the Tusken Raider and just thought, OMG! Until I realized how ridiculous they look. (The Tusken pen printing is the worst thing I've ever seen.) Quote

The Tusken isn't new, but I don't remember him being packaged with the Stormie. Quote
Flare Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Yuck I wouldn't even spend $5 on that, honestly Quote
Extreme Sadness. Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Those abominations look absolutely horrid. I had an Ewok minifig pen like that a while ago, but at least they didn't butcher the Ewok . -ES Quote
R5-N2 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Just disgusting... It's a shame that TLC can sell that sh... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Just disgusting... It's a shame that TLC can sell that sh... It is a pen. I'm sure it works just fine when used as a writing instrument. Yes, it looks horrible for a LEGO, but aren't these made by a Chinese company and not intended for play? Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 It's funny how we have a review on Eurobricks for this "Poor Man's Chrome C-3PO" and none for the actual one Quote
2k gold Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I really want that. I don't know why so many people are complaining Quote
