November 24, 201014 yr Author Even with the overdose of Hoth type sets released, there still could be the Ion Cannon, Rebel Transport (mentioned), shield generator, main control room (mentioned). It'd all come with a good Hoth base, but the 10th anniversary came and went with a bunch of Hoth sets and no base. So I think that moment has passed by for at least a few years. Just with Endor, most of it was just trees and various troops. So there isn't much to make that hasn't already been made. Endor landing pad anyone? Yes, I'm actually banking on them making the landing pad someday, otherwise I'll have to make it myself. This is the set I'm calling for when I referenced remaking Final Duel II. My thoughts on a cantina set, to me the only minifigs they might include would be Luke, Obi, Chewie, Han, Greedo. Thats about it. TLC wouldn't make all those different molds for unamed aliens in one set. You're absolutely right, the appearance of so many obscure aliens in the bar ultimately hurts the chances of a good cantina set ever appearing.

Landing pad which seem pretty dumb imo, it would have to be big enough for the IS. SO lots of regular old bricks=lots of regular old money. and if you only had the landing pad, not much play. You could redo the one scene. Thats about it. TLC could also just recolour space police aliens, or the old mars mission ones.

Redo exsting aliens, toss in the existing SW ones, and I doubt any kid would know the difference. They could make the rest happy with these new molds that can't be missed, like the Bith.

November 24, 201014 yr I would love too see a new jabbas palace I regret not getting the first one the rancor could be like 8962 That would be good, we really need a rancor. Also the the Executor whatever scale would be the Great Great Grandfather of all Greebles , especially if in UCS or system scale.
November 24, 201014 yr Also the the Executor whatever scale would be the Great Great Grandfather of all Greebles , especially if in UCS or system scale. Well not if it was in micro scale like the one in death star 2 it had no greebs

November 24, 201014 yr That was the Executor I thought it was a SD, looked a little to small. Well if they made it even a 10 studs longer and make it bigger the death star would have been really big and expensive....
November 29, 201014 yr That's a great and very interesting topic, StoutFiles! I completely agree with you concerning nearly all sets you mentioned. Nevertheless some changes and additional ideas: Episode 4: Tantive 4 (re-design) with the floor (the most important room seen in the movie) and a minifgure of a black-suited Imperial Officer (not Imp. Captain) Lar's Homestead and Sandcrawler (partly re-design) I regrettably missed the last version of the Sandcrawler Obi Wan's Home and Tusken Raider Attack would imo be better to sold together (because of playability); of course with a Bantha and Tusken Raiders with new head molds Mos Eisley Cantina (re-design) much bigger, more detailed version with many new minifigs (band member(s), barkeeper, Sandtrooper with white shoulder pattern) TIE Fighter (re-design) with grey (instead of blue) stripes and an Imperial Engineer Yavin 4 Base at the best with a re-design of the X-Wing (not a midi-/mini-model!) and many new minifigs Episode 5: Hoth Rebel Base (re-design) much bigger, more detailed version with at least two accurate rooms (control center and medical room) and minifigures of injured Luke and Major Bren Darlin Executor/Imperial Star Destroyer (re-design (if ISD)) with more interior included, seperated rooms, an Imperial Lieutenant and an Imperial Admiral, perhaps even some new bounty hunters (or re-desgins of IG-88 and Dengar) with a construction that does not that simply brake at the best as a 250-260 set to really have it accurate TIE Bomber (re-desgin) with grey stripes (instead of blue), an Imperial Engineer and a transport vehicle Cloud City (re-design) much bigger, much more and seperated rooms inlcuding, many minifigs and minifigs of Ughunauth, silvern 3PO Episode 6: Jabba's Palace (re-design) much bigger, more details and rooms and a decent exterior including and new minifigs (band member(s), new different guards) Jabba's Sale Barge (re-design) since I regrettably missed the last version Imperial Shuttle and Imperial Endor Base (partly re-design) Imperial Shuttle with a gangway and with minfigure of black-suited Imperial Officer (Imp. Captain addionally) Mon Calamari Cuiser (re-design) the whole ship including everything which we already got in the set last year as interior Ewoks' Trap and Ewoks' Village both combined in one set (for more playbility) TIE Interceptor with grey (instead of blue) stripes and an Imperial Engineer I want all these sets as System scale sets. In UCS sets or midi- and mini-scaled sets I'm absolutely not interested. Klaus-Dieter Edited November 29, 201014 yr by Klaus-Dieter
November 29, 201014 yr Also the the Executor whatever scale would be the Great Great Grandfather of all Greebles , especially if in UCS or system scale. Noooooooooooo ! January 20, 201114 yr Author Well, except for the UCS set it seems I got one set on my original list of wanted sets, Echo Base. This is a set I had crossed out because everyone said it was too unlikely...I guess this proves anything is possible! Ewok Attack is at least different than the previous set, I didn't bother to list any of the other Ewok devices because I thought them too unlikely. The Falcon is a needed set but still just a remake. In conclusion, I'm able to cross off only Echo Base from the list, and there are still many sets that need to be made or remade. Hopefully a good UCS will take care of one of these scenes!

