TroyTMoore Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Hello Everyone. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question. As of yesterday morning I kepp getting a "Cannot Find Server" page when trying to go to Classic-Castle.com. That is my main site as I am a castle fan (but I like a lot of other themes too) and I am experiencing withdrawl *wacko* It could just be my ISP or something else local. I am not very familiar with all the technological aspects of the internet, so I am seeing if this is the case for any, or all, of you as well. Thank you for your time. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 13, 2006 Governor Posted May 13, 2006 All websites experience down time. Even the best server can only guarentee 99.9% uptime so chances are you've caught Classic-Classic during that 0.01% down time. Although, in the case of PirateBricks, it might go offline and never come back online... And if it doesn't, Euorbricks might have a niche to fill :-D Quote
Norro Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 It's down for me as well... Good to see you here anyway (from a quazi familiar face) ;-) God Bless, Nathan Quote
JoshW Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Yup, still down. I'm having withdrawals too, since its been down for most of a day now. Josh Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 13, 2006 Governor Posted May 13, 2006 What a shame, everyone from Classic Castle will have to move to Eurobricks now... Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 What a shame, everyone from Classic Castle will have to move to Eurobricks now... You know Phes, your probably not going to make yourself very popular among the CCers with posts like that. ;-) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 13, 2006 Governor Posted May 13, 2006 I'm not responsible for Classic Castle's down time nor its possible closure, however if Classic Castle users wish to continue discussing Classic Castle then Eurobricks will gladly accomodate them. So if they wish to hold resentment for that kind offer then its their prerogative, however an illogical and unproductive one. Quote
JoshW Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 So if they wish to hold resentment for that kind offer then its their prerogative, however an illogical and unproductive one. No resentment here and I appreciate the offer, that wouldn't happen at many sites. I am sure CC will be up again in the near future, but its downtime has made me spend time over here and that is a good thing. I've been a member for a while but never spent much time posting here. Thanks! Josh Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 13, 2006 Governor Posted May 13, 2006 We're glad to have yer here Mr JoshW! You seem like an intelligent user and you write well, so spend as much time as yer wish here! Quote
Athos Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I wonder if it has anything to do with that hacker who seems to be attacking Lego sites as of late... I've been having trouble with C-C for a couple days now. Steve Quote

So if they wish to hold resentment for that kind offer then its their prerogative, however an illogical and unproductive one. I was joking, more or less, hence the wink smilie. Maybe I should've used the tounge smilie instead. And I'm sure CCers (including myself) appreciate the offer, as I doubt many other sites would allow this type of thread. I wonder if it has anything to do with that hacker who seems to be attacking Lego sites as of late... I was wondering that too... Hopefully it'll be able to be fixed, whatever it is. Quote

jonfett Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Just thought I would add that both the CC homepage and forum have been down for the last few days for me.. which is a shame as I am trying to complete a trade there (and we only have contact via PM) *sad* Oh well, lets hope its back up soon! Jon. Quote

Jacob C. Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Just thought I would add that both the CC homepage and forum have been down for the last few days for me. Same here. Must be having server problems or something? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 13, 2006 Governor Posted May 13, 2006 If anybody knows the administrators maybe they could contact them and ask... Deep and disturbing this mystery is... Quote
JoshW Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 What do you mean by that, Mr Norro? Nathan is referring to the fact that both he and I were regular posters in Lugnet.castle long before Classic-Castle came into being. That was the main lair of castle fans and CC grew out of that. As far as contacting the CC admins goes, I emailed Anthony Sava this morning, but haven't heard from him yet. I will keep everyone updated when I hear anything. Josh Quote
Jipay Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Well I hope they will be alright. We have been hacked a whiel also but due to regulazr saves of the databse, no real harm was done. I wish all of the rescued cc users the best experience possible on our boards. We aren't a specialized website, which means we have a little place for everyone. Quote
eNiGMa Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 As far as contacting the CC admins goes, I emailed Anthony Sava this morning, but haven't heard from him yet. I also e-mailed Nathan this morning. He got back to me quickly and said that Troy is working his butt off to find a solution. So something is being done. *y* btw, Good to see you CCers again! It's been a while. ;-) Quote
ellerb Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 The server that hosts Classic-Castle.com and several other sites was compromised. We are currently working to have the site back up as soon as possible. It may take until Monday but hopefully not that long. Please be patient and we apologize for the inconvenience. Ben Ellermann CC Team P.S. CC is not closing. This is our first major server problem in three years of operation. We will take more steps to further protect our site. Quote

Thanks, Ben, that is good to hear. I didn't think the site was closing but it did catch me by surprise since we haven't had problems for so long. I guess it was just our turn. Take care, Josh Quote
