Legoland Space set 6783: The Sonar Transmitting Cruiser

I was going to kick off the Space subfurom with a review of the Solax-1 Lab, but I decided to give the honours to this special model instead.

I first saw this ship in the old catalogue of 1986 as number 3 of the 'Light and sound' series. Number 1 and 2 being respectively set # 6750, a robot with a weird name called 'Roelof' and set # 6780, a more or less black and white version of 6891, a very cool, but rather small fighter. A fourth set (6770), fairly similar to set # 6925, would follow two years later, which closes the chapter of the black and white light and sound space ships. Number five is entirely different, being a black and blue 'Space Police' set, 6781. We

Well, I got this set for Xmas when I was a kid. I just spent countless hours playing with it. First it has ELS system, and second, a modulary design ! The robot did the trick for me, even if liek you mentioned it looks definitly old today.

Thanks for alerting me to this review, snefroe1.

I like this set alot. The modular design is something that newer sets would carry on later in the space theme. This set looks like it would fly to a planet and drop its modules to act as a temporary base. The ELS serves no specific purpose other than play value (as opposed to being an integral part of the set, like in the monorail), but that's ok. I agree what you said about the cockpit, it could use a little modification.