January 23, 201114 yr ........ The Lars Homestead might be a better option and would go well with the Sandcrawler. A few more Jawas wouldn't be sniffed at either. Banthas and Tuskens could be doable. Maybe we'll see Tuskens again if the rumoured Pod Racer sets get released. But the Cantina set should definitely be looked into by Lego. It could be modular and sold as separate small kits like the Jabba's palace trio. They could release the main bar with Luke, Ben, Ponda, Evazan and the barman, maybe a couple of extra alien figs. And all the booths around the bar can be extra kits bought separately. A music booth with the Modal Nodes, one with Han and Greedo, and others with different aliens and humans doing their thing or Stormtroopers checking out the bar. That bar is a missed opportunity for Lego. Maybe they don't want to condone drinking. I think a modular cantina set is a freaking awesome idea..... I love this set and the idea of having the band and the bar in separates is great.... Put the main bar at £40 and the add others at £20 a piece and that would be great. I'd be all over a set like that :)

January 23, 201114 yr Hi, I saw your awesome dioramas and I get a new idea. And I think why not. -> What are you thinking about a new LSW diorama line. In every wave one excellente AFOL diorama (that would be two dioramas in one year, understood?). Including OT-dioramas and Prequel-trilogie-dioramas (maybe Death-Star, Endor, Dagobarth, Bespin... what ever). And these dioramas show us scenes from the movies (maybe the Final Duel or the Bespin-scene with "I am your father!" Or Palpatines office inluding Mace Windu, that would be a wonderful diorama. I mean no playsets. I mean really dioramas. I think a new diorama linie would be really GREATE! Edited January 23, 201114 yr by Elander
January 23, 201114 yr These would be pricy with less play value. Not really something I can see happening on a big scale. I want more Stormptroopers. These are awesome but so hard to get. If we can get so many battle droids and clone troopers why not a few more Stormtroopers. I was lucky enough to get 2 Imperial Dropships when it was still out though.
January 25, 201114 yr I like a lot of the sets mentioned so far. My top few would be... 1. Millenium Falcon in system scale - simply because I missed out on the last one and couldn't afford the UCS version. 2. Rebel transport - again in system scale. 3. Tie fighter - it's been said before, but TLG really, really need to re-issue this in grey. 4. AT-ST - I know it's been done a few times and I know the last one was only recently released in the Endor Bunker set, but I'd love for them to re-issue this without any silly walking mechnism. I really hate that! I like the rebel battlepack idea with the hangar transport. That would go well with Hoth MOCs and a Yavin rebel base. Throw in a couple of hangar techs, a pilot with new helmet markings and rebel trooper - could be a winner. Lastly, slightly off the wall choice here, but a Speeder bike in UCS or Technic would be fun.

