ZORK64 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Wasn't that already mentioned one page ago? Anyway, are there any news about the "Build your own Hero"-Business? Quote
The Crazy One Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I'm so excited. My friend has Furno 2.0 and Breeze 2.0. I reckon switching Stormer's and Breeze's spine pieces will make Breeze look a bit more feminine, but it doesn't relly bother me for now. So, I'll do a little poke around for them Monday. If I can I will get Stormer, Furno and Breeze. Looking to the future, I am really looking foward to seeing if Bulk and Stringer make an appearance in the summer wave. I loved Bulk, and hopefully and orange and black Stringer would appear. I also wonder if they will make another 6 heros, as the wave systems seem to work differently from Bionicle as of now. To be honest, just three heros including Bulk and Stringer would be great, and vehicles with some specials. Quote
vexorian Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Anyone knows if the combiners' instructions are around? I think combining a hero with himself may be a good way to get something without the back screw up Quote
VBBN Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Hero Factory 2.0 is now available on TRU's website. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 And to this I say "Awwww yeeeeeah" Quote
The Dor Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Except Evo, he's mysteriously absent. Anyone know if they are in TRU stores yet? Quote
LordGalewind Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Except Evo, he's mysteriously absent. Anyone know if they are in TRU stores yet? Yes, I've seen many of the 2011 sets at my local toys r us. After Black Friday and Super Saturday the shelves are cleared, so they stock up on next years items. Quote

VBBN Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Well I know I didnt get the opportunity to be first to review some of these figures like I did with the first round of HF, but alas i do plan on reviewing whatever sets I get, so. Might get fire lord, as much as I hate him, for the parts. Quote

SpiderSpaceman Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Ordered nex, evo, surge, and drilldozer from TRU. spent a day picking, lost my cart, checked to see if evo was available - repicked, and spent forever weighing the shipping fees against waiting to find them in stores. so I've paid $7 extra and still probably have to wait a week. also drilldozer is my least favorite villain but I get all the parts shared by the villains, and the excellent ball/beam/peg piece. I will probably bust them all open simultaneously and MOC the day away. Quote

Speaking of Drilldozer and MOCing, are the 8-long grey armour piece and the black hockey vest piece exclusive to Drilldozer, for the Winter 2011 line at least? Those look like interesting pieces, if they are exclusive to Drilldozer for now I'll get him for sure. Quote

Currently they are (unless the Fire Lord has them), but it's almost certain that they'll be reused for the next wave of sets. They're hardly pieces that are specific to Drilldozer's character. Quote
Taaron Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Hey hey guys. Got in my Toys R Us order of Hero Factory 2.0 earlier today. Aanchir Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Just was googling for flash content on LEGO.com, and figured I'd share the links for Hero Factory-related stuff. Stormer 2.0 product page animation Furno 2.0 product page animation Evo 2.0 product page animation Nex 2.0 product page animation Surge 2.0 product page animation Breez 2.0 product page animation Drilldozer product page animation Jetbug product page animation Nitroblast product page animation Fire Lord product page animation Stormer main page animation All stuff we've seen before, but still pretty cool. Figured if I posted here it'd be easy enough to find my way back to it. Quote
ZORK64 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 It's really neat to see all these animations again. I really love the animation of Stormer (both of them). I can't wait to get the new sets... -.- Quote
Refia Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Is it me, or is Fire Lord's hand that holds his launcher bent at an impossible angle when the animation's done? Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Is it me, or is Fire Lord's hand that holds his launcher bent at an impossible angle when the animation's done? Sure looks that way to me too. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Sure looks that way to me too. I have no doubt that the animations are somewhat careless with that sort of thing-- after all, the extra joints used for suspension on the villain sets are just dangling loose in most of the animations. For Nitroblast they even went and treated it as a seperate weapon-- brilliantly executed in the final animation, of course, but not at all loyal to the set (where it is apparently used to support one of the arms). Darkness Falls Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I was hoping Front could perhaps elaborate on this, but I wonder if the builders for the Hero Factory line had difficulty adapting to the new pieces, which resulted in the lackluster leg design on the Fire Lord. In any case, I hope their aptitude and design process improves and forms new ideas in regards to the construction of the Titans. Quote
Front Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I was hoping Front could perhaps elaborate on this, but I wonder if the builders for the Hero Factory line had difficulty adapting to the new pieces, which resulted in the lackluster leg design on the Fire Lord. In any case, I hope their aptitude and design process improves and forms new ideas in regards to the construction of the Titans. We are surely not done evolving this new building style. A lot of building methods and new pieces have been candidates for the winter 2011 launch, and only some made it. I have pieces on my table at work, cast in plastic from prototype moulds, that will probably never see production. Others may join the club of released parts later on. The final design you see on the torsos and bones also went though a couple of loops before we were happy. It is hard to predict how the pieces behave when you only investigate them in your 3D Cad program and analysis tools, and build with Rapid Prototyped elements. Future sets will be seen by fans as more mature, building wise. That's my prediction. But there probably will not be huge changes to how a sub-10-dollar set is put together. Torso, arms, legs, and there you go Erland, Part Design Quote
Refia Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Torso, arms, legs, and there you go Is there a rule that says how much arms and legs a set has to have? A centauros-style set would be nice for a villain set in the future, IMHO. Or even as a hero, now that would be original. ^^ Quote
