Sirens-of-Titan Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Wow I have a feeling we will be seeing a repeat of the Atlantis story; wave upon wave upon wave of sets with new protagonists and mummy characters hitting us all year! I for one hope in a bit more variety in the next wave, there is only 1 type of mummy torso (excluding the pharaoh's) and head, so to someone who would want to build up a force of these the only difference is the headdress; and that is not distinctive enough. I am hoping for next wave to have a few more torsos, and other gods depicted as mainatures (imagine a Horus figure, or Osiris!) Any of these might be superb: Quote
Lego_Hero Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I had resigned myself to not getting an Anubis head b/c it was only available in the Pyramid set. Now I might get the keychain AND the minifig pack! WOOT! See, this is why this website is by far the best for LEGO information. Most of the things I know about LEGO are learned here. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I completely agree with you Series-Of-Titan Quote
CMP Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) While very, very unlikely, another human faction (like Sam Sinister) would do nicely in this. They can only go so far with mummies, but hopefully new factions or other adventures will come into play. Or is this just my Adventurers nostalgia? Edited November 23, 2010 by CallMePie Quote

The only human antagonist faction we've had in the past few years are the Dragon Knights of the Kingdom sets, and they were still lacking. I for one want to see this theme expand past Egypt and tour other regions, much like the Adventurers Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Wow I have a feeling we will be seeing a repeat of the Atlantis story; wave upon wave upon wave of sets with new protagonists and mummy characters hitting us all year! Hey, I hope so! I really hope they won't stop with these mere 6 sets! I want a lego Bastet! Quote
Delta 38 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Wow I have a feeling we will be seeing a repeat of the Atlantis story; wave upon wave upon wave of sets with new protagonists and mummy characters hitting us all year! Yay! That would be great. More human vehicles too, I'm getting fond of them. I really want that minifig pack, mainly because of that sarcophagus. The mummies are also very nice. Quote

Mr. Elijah Timms Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Last night I found myself standing in TRU, torn between the 7307 Duel in the Air and the 7286 Prison Transport. Ultimately I decided to go with the Pharaoh's Quest set, only because I figured there was a more likely chance to see the City set cheaper in the weeks to come either in Target or WalMart. Pretty nice set, FANTASTIC minifigs, and the plane is a pretty nice design (I must admit, part of me wanted it just to give to the Pilot/Mountaineer dude in Series 3. My only complaint is, WOW, sure this isn't a licensed set?? Once it's completed and on the table, looks a lot more like a $12 or $15 set than $20. Quote

Plissken Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 This theme turns out really great. I like every one of the sets. Can't wait to find them in the stores. My new most anticipating theme at the moment. Quote

Once it's completed and on the table, looks a lot more like a $12 or $15 set than $20. That's my complaint about all the sets for 2011 besides Atlantis, more so the $20 ones. The plane should be $15, the Atlantis fish is all you get for $20, The City Space rocket and van is $20 and none of them should be more than $15. But that's a call of the times, it's just really sad. IAmWillGibson Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Are minigiure packs like that usually available in stores? I really want the sarcophagus and the flying mummy, but I'm somewhat leery about having a huge glut of mummies just hanging around, and as such would opt for that figure pack instead of the Golden Staff set... assuming I'll find the former at retail. Now if the figure set squeezed an Anubis in there [who I'm extremely unlikely to get otherwise], I'd be sold on it right out of the gate. There's always Lego.com, of course... Quote

Still Raindrop Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Looks like the female adventurer is named Helena Tova, and the mechanic is named Mac McLoud (judging by descriptions from the TRU website). Quote

Still Raindrop Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I can see the weather pun in Mac McLoud (cloud), but I fail to see it in Helena Tova. I know there must be something I'm not getting.... Quote

Jargo Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Helena means 'light' or 'torch' and was the ancient Greek name for the phenomenon known as 'St. Elmo's fire'. Or in other words, lightning. The girl's name Tova is of old Norse and Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Tova is 'beautiful' or 'good'. As a Swedish name, this is a feminine form of Thor, the thunder god. There's your weather connection. Obtuse as it is. Possibly a hidden reference to Johnny Thunder. Oky Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 My Lego Store has all the PQ stuff, including the magnet set and keychains, but unfortunately no battle pack. For anyone who was wondering, the keychain pharaoh does have his death mask printed on the other side of his head. The keychain removal on both the pharaoh and anubis are rather hard though. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Here's a nice picture of the Battle Pack if anyone want's to see it: I think it looks pretty good. Quote
