Antonio Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I love Pharaoh's quest.I really want to get the phinix and i want to mod it to look cooler ,cant wait for these in Bulgaria. Also when i saw the anubis minifigure it became 1 of my favourites!Simply awesome theme i wounder will there be God Ra in 2nd or if 3rd wave Quote
Ogre Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 The battle pack is available on S@H for 14.99 dollars. Not a very good value to me. IMO, the best parts of the battle pack are: a) ONE flying mummy...combined with two of set 7307 gives you a perfect squad b) the snake headdress...matches nicely with the one from 7325...could be 'squad leaders' for your mummy army And being a completist, I'll HAVE TO get it. LOL! Quote

LOL! I'd get it, if it were at least 5 dollars cheaper. That's price overkill. That's what I'm going to use the snake headresses for, too. Great minds think alike. Quote
Oky Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) I was just at my local Lego Store, and all the PQ sets were sold out aside from the magnet set and the BP. However, they did have something else: A PQ Coin Bank! It looked like a tomb of some sort with the Cursed Cobra head towering over it on a Technic structure. When you put a coin in front of it and turn a wheel on the side, the cobra head stretches forward and pulls the coin into the bank with its teeth, I believe. While nothing special, it's the best coin bank to date in my opinion, assuming the mechanism works. It's $20 though, so not a great value for about 160 pieces. I took pictures with my phone, but my phone is old and crappy, and I can't figure out how to transfer the pics to my PC. Sorry. Edited December 4, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
vexorian Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 In the worst case, You could use a camera to take pictures of the phone showing the pictures. Quote
Ogre Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 So...how to we start a petition to get an Anubis warrior battle pack? Five warriors with weapons...swords & shields (if you HAVE TO, two with spears, three with swords & shields). No fluff, no filler. Same price as Castle battle packs. If anybody reading here has 'the ear' of someone who can make this happen, please pass it on! I would be ALL OVER this set! A brand new, 'rare figure' army builder for a LEGO exclusive theme? IMO, it would probably be one of the best-selling battle packs ever. Quote

It is made with Lego pieces though, right? It might be nice if it included minifigs, but I don't think it will be sold over here, so it doesn't affect me too much. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 That sounds pretty interesting. It is made with Lego pieces though, right? It might be nice if it included minifigs, but I don't think it will be sold over here, so it doesn't affect me too much. The coin bank itself probably isn't made of LEGO pieces, I would imagine, even though the functional portion is LEGO. It would more likely be like the Castle Coin Bank and Pirates Coin Bank Note that both include locks and keys to keep it closed if you prefer to (and perhaps also for parents to encourage kids to save their money for special purchases rather than breaking it out every time they see something they want). I've certainly got no problems with that style of coin bank. They remind me kind of of certain sets from my childhood where the packaging would be used as a building element-- for example, this set's box was decorated to look like a castle, and had "doors" you could cut out. Likewise, this set had a cool and functional treasure-chest-shaped cardboard box that I believe had an island backdrop on it. So I don't have any misgivings about non-LEGO "boxes" and the like being used for building. Quote
prozac Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 TRU has jacked up the prices of all thier 2011 sets in store and online now. pyramid is a full $10 more now! When I was there on tuesday the prices were all normal. Quote
_shaddow_ Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 the Village Jouéclub in Paris recieved the battle pack and a set of magnets with one anubis soldier inside. the two others were the hero and a mummy with a golden pharaoh's thing. i suppose it's the same figures we have in the regular sets right ? each 2x4 bricks had a little 2x2 tile with the map on it. Pretty cool, but not €11 cool, IMO. I'm sorry i didn't take any pictures, so no proof, saddly. Quote

Up until now, they've been $19.99 for three figures (don't know if that's the price for ALL but, it is for licenced sets). The PQ magnet set is $15.49 and includes (as was mentioned above) three map tiles. Quote
Oky Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 In the worst case, You could use a camera to take pictures of the phone showing the pictures. That really would be the worst case since you wouldn't be able to see anything. Maybe I can send it to a family member who can upload it from their phone... That sounds pretty interesting. It is made with Lego pieces though, right? It might be nice if it included minifigs, but I don't think it will be sold over here, so it doesn't affect me too much. As Anchir said, like previous coin banks, most of it is cardboard and only some of the back is made of Lego. And no, it does not have any minifigs unfortunately, unless you consider a black scorpion a fig. Quote
jonwil Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 So can someone confirm for me if the 2x2 map tiles in the PQ magnet set are or are not glued? I suspect they ARE glued which means if I want the map, I gotta buy the pyramid set or pay $$$ on BrickLink for the map :( Every time I think I am close to having every LEGO map ever made, LEGO goes and releases more :( Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 It has been said that the maps can come off the magnet. In the discussion about glued magnets, or possibly on The Brothers Brick blog post. Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Does anyone have the Series 3 mummy and compared it to the Pharoh's Quest mummy? Quote

Masked Builder Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Beat the first level in the game. It's great! Graphics are good and the story is amazing! I've done everything else on the site. It's very very nice. Quote
CMP Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Cool site. It's pretty disturbing that Lego came up with powers for treasure that are very similar to the ones I made up for them. Quote
Ogre Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I wonder what the odds are of a 'Pharaoh's Quest' advent calendar in 2011? Quote
Fugazi Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 None if NINJAGO has anything to say about it! (considering this post!) Quote
Oky Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Fugazi has got a point. Seeing how Lego seems to be desperately trying to turn NinjaGo into a cash-cow, it would not surprise me at all if they made an advent calendar for it too, leaving PQ in the sand (pun intended). After all, NinjaGo has a much higher variety of characters and sets to be put into a calendar. I mean, what would a PQ calendar have to offer? More mummies? More small vehicles and statues? Edited December 7, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
CMP Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 PQ should be switched out with NinjaGo, in terms of relative importance. However, like Adventurers, they will be constantly changing enviroments. (Hopefully) Quote
