TroyTMoore Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Thanks for the info my fellow C-Cers! I was concerned it was just me. I post most on C-C(and that is not much at all) but I browse here and FBTB (with very infrequent posts). I like Eurobricks as it is a friendly community. Plus it usually has the latest news in LEGO products first! Quote
eNiGMa Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 We are currently working to have the site back up as soon as possible. It may take until Monday but hopefully not that long. That's good to hear. Thanks for the heads-up! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 14, 2006 Governor Posted May 14, 2006 P.S. CC is not closing. This is our first major server problem in three years of operation. We will take more steps to further protect our site. Long live Classic Castle! But everyone who posts there frequently can continue posting at Eurobricks too! We'd love to have you here! Quote
Jipay Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Indeed, you are definitly all welcome back even when your original place will be up and running ! Quote
Slobey Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Thank you admins *y* I usually try to look in at CC every day ( being mainly a castle lego fan) but I for one will keep coming back here too. Most other forums would have kicked us out for even mentioning another forum. Good to see a lot of Classic Castlers (is that a word?) in here too :-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Slobey, Why would we do something like that ?? EB offers a place for every Lego addiction ;-) Ask Jon, he is a belville fan loool A lot of members here are members elswhere, so its definitly not a problem at all !! All are welcome on EB ;-) Like the others say, feel free to drop by after CC is once more fully operational !! You guys are part of the EB familly now ;-) *yoda* Quote
Darkie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 And what a fabulous family it is. I should get in the habit of posting more. Though, I do make a point to check here nearly ever day, I somehow missed this very important thread. Quote
JoshW Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I should get in the habit of posting more. Though, I do make a point to check here nearly ever day, I somehow missed this very important thread. Darkie! I didn't know you were a member here, its great to see you! Josh Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 15, 2006 Governor Posted May 15, 2006 Eurobricks: Uniting Castle Fans all over the world! Aint that sweet? Quote
eNiGMa Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Eurobricks: Uniting Castle Fans all over the world!Aint that sweet? Imagine how we feel. :-P Thank you, EB! :'-) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 15, 2006 Governor Posted May 15, 2006 Imagine how you feel? Hmmm... I'm imagining that you've grown to love Eurobricks so much you've completely forgot about Classic-Castle now. :-D Am I endanger of being chased by villagers wielding pitch forks after writing that? Quote
Darkie Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Nah, Phes. We'll hang you for heresy. ;) I've been posting (lurking?) here for quite some time. Like all LEGO forums, I rarely post, but I read most of the topics. Forget about CC? I doubt it. But it's fun to play here, if only for a small while. :) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 15, 2006 Governor Posted May 15, 2006 Should Eurobricks be offering Castle fans more to entice them to do more than "But it's fun to play here, if only for a small while"? Quote
eNiGMa Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Should Eurobricks be offering Castle fans more to entice them to do more than "But it's fun to play here, if only for a small while"? Probably, but really all you need to do is hack into our system (but don't anyway :-P ). I just checked CC. Much of the main site is back up (at least most of the front page, anyway), but the forums are still down. Things are looking up! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 15, 2006 Governor Posted May 15, 2006 Nobody at Eurobricks has any intention of sabotaging other LEGO message boards to gain more users here. We get plenty of activity here and have many loyal users and contributors which I am thankful for. However, I believe in continuous improvement and if there's something we should be doing that we're not then suggestions are welcome! Quote
bruce n h Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Hey all, Just in case you always go straight to the Classic-Castle forums and don't check the front page, Troy has posted an update. The bulk of the site is back up, but Troy is still working on putting the forums back. He's trying to restore the forums from the old hard drive, which would get them back up where they were last week. The worst case scenario is that he has to go to the April 6 backup, which means that at most the last few weeks of posts would be lost, but nothing else. Again, thank you for your patience. And thank you to Troy who is working very hard to get things back. Bruce Quote
Norro Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Bruce In the spirit of the thread: Congratulations on your 10th EB post... X-D ;-) God Bless, Nathan Quote
Scnicker Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I really loved this place, especially the Pirate part and can't wait for the stockade to open! I may lessen my posts at CC (not that I post much anyway) and concenrate here :-). Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Hmm. The front page seems to have stopped working again for me. Does that happen to anyone else? Quote
eNiGMa Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Hmm. The front page seems to have stopped working again for me. Does that happen to anyone else? Yep. |-/ EDIT: It's back up now, and looking better than it did last night. Now we just have to wait for the forums to get back up, but it made my day to just see that good ol' CC banner. :-D Quote
bruce n h Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Bruce In the spirit of the thread: Congratulations on your 10th EB post... X-D ;-) God Bless, Nathan LOL. Admin duties take up most of my online time, so I rarely post in forums other than CC. However, I am a registered member of most of the major ones, and lurk about from time to time looking for cool MOCs. Bruce Quote
BigDaddy Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 LOL. Admin duties take up most of my online time, so I rarely post in forums other than CC. That's OK, Bruce... I'll vouch for ya'. :-P Thanks for the update on C-C! Quote
Merlin of Lego Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I am interested to know how many CC folks Joined EB because of this crash and if so will you now post regularly at both? Quote
ellerb Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I am interested to know how many CC folks Joined EB because of this crash and if so will you now post regularly at both? Like Bruce I am registered at many of the main sites. Eurobricks is a general LEGO forum. Most of these I just post if I read a very interesting topic. But I do browse many sites daily. Eurobricks has an advantage over Lugnet for several reasons including ease of joining, no fees, and a friendly atmosphere. On the other hand it is not as established yet. General sites are great for discussion but they never have the in depth information that a site dedicated to one theme has. This is why sites like bzpower, fbtb, classic-castle, and classic-space will continue to thrive. Ben Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 16, 2006 Governor Posted May 16, 2006 Mr Ellerb, are you saying that Eurobricks isn't established because it IS a general LEGO forum, or because there more is needed to done before it can be considered established? If so, what is that? I'd say Eurobricks has established itself as a fine general LEGO forum and the fact its attracted so many Classic Castle users in the past few days is obviously saying something positive. Obviously being a general LEGO forum Eurobricks can't reach the level of depth for Castle, as the Classic Castle forum - but its damn well going to do just that for Pirates in the near future! Quote
