---Vertea--- Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 If you decode the tablet in that photograph with the Professor, it says: PHARSK AOHSA QUESKE ?HARHSU ('?' is a placeholder, maybe another 'P'?) WHAT CAN IT MEAN??? Look at it again- It says Pharaoh's Ques(t) in a scrambled sort of way. Wonder what the other letters mean. thanks for the translations, BTW :) Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 So the site is up now then? Cool. Hope this means that set hi-res images turn up soon then! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 ! Those Egyptian Hieroglyphs are all fake! I wonder why TLC went through the trouble of designing their own hieroglyphs if a simple google search would have brought up real ones. I'm glad the web-sight is up and running and giving us (the decidedly impatient) a chance to gawk at their high quality sketches until actual pictures show up. Speaking of which, The falcon-mummy sketches look fantastic! I can't wait to get my grubby paws upon one (or preferably two.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 The web site is now online http://pharaohsquest.lego.com/en-us/Default.aspx Already saw this on brickset, but still thanks for the link! Quote
---Vertea--- Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I wonder if the Anubis heads will feature printing like the Horus headdresses. If you look, the Horus mummy has no printing on the hat in the pyramid image, but the printing is present and really finalized-looking in the airplane set image. I kind of hope to see printing on the anubis heads, but either way, great molds. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 The site looks great! Can't wait for mid-November! Quote
YG-49 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Return of the Tan Indy Bag and Dark Tan Pith Helmet! Yay! Quote
giggitygoo Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Look at the mummy ooh! so this must be a final version. i cant wait to see what the finals of the rest of the figures and sets look like Quote
Delta 38 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 ! Those Egyptian Hieroglyphs are all fake! I wonder why TLC went through the trouble of designing their own hieroglyphs if a simple google search would have brought up real ones. Well, the Matoran alphabet from Bionicle and the alien language from Mars Mission come to mind... Also, some hieroglyphs have a resemblance to letters. For example, on the cover of the journal thing, the first line is easily identifiable as "pharaohs" (there's no apostrophe, but anyway). Some of the rest are a bit obscure. It was probably to bring more of an original feel to it, with most being depictions of pieces or minifigs. Anyway, interesting to see confirmation and stuff with the site being brought online. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Look at the mummy Wow, It looks alot better than I thought it would be Quote
Baylego Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Well, the archeologists may come out better than I thought! If both sides of the minifigures come out awesome, this theme will be irresistible! Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Look at the mummy Wow that's great! Quote
Algernon Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) So the Pharoah's Quest website inspired me to write my own Pharoah's Quest theme... check it! http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/369689 EDIT: Also, definitely liking the final design for the mummies. I hope the Adventurers minifig makeover is just as dramatic- they were really bland from what I saw. Edited October 18, 2010 by Algernon Quote

And I'm actually kind of disappointed with the mummy he should have more wrinkles and I think they should of kept the gray wrappings. I hope the other mummys look better. Quote
CMP Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I can't see the dang mummmy for some reason. Quote
Raphy Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Pharaoh's Quest sounds awesome. Does anyone know if it's possible that Johnny Thunder might be one of the archeologists? That would be really cool. Johnny Thunder was one of my childhood favorites (still is ackshully, I'm still a kid) :P Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I can't see the dang mummmy for some reason. Try with Firefox. It's not loading with IE, don't know why. I searched for the exact name of these Egyptian swords they have - it's called khepesh. (Not to be confused with khepresh - the blue crown, also known as war crown). Quote

I hope the Adventurers minifig makeover is just as dramatic- they were really bland from what I saw. If the minifig who wrote the journal on the teaser site is any indication, the adventurers will be a lot more exciting than the leaked pics implied. Of course, for some sets that was a given-- while minifigs in the plane set, sphinx set, and motorcycle set all look finalized (and have quite a lot of character), the pyramid set's minifigures were all decidedly preliminary, with a generic metallic-sunglasses face on one adventurer, a generic classic-smiley face on the fig in the half-track, and the faces of the Studios mummy on all the mummies pictured. Also, I got the teaser site to work, although for some reason it only works on Internet Explorer for me, and sends me to the "Page Not Found" page with Firefox. While it was worth seeing the "Page Not Found" page (which has been made incredibly charming on the new version of the LEGO site), I was glad to actually get a chance to see the teasers (which will presumably be getting new content semi-regularly as we approach the actual release in 2011). Tervlon Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Look at the mummy Nice. This will be a great zombie head too. :) See folks, the initial images we saw were PRELIMINARY and did not reflect the final product. So far the figs look great. Quote
Cutty Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Yay for the new great mummy design! Awesome LEGO! See folks, the initial images we saw were PRELIMINARY and did not reflect the final product. So far the figs look great. Well, but that WAS kind of a no brainer in the first place, given WHEN the first leaked catalogue pictures hit the fora. I am calling all those who believed what they saw on the leaked pics to be the finalised designs naive... and that's being polite. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Bummer--the site doesn't work for me on either Firefox or IE. Quote
Decale Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Bummer--the site doesn't work for me on either Firefox or IE. Well it looks like it's on maintenance today. No, I don't check the website every day, don't look at me like that! I hope that's because they're updating it!!! Quote
prateek Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 It might be the case that they accidentally released the site too early. Quote
