Dr. Lloyd enters the third floor. It looks identical to the floor below it, but there's a dried blood pool on the hardwood floor, and there's glass broken nearby the window, which is open. The room is empty.

I would like to join the people on the third floor and enter the room.

Is the broken window large enough for someone to have jumped through? Perhaps we should also check if anything was thrown below in the street?

I would like to check the room for any other way out: doors, windows, traps in the roof? Also, I would like to check for any object that could have been thrown in the room from outside?

There are four windows in the room, one of them has the glass broken. It is possible to climb out of the window. Looking out of the window, there is a ladder and a rock lying in the street. It appears whoever snuck out used a ladder to climb out of the Cafe Corner.

There is a the sound of crashing objects nearby the lighthouse...

Louis, keep an eye on the Councilman and the Judge.

Brave Officer Fields climbs down the unstable ladder, and jumps from the awning to the street. He then picks up the rock and examines it.

I would like to go back to the street (using the stairs!) and inspect the fallen rock.

Rushing down the stairs, Farmer Simmons reaches the bottom a few seconds after Officer Fields, and inspects the rock. It's a medium sized rock, with no distinguishing characteristics. There's nothing particularly special about it.

The sound of crashing objects continues nearby the lighthouse...

The lighthouse is at the edge of town, at the end of the beach. Ralph and Officer Harrison start walking towards the lighthouse, but are stopped by the rest of the group.

"I don't think we're finished here." someone says.

Ok let's just wait a minute here and think about what just happened. I'm not used to so much action in a day, my tomatoes aren't quite this entertaining!

So someone locked himself up in this hotel's 3rd floor room, and killed someone? I don't think he just slaughtered a pig, so there must be a body somewhere. The killer could have escaped with the body but the blood isn't fresh and there's none on the window. Either the body is still upstairs, or it's been gone for a long time.

And we have a weapon, but in the wrong room. The second floor mystery man could be our killer, but only the hotel owner and this Ted had the key to the third floor room. Ted hasn't arrived yet, so how did the killer get the key? From the hotel owner? Perhaps the hotel owner is the killer, or the victim? In any case, we need to find the body.

Returning to the third floor, I would like to check the room for other blood stains and possible hiding places for a body. Including checking every window in case the body could have been dumped outside.

And is anyone able to read the fingerprints on that knife? Constable?

Chief Phelps takes the radio. Upon tuning it to the same station, he hears static. It appears that this station is no longer broadcasting.

Valerie looks under the rug. There's nothing there. Valerie then checks in the drawers to find a note. Finally, Valerie checks under the bed to find a box.

I would like to encourage the group to hurry, because whoever is in the lighthouse may get away soon. I would also like to propose that half of us stay at the hotel and look, and the other half go to the lighthouse ASAP.

Dr.Lloyd picks up the note from the cabinet.

"Ted-

This is the last note I've written, as I'm writing this as I'm leaving. That...guy on the second floor he knows things, he knows lots of things. He said to be wary, because the commies have implanted themselves into our society. I know you're coming in tomorrow, and I'm giving you a warning.

Dr.Lloyd takes out the box, and searches it. It's empty. He then goes down the ladder, and looks around. There's nothing suspicious around, except for the crashing noise.