Yes I hope that's the vehicle in the Echo Base set also coming out this summer. 3. Just do what I did and buy the gray version of the blue parts. I'll upload a pic of it sometime later. Did the same for the bomber and interceptor. 4. Won't happen till the Endor set is out of production, it would kill sales of it.
January 25, 201114 yr Klaus-Dieter essentially locks this thread with his entry above. He's spot on with everything, and it fills in all of the blanks... My only problem is that almost every one of these amounts to a massive set of some sort. I've been lucky enough to have the majority of the system scale OT collection since it began, but have since began to wave off so many of the higher sets... Tantive IV, the new Shuttle, and of course the Death Star, are just too rich for my blood. Those three sets alone are too much, to the extent that I'd feel like I was robbing my own family just for my own hobby. So with that being said, I'd like to address Klaus's list with regards to pricing (forgive me if I put all price speculation in USD): Episode 4: Tantive 4: (re-design) with the floor (the most important room seen in the movie) and a minifgure of a black-suited Imperial Officer (not Imp. Captain). --Wow, if the last one cost $150 USD and we're looking to add more interior room, this thing's going to be expensive. At least $175, and I'd have to pass. Lar's Homestead and Sandcrawler: (partly re-design) I regrettably missed the last version of the Sandcrawler. --I did get the last Sandcrawler, and at the time was the most expensive Lego set I'd ever purchased. It's massive, and a fair amount of work to build. If it were up to me, I'd say lose the Sandcrawler and give us just the homestead as a $40 or 50 USD set. Obi Wan's Home and Tusken Raider Attack: Would imo be better to sold together (because of playability); of course with a Bantha and Tusken Raiders with new head molds. --YES! THIS is a hands-down winner. Again, in the $40 USD range I think this can be everything we need it to be. His little house with three or four Tusken ruffians outside the door with their trusty steed! Of all the sets Klaus-Dieter listed, this is hands down the one I'd like to see released most! Mos Eisley Cantina: (re-design) much bigger, more detailed version with many new minifigs (band member(s), barkeeper, Sandtrooper with white shoulder pattern). -- As far as I'm concerned, to do this set the right way would be to make it huge, and very expensive. I agree with the modular concept-- one major set, the primary bar area, around $60 USD with Luke, Ben, Wuher, Dr. Evazan (sp?) and his partner (previously known as Walrus Man, haha). Then several additional add-on sets, around $15-20 USD each, such as: 1.) The Modal Nodes band and stage, 2.)Greedo's confrontation with Captain Solo, 3.)Cantina patrons, adding in Momaw Nadon's (sp?) table in the movie, and 4.) maybe one more set tying up some of the more important random figures in the cantina, including the Imperial spy. Done well, this could be VERY effective, and would also allow buyers to customize their cantina (for example, make the band stage twice as big with twice the band members, or add on additional bar booths as needed). TIE Fighter: (re-design) with grey (instead of blue) stripes and an Imperial Engineer. --Yes, I guess I could see this. I have multiples though, and would probably skip it. Yavin 4 Base: at the best with a re-design of the X-Wing (not a midi-/mini-model!) and many new minifigs. --I'd lose the X-wing, and just focus on the base. Maybe like the one in the book, with a recreation of the final celebration scene. Either way, this adds up to at least a $100 USD set. Episode 5: Hoth Rebel Base: (re-design) much bigger, more detailed version with at least two accurate rooms (control center and medical room) and minifigures of injured Luke and Major Bren Darlin. --We'll see, as it sounds like this is coming later this year. I'd like to also see a focus on the medical wing, the Two1-B droid, and some more rebel staff. More tauntauns!! I'm guessing we're going to get something in the $100-120 USD range. Executor/Imperial Star Destroyer: (re-design (if ISD)) with more interior included, seperated rooms, an Imperial Lieutenant and an Imperial Admiral, perhaps even some new bounty hunters (or re-desgins of IG-88 and Dengar) with a construction that does not that simply brake at the best as a 250-260 set to really have it accurate. --Quite simply, I FEAR THIS SET. There's no way it's not going to be extreeemely expensive, and knowing my luck it'll be the only way to finally pick up Zuckuss and 4-LOM. Can't we just make it an Executor Bridge playset area for $20?? TIE Bomber: (re-desgin) with grey stripes (instead of blue), an Imperial Engineer and a transport vehicle. --Again, I'll take it or leave it. Have one, build it once in awhile, and really don't need another. Cloud City: (re-design) much bigger, much more and seperated rooms inlcuding, many minifigs and minifigs of Ughunauth, silvern 3PO. --Much bigger means Death Star pricing, and puts this beyond my reach. I'd love some Ugnaughts, but otherwise I have the original and can be satisfied with it. But if they could keep the cost down this could be a monumental seller. I'd like to add one here as well: T-47 Rebel Transport: --This is such a beautiful ship, and if they can do a Tantive IV, they can do the Rebel Transport. Who knows how much it will cost and how big it will be, but I'm assuming it would still be manned by primarily Hoth rebels. I'd guess we're looking at the same range of about $150 USD.