VenVoi Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 So is this line not going to continue beyond the one wave? Nothing that has been leaked shows anymore sets. I will be mad if not. I've only gotten a few sets but if they are not gonna make anymore I'm not sure I'm gonna bothing trying to get the last 2 big sets if they're not gonna build on it(no pun intended). 6 sets for one theme doesn't make a really good display IMO. Perhaps they'll release another wave next winter. They're skipping a season for the current Kingdoms line (Summer 2010 and Summer 2011). Quote

I have a feeling that this theme is going to take the Kingdoms path and disappear for a year. I do think the Egyptian portion of the theme is done, after all we got all the minions, all the treasure and the Pharaoh himself. I can see this coming back in late fall as perhaps a Greek mythology adventures theme, but as far as more Egyptian sets, I can't think of anything else they can build. We have a pyramid, we have a sphinx, we have a ton of tombs, vehicles etc... This is meant to run to completion IMO, but don't despair we haven't seek the last of Jake and Company. Quote

Well they could have a variety of temples and some decent tombs, there were many structures other than obelisks, pyramids, and the sphinx that the egyptians built. It'd also be cool if they could give us a better variation of mummies! Plus, the kingdoms line is still going on. Quote

That's probably what he meant. I guess we could see some small structures, but I agree, there aren't many more things they can add. Seeing how this line seems to be a one-wave thing, it might increase the chances of there being different locations with the same characters. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I'm placing my bets on a Jungle based adventure next. Greece might not be used to avoid a clash with Atlantis, but if it is ending this year, maybe the fluted columns will make a return and we'll get a gorgon head . I think I am glad there is a small gap, it means I can get all of this wave, then not feel bad about getting a few Kingdoms sets and Ninja Go in the summer wave and be all saved up and ready once more by the christmas and 2012 waves. I'd love a jungle theme, but what would it be called? It can't be called Pharaoh's Quest if it's not related to Egypt. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) I'd love a jungle theme, but what would it be called? It can't be called Pharaoh's Quest if it's not related to Egypt. Jungle Quest, Tropical Quest, that's all I can think of at the moment. Edited January 1, 2011 by The Red Brick Quote

I don't know maybe shaman's, witch-doctor's, chief's, or islander's quest perhaps? I'd love a new witch-doctor mini-fig with a huge mask or crazy make-up! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Well, I can assume that "Quest" will be used as the linking factor. Jungle Quest sounds a little plain, so who knows. But why set up a lot of story and character, with such solid design, only to send out one wave and then leave it? I can't really see what sort of extension can be made to a continued quest in Egypt, after all they have collected all the artifacts in this wave. A Jungle is about the only place that will not clash with current themeatic locations. Quote

I agree with you, but I would like to add my own speculation; that is the next wave will see our adventure friends travel to Greece, where they will battle mythical creatures. There are a few reasons why this may happen; namely the new Atlantic column piece, the hoplite helm, and the fact it hasn't been explored before and people have been begging for a "Greek" theme for years. I'd take a gander at "Olympus Quest" Also, ComputerBug, if they release a jungle or a tropical theme instead, I sure hope that is the direction they take it! I would love huge face masks! MagPiesRUs Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 One thing I feel that's missing from this line is a water-based set. I'd love to see an old paddle steamer, perhaps with a crocodile or hippopotamus guardian to go with it. An Egyptian lighthouse, a mummy chariot, an explorers campsite... there are plenty of possibilities left for this theme. Although with Indiana Jones 5 supposedly planned for release in 2012, it does seem unlikely Pharoah's Quest will be continuing. Quote

Is it related to Egypt or something? 2012's a year away, so it might be too early to tell. Good ideas, though, but as others have said, the line already appears to be "finished". We have all the treasure, the main antagonist and the antagonist's base, so it feels as if an early end was intended for this line, or at least, this particular segment of it. A lighthouse... hmm. Did they even have any lighthouses or ways of signalling? Oh yeah, and a jungle part would be great. Atlantis-like crocodile warriors and angry colourful mask people. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) Though we already have a plane in this theme it would be cool to get a big Gotha or Handly Page type plane or Zeppelin like 5956 with a big stone birid like the cobra. Also a Antartica Adventure would be cool. Edited January 2, 2011 by LEGOMAN132 Quote

Also a Antartica Adventure would be cool. I've been wishing for a Gotha bomber since 2001, but it seems unlikely since the theme takes place in mid 30's for us to see really big biplanes. I agree with you about the zeppelin however; if they follow through with the jungle theme, they might bring it in a s a set just like the old adventures line did. I noticed that unlike Atlantis this theme directly visited the "ultimate location" and if it took Atlantic 3 waves to get "King Poseidon" then it only took PQ one wave for us to get the pharaoh. Oky Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Oh no! Looks like my Amset Ra has almost collected all the treasures! If I buy the Sphinx set, my Lego world will be doomed! Sorry if this is off topic, but since there's no Action Themes Photography thread, I didn't know where else to post it. Quote
Jargo Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I still wish they'd used the longer toy story arms and legs on the Anubis guardian. It would have increased the awesomeness tenfold. Quote
prateek Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) That is an awesome shot Oky. Even if Amset-Ra had the Gold Kopesh, he only has 3 arms! You should make a museum exhibiting all the treasures! Edited January 3, 2011 by prateek Quote
Haltiamieli Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Even if Amset-Ra had the Gold Kopesh, he only has 3 arms! The golden "crystal" could be attached in the front of his headpiece - that would leave one hand for the khopesh and the other for the staff-shield combo. Quote

Sirens-of-Titan Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Beautiful Oky! I'm jealous of your collection. Did you actually buy 2 pyramids or is that "bricklink to the rescue?" Quote

You should make a museum exhibiting all the treasures! Thanks. Yeah, I've been thinking where I could put the kopesh if I had it, and I think the best way would probably be to stick the soul diamond into the nemes and stick the kopesh onto the staff. The staff might end up looking weird, but it would be the least ridiculous looking way to do it. Hm, I've always wanted to build a museum... maybe when I get the grooved round brick parts pack Temple of Atlantis I will... Did you actually buy 2 pyramids or is that "bricklink to the rescue?" No and no. All the figs in the picture used to be keychains. Edited January 3, 2011 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Now we only miss the conected sets photo! I think you can connect them all to the Piramid. Quote
Jack Bricker Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 If they came out with a jungle theme I do hope that they do a ligit Aztec pyramid with all of the trimmings. The only set close to that would have been the amazon ancient ruins and it still didn't quite cut it for me. Quote
Oky Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Now we only miss the conected sets photo! I think you can connect them all to the Piramid. I don't think they're meant to be connected. They're separate locations scattered throughout the desert. I suppose you could put all the smaller sets next to the pyramid if you wanted to, but I can't do it. I only own 7306, 7307, and 7325.
