I suggest we search bottom to top. It seems more efficient that way. I don't think we should leave someone guard at the door, they might get snatched away. That's a very foolish idea, leaving someone away from the group by themselves... I also disagree to the idea of splitting up right now. We're stronger as a group.

I'm also a tad suspicious of the Life-guard. There's commotion at the light house, and we catch her there, and we only have her word to say she isn't a Communist spy... And now she's gone off to get ready for her date, or perhaps to tend to more Communist business... Just a thought.

I plan to do a little investigating later.

If we do (or are allowed to) split up there should be at least a three buddy system.

I agree. Sorry about a few minutes ago, I got distracted by that fly on the wall.

I would like to vote going bottom up, and would also like to ask an officer to check the prison records and make sure that all the prisoners are here.

I say we go bottom up, mainly because I'd like to check something.

I'd like to ask one of the officers to make sure all prisoners are still in their cells.

Bottoms up, then. default_blink.gif

I will check the prisoner files when we reach that floor.

I'd like to enter the town hall.

While we're still standing around, I would like to look around the doorway to the Hall, in case there's anything of interest.

Gloria has already looked at the doorway, but Will looks again. There's nothing suspicious or odd there.

The townsfolk decide to move from bottom up. They enter the Town Hall, and proceed into the basement. There's a desk for the warden, and six jail cells, three on the right side of the wall, and three on the left side of the wall. Further down is an obviously locked door. There are no prisoners inside the jail cells. Next to the desk is a lamp, a garbage bin, and a file cabinet.

Chief Phelps then checks the prisoner records, but finds that nobody was supposed to be in jail.

Now that you have access to the jail cells, with a majority vote of 10, you may put someone in jail for a chapter, so long as this is not abused.

I'd like to check the trash bin, then all of the filing cabinets, and if no one else has done it, look in each of the cells for anything suspicious

The trash bin is empty, as though it has been recently emptied. The filing cabinets have the birth and death records of everyone in town, where would you like to go first? Finally, Valerie checks the jail cells. Nothing is out of place.

I would like to check the warden's desk for anything mysterious

Please be more specific.

I would first like to check the drawers of the desk and see if there are any incriminating items, then after that, look at the underside of the desk to spot anything suspicious

I'd like to check the birth records of our group. Also make sure there are no death certificates.

If I have time, I'd like to open the drawers of the Warden's desk, if there are any.

Gloria opens the drawers of the desk. There's nothing really out of place inside the desk. There are four drawers, a supplies drawer filled with pencils and paper, the key drawer, which is locked, and two other empty drawers.

I would like the jail cells described to me, and to know if they are all the same.

The jail cells each have a bed, a small toilet, a chair, a desk, and a lamp. They are all the same.

I'd like to check the birth records of our group. Also make sure there are no death certificates.

Mayor Bradford checks the birth records of the group. All the records are present and accounted for. There are a few death certificates, but the most recent one is of Laura Jefferson, Patrick's first wife who died. The records state that she fell off of a building. Mysteriously, her body was stolen from storage a few days after the death and before the funeral.

Mayor Bradford then does the same search of the Warden's desk, but finds nothing new or out of the ordinary since it was last checked a minute ago.

I would like to know if there is any odd graffiti on the walls of the cells.

The jail cells are clean, there is no graffiti.

I would also like to look for a key in the warden's desk

The warden keeps all the key's in the locked "key drawer". You'll need a key to gain access to the drawer. The only person who should have the key is Chief Phelps.

Upstairs, there is the sound of footsteps. The footsteps soon fade away, out of earshot.

My husband's first wife was murdered! *oh2* Oh boys, please keep an eye on me, I'd hate to suffer a similar fate.

Don't worry Mrs, we'll keep an eye on you... and him!

I would like to ask Chief Phelps to use his key to unlock the desk drawer and take all the keys within.

We might need that in our search of the Town Hall. Starting with the armory next door which appears to be locked.

I'd like to see if I can force any of the jail cells open, and check inside them. I'd like to look on the walls of the cells, incase of ingrained messages.

You could at least remember why I was a widow when we met. :cry_sad: But don't worry, I won't let you or the kids come to the same fate.

It was a freak accident! Who would want to murder my mother?! I miss her so much :cry_sad:

I would like to ask the Chief to open the key drawer

I was aware you were a widower when we met, but I was unaware of the circumstances. I thought it was of natural conditions, not falling off a building. Regardless, there's something about my hubby that gives me joy, so you have nothing to worry about. I'm nothing if not faithful.

Police chief, what do you know of her death?

Not any more than any of you do, I'm afraid. Like the records says, her body mysteriously disappeared before we could bury her.

I'd like to open the keys drawer and take the keys within, as well as look for anything else in the drawer.

I would like to check to see if any townsfolk have criminal or subversive histories.

You must pick specific people.

Don't worry Mrs, we'll keep an eye on you... and him!

We might need that in our search of the Town Hall. Starting with the armory next door which appears to be locked.

Chief Phelps opens the key drawer, only the keys are in there. He then closes the key drawer, and locks it again.

"I cannot take the keys out of here, and besides, the keys in there only work on the jail cells." Phelps says.

Police chief, what do you know of her death?

"After an investigation, we determined that she fell off of the building due to clumsiness." Phelps reports.

I'd like to see if I can force any of the jail cells open, and check inside them. I'd like to look on the walls of the cells, incase of ingrained messages.

Patrick tries to force open a jail cell, but cannot, as they're securely fastened.
