Question about TS Western Train Chase

Picked up this set at TRU today on sale(and with my free $20 gift card from Call of Duty ) and it came with 2 parts that were never called for in the instructions and not in the part inventory at the back of the booklet:

only they are red. What the "F" are they for? I know all sets have extra pieces, but they are usually pieces that are used in the sets. Can anyone shed any light?

I'm guessing those are used if you want to convert you train to R/C. I might be wrong.

I got those too. I think they are supposed to be for powered train parts. But I have no idea what they are for.

My set is missing one car wheel and Dr. Evil Porkchop's evil hat. need to call Lego support.

They are "blind" wheels. They are used when you want to have three big wheels in a row. Without a blind in the middle the train will no be able to go around the track. It seems TLG mold these as a three wheel set and they decided to give them free instead of keeping them. Have a look at Emerald Night for more details of how the wheel is used.

oine of my bags wasn't sealed and the parts were all over the place. I was scared something would be missing.

Indeed. Western Train Chase in the Set Index is missing it too. I'll add it.
