Thanks for the info my fellow C-Cers! I was concerned it was just me. I post most on C-C(and that is not much at all) but I browse here and FBTB (with very infrequent posts).

I like Eurobricks as it is a friendly community. Plus it usually has the latest news in LEGO products first!

We are currently working to have the site back up as soon as possible. It may take until Monday but hopefully not that long.

P.S. CC is not closing. This is our first major server problem in three years of operation. We will take more steps to further protect our site.

Thank you admins *y* I usually try to look in at CC every day ( being mainly a castle lego fan) but I for one will keep coming back here too. Most other forums would have kicked us out for even mentioning another forum. Good to see a lot of Classic Castlers (is that a word?) in here too :-)

I've been posting (lurking?) here for quite some time. Like all LEGO forums, I rarely post, but I read most of the topics.

Probably, but really all you need to do is hack into our system (but don't anyway :-P ).

I just checked CC. Much of the main site is back up (at least most of the front page, anyway), but the forums are still down. Things are looking up!

Nobody at Eurobricks has any intention of sabotaging other LEGO message boards to gain more users here. We get plenty of activity here and have many loyal users and contributors which I am thankful for. However, I believe in continuous improvement and if there's something we should be doing that we're not then suggestions are welcome!

Hey all,

Just in case you always go straight to the Classic-Castle forums and don't check the front page, Troy has posted an update. The bulk of the site is back up, but Troy is still working on putting the forums back. He's trying to restore the forums from the old hard drive, which would get them back up where they were last week. The worst case scenario is that he has to go to the April 6 backup, which means that at most the last few weeks of posts would be lost, but nothing else.

Again, thank you for your patience. And thank you to Troy who is working very hard to get things back.

EDIT: It's back up now, and looking better than it did last night. Now we just have to wait for the forums to get back up, but it made my day to just see that good ol' CC banner. :-D

LOL. Admin duties take up most of my online time, so I rarely post in forums other than CC. However, I am a registered member of most of the major ones, and lurk about from time to time looking for cool MOCs.

Like Bruce I am registered at many of the main sites. Eurobricks is a general LEGO forum. Most of these I just post if I read a very interesting topic. But I do browse many sites daily.

Eurobricks has an advantage over Lugnet for several reasons including ease of joining, no fees, and a friendly atmosphere. On the other hand it is not as established yet. General sites are great for discussion but they never have the in depth information that a site dedicated to one theme has. This is why sites like bzpower, fbtb, classic-castle, and classic-space will continue to thrive.

Mr Ellerb, are you saying that Eurobricks isn't established because it IS a general LEGO forum, or because there more is needed to done before it can be considered established? If so, what is that?

I'd say Eurobricks has established itself as a fine general LEGO forum and the fact its attracted so many Classic Castle users in the past few days is obviously saying something positive. Obviously being a general LEGO forum Eurobricks can't reach the level of depth for Castle, as the Classic Castle forum - but its damn well going to do just that for Pirates in the near future!
