CorneliusMurdock Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Dr. Grant Smiles, D.D.S. has come to the Winter Village to set up his practice. Between the various candy shops and bakeries, he's gonna be rich! Main Photo Here a mother drags her child to the office for an appointment as a worker finishes installing lights for the giant toothbrush sign. Here's a shot without the minifigs Exam Room- "This might pinch a teeny bit," Dr. Smiles says. I don't think the patient believes him. Waiting Room- the dental assistant sits working at her desk as a man with a terrible toothache waits his turn. Interior Overhead- Here you can get a good idea of the layout without the roof on. More pictures on my Flickr page! Quote
prateek Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I love the kid's face. I like the toothbursh and exterior, and the interior is just awesome! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 This is a really nice entry Cornelius, just a brilliant 'business' idea taking advantage of the recent proliferation of candy shops in the Winter Village. I like the Christmasy decorations outside, and the interior details are spot-on for a dentistry. The facial expresions of the clients are also perfect for their ordeals. Great job and best of luck in the contest! Quote
Legoist Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 This should go straight next to the bakery Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Excellent creation 'CorneliusMurdock' and man, that is one big toothbrush ! I would have gone a Steve Martin dentist character instead......to be a dentist ! Good luck and keep on drilling those teeth ! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Thanks for all the positive comments, everyone. The giant toothbrush is something that once I thought of it I had to include it. It sort of dominated the roof design after that. As for the minifigs, I felt that it was important that each of them had a role rather than just throw a bunch into the MOC. I hope I accomplished that. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I really like the facial expressions, they really help sell the dentist theme. Quote
Geertos13 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Looks Very Very very nice a dentistry wasn't something I was expecting, but that the clue to inspiration and originality ! Quote
SilentMode Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Nice one, I like both the fact that the building isn't white, and that you've got a rectangular building (which we don't see much of these days). The interior's also very good. Quote
buddy Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Great entry, CorneliusMurdock! I particularly like the idea behind it. But best of all are the minifigs facial expressions, they are all perfect for what they are doing. Very well done. ~buddy~ Quote
lt.Gonville brickhead Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I like the dentist's office and the design is great Quote
The Soup Nazi Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Great Concept! Now, all we need is a drill! Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Great! I really like the kid screaming in the "doctor's room". Also, I like the choice of colors for the exterior- they looks really nice together! Quote
J1988 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Wow! It has such a nice simple design to it, but works so perfectly. As was mentioned, it doesn't have that all-white sterile look to it which makes it feel much more like it would fit into a Christmas village. The dentist looks like he was pulled out of a soap opera and should be saying, "I'm not a doctor, but I do play one on television." Quote
Brickviller Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Looks great! only a dentist? I hate the dentist, she's evil! Great work Quote
sens1992 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Very very cool CorneliusMurdock! Nice choice of colors. I feel sorry for the LEGO patients lol... GOOD JOB! Quote
It All Ends Here Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 A very original idea to make this! The big toothbrush is really cool! Quote
