Posted November 17, 201014 yr Here's something I've been tinkering with off and on for the last few weeks: Here's a black "city tram" in front of the Airport Shuttle 2010: I plan on making a white Airport Shuttle as well; here's a nice way to make a monorail motor shroud in ANY COLOR YOU LIKE: A little fragile, but still works perfectly and is very easy to make - thanks to ChromeBricks for the chrome 2x2 tiles: Enjoy! -CCOOK Edited November 17, 201014 yr by CCOOK
November 17, 201014 yr Those monorails look great! The design is very futuristic and I really like the opening mechanism. Very good job on these CCOOK!
November 17, 201014 yr They don't even look that blocky - see, it is possible! Nice work Bring back monorails I say...
November 17, 201014 yr Nice work 'CCOOK', though I'm not a fan of monorails, I do quite like your creation. Keep up the good work and keep on track !
November 17, 201014 yr Great MOCs, CCOOK! They look futuristic. I particularly like your brick-built motor shroud. Very well done. ~buddy~
November 17, 201014 yr Very nice!! PLus I love the fact you went with the hinged opening. I don't care for the current "snap down" style for the planes and trains.
November 18, 201014 yr Author Very nice!! PLus I love the fact you went with the hinged opening. I don't care for the current "snap down" style for the planes and trains. Yeah I HATE the new ratcheting design on the opening roof sections - more often than not all it does is tear off the roof section or break the vehicle in question. -CCOOK
November 20, 201014 yr Great job bro, We Want Lego Monorail Back !!!!!!!! they shouldnt stop in the first place !!!!!!!!!
November 21, 201014 yr Great use of those trans black windscreens. The monorails look a little more up to date.
November 24, 201014 yr Author A little update; finished the black monorail: New white monorail: What I've go so far: I'll be making a yellow monorail in the next couple weeks and will post photos as soon as it's done! -CCOOK
November 24, 201014 yr I like your white monorail, it fits in well with the other two monorails. Well done. ~buddy~
November 25, 201014 yr I love the design! Can't wait until we can play monorails... just waiting for one to come up for sale atm

Can't wait until we can play monorails... just waiting for one to come up for sale atm one word.....E-bay...... that track is very hard to find and well if any one knows a place that you can still find it for a nice price please tell me.... they are better with hill climbs... normal trains from legos can have a hard time with 6" climbs in less then a foot Edited November 25, 201014 yr by exon_from_youtube
November 25, 201014 yr one word.....E-bay...... that track is very hard to find and well if any one knows a place that you can still find it for a nice price please tell me.... they are better with hill climbs... normal trains from legos can have a hard time with 6" climbs in less then a foot That's what we are thinking. Our attic has some raised beams that will be incorporated into our city layout, but as you say, the regular train won't cope with the raise too well so we were investigating the monorail. Seems they're like gold dust!

November 25, 201014 yr Im sorry but the monorails are expensive everywhere now ($300+). so I would be on the look out for a cheap one on ebay or trade me. best one on ebay in the last two months had 10ft of track parts and no motor.... guy wanted 250 for it and it sold for almost twice that.... But.... 10ft would only cover half of a room layout in my book, I am either going to buy a couple auctions on ebay or just make a flat block rail set up...(when you make it with just bricks alone) that option would be more costly but a lot smoother in the long run. I will be investing about a grand to complete this... I always wanted one like I said before and the cost does not matter in the end for me... This in the only lego set that the 100 piece per $10 does not apply... Some times you have to take a loss to complete a dream in life, right?
