Masked Builder Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 If this isn't the right place to ask would somebody be so kind as to point me in the right direction? Thanks. So I need to embed a Flickr video, and using the code button doesn't work. Anyone know how to do this? Quote
JimBee Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 The "code" button is just for writing URLs or codes... not really sure how you would use that one. But have you tried the media button? ( ). It should work for deeplinking any sound or video files. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 No that doesn't work. It results in this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/masked-builder/5209208305/ That is how you use it right? Quote
JimBee Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Ah, there we go. I've just tested it, and you have to click "Share" above the video, and grab the HTML code. Then simply paste it into your post. Quote
Rick Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 and grab the HTML code. Make that BBcode. But yes, you're right. 'Share this', then 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', and tick the 'BBcode' box. Copy/paste and you should be done. Quote
Ralph_S Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Make that BBcode. But yes, you're right. 'Share this', then 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', and tick the 'BBcode' box. Copy/paste and you should be done. That works for pictures but doesn't work for videos. For videos it only gives you the html. There is no BBCode. Ralph Quote
Rick Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 The '[media]' BBcode seems to be the way to do it, but I've been playing around with it, but only got as far as 'Flash videos are not allowed'. Guess it's time to ask Sieggy. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 28, 2010 Author Posted November 28, 2010 Thanks for the help so far guys! Hopefully we can get this sorted out. Quote

On the "share me" button on videos, it says to grab the "HTML / BBCode". I grabbed it, entered it into the media tags in this post, and got: Edit: Well, um, now it's not working. It embeds itself just fine in Rich Text Editor (I can play the video in my post editor), but it disappears when I post. When I go back and edit the post again, the video is gone and the media tags ( and ) are still there. Yeah, better let the experts figure this one out. Quote

Big Cam Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I was under the impression that the media tags only worked on youtube videos? I've never seen a flickr video embedded anywhere on the internet to be honest. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) I was under the impression that the media tags only worked on youtube videos? I've never seen a flickr video embedded anywhere on the internet to be honest. I've seen it used on TBB, and based on what's here I assume it's HTML-dependant. If you click HTML code under 'Other Styles' in the post window, will it allow you to use HTML formatting? <a href="www.eurobricks.com">EB</a> Nevermind, it doesn't.
