r4-g9 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Oh okay sorry but I can't help you there. the tru number like 576501 from: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10883986 but for pharaoh's quest Quote
vexorian Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) I plan to but, I want to wait for brickshelf.com to clear my pictures first. I had some problems the last time I tried to deeplink so, I just want to wait to be on the safe side. I think I found your folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=452165 You should delete the image you posted in Eurobricks so that you don't lose your 150K upload quota later. Thanks for the pics. It seems this set is a must for people that wanted a historical egypt. The pharao gold mask and the pyramid are easily adaptable to something historical. Looks GREAT... shame the inside is so sparse though. Quote
metalandi Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks for the link! After seeing these pictures i have mixed feelings. I really like the overall design and there are lots of play features, but the interior is very, very bad. I'm really disappointed by that. There is so much room for stuff, and there barely is anything inside. Also there don't seem to be a lot of accesoires. that's realyl a shame. It seems that lately lego always makes sets that have great design but a big lack of interior, or sets that have lots of accesoires, but bad design. Quote
Oky Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks for the pics! The pyramid looks pretty good to me. I don't get all the complaints about the interior, I don't think there's a lot more they could have put in there. The old pyramid/temple didn't have a lot of stuff on the inside either. Personally, I'm not very interested in that set, but you just gotta love these two figs, especially the pharaoh's second face! Hopefully we'll get them as keychains or magnets or something! By the way, is the headdress inside the pyramid an extra or the same one the pharaoh wears? Also, are the mummies the only ones with double-sided heads? Quote
Rick Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 By the way, is the headdress inside the pyramid an extra or the same one the pharaoh wears? One of the headdresses is the golden 'collectible' item that comes with the pyramid set (there's a shield, a staff, a gem, and a piece of gold in the other sets). Quote
Zeya Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 One of the headdresses is the golden 'collectible' item that comes with the pyramid set (there's a shield, a staff, a gem, and a piece of gold in the other sets). In each of the sets that just released? Hmm, the teaser site said there were 6 treasures, right? There are only 5 that you mentioned there. Maybe the sixth will be in an exclusive set. Quote
Rick Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Maybe the sixth will be in an exclusive set. No, now that I think of it, I forgot one: a sword in the Sphinx set. Quote
BearHeart Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 UGH!! I just noticed now that the sides of the pyramid are made out of baseplates. I thought all three sides of the pyramid are going to be built out of sloped pieces, what a disappointment. The interior is going to need a lot of modding too, but I got some great ideas for that already. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 The black anubis warrior is easily one of the most badass minifigs they've ever released. Let's officially call it a crime that you can only get one, or two for that matter, by getting the pyramid set, which to my estimation is just a little to meh for my taste. Quote
sok117 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Just picked up two copies of the scarab beattle set. And the sphinx. They were missing the two I wanted the most, the plane and motorcycle ones. And I'm getting the pyramid later. If you guys want pictures, just holler. Quote

Well here I am hollering :D This series is looking to be one of the best sources of new parts in a long while. Already I can see some new uses for these minifigs (Stargate, anyone?) Quote
Jack Bricker Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) I have to disagree with a lot of people about the interior. If you used slope pieces for the sides that would make a wierd upside down stairway for walls and if you tried to compensate for that you would have no room inside so I think that they did okay for that. Also the set contains almost 800 pieces so I don't feel that using the baseplate was a real bad move. Personally I think that for Lego's very first Egyptian Pyramid I am very impressed. Hopefully we will see some more sets in this theme like we are with atlantis. Edited November 18, 2010 by Jack Bricker Quote
sok117 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Well here I am hollering :D Your wish is my command brickshelf when moderated pretty decent, some poor design ethics, nice car, interesting back print. I'm kind of mad that jack raines is two minifigs, the pilot and the hero. And that he's basically in every set. Scarabs are nice. I think they look best in large numbers. Probably gonna mod my Sphinx if I can get around to it. EDIT: Forgot to mention the two fez pieces on the car! Edited November 18, 2010 by sok117 Quote
prateek Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 The car and the figs are awesome, but that's one anorexic Sphinx! BTW, how much was the smallest set? Quote

EDIT: Forgot to mention the two fez pieces on the car! many thanks :) I must say, I rather like the look of the Sphinx, despite its blocky aspects. The scarabs are adorable and I can see myself trying for multiples. I agree they could have used more characters. all they really need is another face to replace most of the Jack Raines and this line would be alright. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I shall sulk, and sulk and sulk until I can buy these sets in the UK. *arms folded* Is there any sort of supplementary material like little comics, such as the old Adventurers used to have? Quote

Edit: But an interesting thin involving instructions, the set comes with one big book for the sphink and one smaller book for the car and figs. Edited November 18, 2010 by sok117 Quote
Tervlon Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 The back of the leather jacket is exceptional! I'm happy to see the Fez return, too. Thanks for the pics! Quote

I think they may have started appearing. My friend said he thought he saw some. I havent as yet but I am going to check out some areas tomorrow. Quote
Algernon Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 The Sphinx just isn't doing it for me, although the car is quite snazzy. Has anybody gotten their hands on the giant stone snake yet? Quote
vexorian Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Yesterday I was going to post that maybe the Sphinx has some sort of functionality and that's the reason it looked so odd in pics. Seems I was right. That's interesting. I don't like it, but somehow I think kids will love it. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I'm so in love with the Anubis dudes. Can't wait to get them! The pharaoh looks good too. Quote
user Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) I'm now kinda iffy about the pyramid. Those Jackel figures are to die for but the pyramid itself is disappointing. It seems to lose its color scheme on the inside and it's only half a pyramid with two lazily built walls and the inside is so loaded with crummy play features so that it just looks like a mess. If it's $100 I might not get it because if you compare it to a set like The volcano base which was only $80 and looks waaayy more presentable on both sides then it really shows LEGO's decline recently.
