I found this in the latest Lego Club Magazine:

(contains a simple advertisement)

Thanks for that legoSS, and welcome to Eurobricks. This all potentially points to a December 1 release with the website officially launched first of Novemeber and talk of the last sunset of the month being when sets will be available (or maybe it will just be pre-order). I think this theme is proving to be the most exciting non-licensed theme for Lego fans in years.

To me, those numbers mean "eleventh of January 2010". Too strange with dates after the turn of the millennia, not least when you find something edible with a "best before"- date on it and you can't figure out if it has expired or not.

That will all be a thing of the past in 2013!

Indeed, if it's a UK magazine the date is 11 January. Maybe legoSS could shed some light on whether he is in the US or the UK?

I got one in the mail the other day too, its the USA version so it means November 1, 2010. Theres also an ad for Ninjago.com, I'd imagine that means they intend the two websites to "go live" on 11/1/10.

I got the magazine, and from the preview image, it would appear that the anubis heads have printing!

Sounds good! Still need to get mine as the Brickmaster is not the same as the magazine anymore.

Lego will most likely release the sets in early January. I talked to a clerk at my local Lego shop and she gave me the store calandar for December. The new Pharaoh's Quest theme is mentioned but, only as a teaser and it states that that theme along with the new Police, Star Wars, Space, and Ninjago themes will all be released in early January.

LEGO has released sets in early to mid January for the longest time. I don't see why this year is going to be different.

Not since LEGO has opened up their own stores, now those stores gets the sets weeks and weeks earlier. TRU will have PQ out on December 26th because they always get the new sets out then for the last several years.

Agreed. Release dates vary broadly by retailer and by country. While there may be one "stated" release date in each country, the actual dates when sets start appearing may be considerably earlier or later.

I'm really, really looking forward to this new theme.

My favourite set is either the Pyramid or the Biplane as well as the motorcycle one, too.

I've got a horrible feeling though, regarding the awesome Horus figure - I think the headdress and the wings are one connected piece. Does anyone know for sure? I hope they're two separate pieces, the wings attaching like quivers, backpacks etc and the headdress attaching to the head.

No, I can clearly see a neck piece, so they must be separate pieces. What I want to know is if the wings are detachable. They could be useful for MOCs, but I'm afraid they're one piece.

Oh that's good, I'm glad. Thanks for clearing that up,Oky Wan Kenobi

Personally I hope that it's attached to the neck brace, because I think if it was detachable it would be too weak and would fall off the figure during play. Not good for kiddies! it's a shame though, because it does have MOCing potential. Would make a neat spoiler on a drag racer or something. I suppose it could be attached via a technic pin, there does exist a neck brace piece it would work with, but I sadly can't see that happening.

Yeah also in the sphinx set it shows a mummy with a horus headress and no wings if I remember correctly. :classic: So hopefully it'll be two separate pieces.

Looking at the prelims I cannot wait to see official pics soon. It looks to me like there are 2 types of mummy faces, one uncovered, and one only partially uncovered. The first reveals the mummy's entire face and the second only has one eye peeking out. It seems more than plausible to me that these are reversible, as in you have both printed on one head and you face out whichever you want.

Does anyone else notice this?
