Is there a rule that says how much arms and legs a set has to have? A centauros-style set would be nice for a villain set in the future, IMHO. Or even as a hero, now that would be original. ^^

With the new pieces it is much easier than with Bionicle pieces, to make 6, 8 or 10-legged creatures. You can build a torso with a bit of flexibility, by using bones etc. and attach legs, arms, heads where needed.

A Centaurus creature, that would be a niece challenge.

Be sure to pass the idea along. ;3

That gives me an idea. A fully articulated torso would not be hard to do - ball joints for the clavicles (bone between your shoulder and neck), chest, and waist would give a figure insane articulation.

Of course, a new flexible armour system would have to be designed, but that would be totally wicked.

That reminds me to make some photos of that three-headed centaur monster-MOC I built some time ago and put them on MOCpages... but yeah, the new system would make things like this easier. When I look at the skeletons of the torsi, I wonder if I could use them as the basic for giant hands, but I'm not really skilled at building giant MOCs.

Hey guys, I'm starting to wonder, are the heroes in stock yet? I mean in stores, not online. And when will they be out in say, Hong Kong (if anyone has a clue)

:o

I know they've been seen in some Toys 'R' Us stores in the US, but that's all I'm aware of in terms of availability. And none of the stores I've been to locally have them. No idea when other countries can expect them to show up.

I also know that photos have started showing up on Brickshelf and Flickr, so that's a little visual confirmation that yes, they're ending up in the hands of people other than those lucky individuals who got the sets early for reviewing purposes. I hope to see more full reviews of these sets, though, especially Fire Lord (the only one who hasn't gotten a full review yet).

(the only one who hasn't gotten a full review yet).

Sorry, I had a really busy last week and a half. Hopefully we'll have a BZP Fire Lord review Christmas weekend, if I can get it to Andrew on time.

In regards to availability, they're out in my local TRU, I picked up Breez 2.0, Evo 2.0, Surge 2.0, Nitroblast, Jetbug, and Fire Lord a couple days ago. They had ab huge amount of heroes, mostly Nexes and Evos, with the occasional Breez or Surge, I didn't see any Stormers or Furnos, though, wich was a shame, as I wanted to get them instead of Breez and Evo.

Nitroblasts flamethrower really doesn't need the extra supports, though, it handles fine on it's own, so I'm puzzled as to why the designers did this, since realy it's only purpose is to restrict the arms movement drastically. It wouldn't've been hard to change it so that the tank remained, but was attached directly to the torso, instead of attaching to the limb piece on the back, as well as remiving the arm that was attached to the torso and replacing it with the flamethrower arm, Nitroblast looks much cleaner without the extra arm, and the Flamethrower is no longer restricted.

Fire Lord Review:

Herofactory 2011 is pretty cool, if controversial.

After seeing that review, I'm fairly convinced that Fire Lord looks bad, but has excellent pieces, so is a must buy for me.

Do you think that is a viable marketing strategy? Making a set that doesn't look the best yet has a wide range of useful pieces, to encourage people to take it apart and try building their own creations using the new 2011 building system.

The new HF sets hit shelves in Germany this week.

With the sole exception of Stormer 2.0, the new heroes and the new villians (including Fire Lord) are available at Müller (a drug store, most of them also got sections for multimedia or toys).

Each hero costs 9,99 €, the small villians 12,99 € and Fire Lord 19,99 €.

I'm gonna get Drilldozer tomorrow and maybe Fire Lord, and - if I got lucky to find him at another Müller - Stormer 2.0.

You guys can't even imagine how happy I am to get the new sets that early, since I was already afraid they won't be released here until march.

Well it is LEGO.

After seeing that review, I may consider buying Flord for the parts. Though I think I'll wait until after I see summer sets to decide, since I wouldn't want to buy him then have another, better set with the same amount of (or more) good pieces.

Was cool seeing a Firelord review. The guy doing it surely knows quite a bit about the toy.

I'm not sure if the top of the thighs can't be fixed by adding a simple Bionicle piece or maybe include a bit of Technic building too. The designer should have managed that, even though time was limited.

This is our last day at work tomorrow before Christmas, but maybe I'll find time to "mod" Firelord. Will let you know if I find something simple and sweet.

Something struck me about the future of Hero Factory.

I'm thinking this new system will end up like the Inika torso - using the same frame every year, with new armour, weapon, and mask molds, etc. Not that this is a bad thing, I love both the Inika torso and HF 2011 build - but like the Inika torso, it's going to get quite bland and boring.

Just an opinion.

I'd rather have a special edition Villain over a Hero. SE sets don't get enough recoloured parts to produce a Hero in a new colour, so a SE Hero will have mostly the same pieces as a normal Hero set.

...hence why that video convinced so many people.

I saw that one on Flickr before I saw it as a video, so I knew (or at least guessed) that it was a MOC. But that was still a sneaky maneuver to give a false impression to so many people!