[/i] Episode 6: Jabba's Palace: (re-design) much bigger, more details and rooms and a decent exterior including and new minifigs (band member(s), new different guards) --This concept has the potential to be ENORMOUS, and for many of us, that's not an altogether good thing. Much like the cantina, I like the idea of modeling it after the previous attempt of Jabba's Palace, with one primary set and additional smaller modular sets that add on. There's a lot of colorful characters to be considered here, but I'd consider a large $80-100USD set with Jabba's main palace and the Rancor pit, complete with an updated Bib Fortuna, Salacious Crumb, the brick-built Rancor, the Rancor Keeper, Oola, and perhaps a few guards. Adding on we could have a 1.) Han Solo Carbonite Rescue, featuring the long-anticipated Leia as Boussh and perhaps a few more guards (Ree Yees, or that Squid-head looking guy?); 2.) Jabba's Dungeon, featuring his droid boss EV-9D9 and maybe a few more droids and an updated Gamorrean Guard or two; 3.) Jabba's Court, featuring a nice motley crew of some of his more interesting hangers-on, with perhaps Luke entering in Jedi gear; 4.) The Max Rebo band, with or without the dreaded special edition add-ons. Plenty of potential to build this up slowly rather than try to pack it all into one box. Jabba's Sale Barge (re-design) since I regrettably missed the last version. --I have the last one, and it's a fantastic, beautiful set, so I wouldn't want to keep it from becoming available to those who have missed it. But, might I suggest another set: Jabba's Skiff Guard, featuring all of the Weequay and Klaatu, Nikto, and Barada guards on the second skiff. They could probably do this really nicely at around the $25-30 USD range. Imperial Shuttle and Imperial Endor Base: (partly re-design) Imperial Shuttle with a gangway and with minfigure of black-suited Imperial Officer (Imp. Captain addionally) --Sounds monstrous, especially if they add on the AT-AT, which would admittedly be really cool. Let's face it, this is $200 USD at the least... Mon Calamari Cuiser: (re-design) the whole ship including everything which we already got in the set last year as interior. --Entire ships sound dangerous, and I'm likely to avoid this entirely. But it'd be interesting to see how they'd do such an organic, round-looking ship. As for figures, I was lobbying very hard last time for a 'Prune Face' commando to be included in the last set, but otherwise the figs were everything we could've asked for. The General Madine, as ridiculous as the character looked, is a great fig! Ewoks' Trap and Ewoks' Village: both combined in one set (for more playbility). --I'm not a huge Ewok fan, and by the time I pick up the Ewok Attack this summer I'll have a nice little handful of the furballs in my collection. BUT, still, at some point they have to do the Ewok Village, and it'll probably be a nice, big set. At $120 USD or higher, they'd better include the black and gray striped ewok, Leia in her Ewok look, and they'd better figure out a way to do a true Han Solo in the long brown camo trenchcoat. TIE Interceptor with grey (instead of blue) stripes and an Imperial Engineer. --The existing Interceptor is a really great design, I'd like to see it done in gray. If Vader's TIE cost $35 two years ago, this thing will probably check in at about $40. Otherwise Klaus-Dieter pretty much says it all. We've seen a lot of the OT universe realized in Lego form, but there's certainly some still unexplored areas worth visiting. I'd just as soon see them a bit cheaper, but that's just me. Thanks again K-D and hope I'm not just rehashing your ideas! Edited January 25, 201114 yr by Mr. Elijah Timms
January 25, 201114 yr Completely agree, Mr. Elijah Timms, except that I don't think the Tusken Attack would be the best. Honestly, I think the best OT set to put Tuskens in would've been the Landspeeder. Just imagine how well 8092 would've sold with Tuskens in it... BTW, a correction, the Rebel transport is a Gallorfree-class transport. A T-47 is a Snowspeeder/Airspeeder.

Guess I heard/read that one wrong. Thanks for the clarification. I admit, as an old school SW fan my terminology is more Kenner-based than Dark Horse or Del Rey or any of these Expanded Universe sources.
January 28, 201114 yr Thought - this years SW advent calendar is a 25 stage Cantina set. Sounds like a good way to split it up and celebrate at the same time!

January 29, 201114 yr I'd love to see a Rancor Pit set. It would have a brick built rancor with molded parts like the Power Miners Crystal King, Luke with one of the new molded big bones and a Gamorrean guard.
