Apparently Scorpio says "Scorpion" on the box. Remains to be seen which of the two is correct.

My guess is that the box names are outdated placeholder names, which were replaced by names that have been cleared for use. Along with Scorpion, there is also Wasp, Mamut and NN. Scorpion and Wasp are very self-explanatory and regular, Mamut sounds like a Mammoth-based name that was replaced for a name in the style of HF villains, and I don't know why Fangz was considered being called NN...

Mamut means Mammoth in my language (romanian). default_classic.gif

2.0 hasn't hit stores yet and I'm already thinking about passing it up in favor of all the 3.0 sets. BTW loving Furno's design.

All the heroes look great + Stringer and Bulk are back. Yay! Also loving the dinosaur-themed designs on them and the idea that Rocka 3.0 somehow gets upgraded.

Cant wait for the story on this part.

Waspix? Raw-Jaw? Fangz? Rocka XL? Lol, what? I think Hero Factory's set names have really jumped the shark this wave - in retrospect, it kinda makes the problems I once had with some of the Bionicle names seem rather minor in comparison.

However, unlike the rest of you, I am in no rush to judge these sets based on these ultra-blurry images. I think it's a mistake to assume sets like Witch Doctor will be awesome when it's too hard to tell whether the construction is solid. Who knows, he could be one of the best titans we've ever gotten, or he could be another Fire Lord-sized failure - it's simply not possible to determine this for sure from the images, as opposed to some of the images for themes like Alien Conquest and Star Wars. :sceptic:

Good luck with the 8 month wait then! You should at least buy the Heroes that don't have 3.0 versions such as Evo and Surge, or a few of the villain sets - they all have the new ball-and-socket system that's worth trying out.

Speaking of skipping sets, my mind is currently set on buying Fire Lord for the parts, unless Toyfair 2011 changes reveals the contents of the new titans differently. Witch Doctor and Rocka XL look like they use less useful armour and less Liftarm 1 x 2 with Ball Joint Straight pieces, making Fire Lord a better parts pack than them. Plus, if I were to buy those sets I'd probably keep them built.

NN is often used as unnamed in my language. In English it even works as short for "No Name", so I think that it may also work that way in Danish.

Obviously when better pictures come out we will change our opinions to suit, because as you say it would be a massive mistake to judge a set when you can only make out a few details, and the set is likely to change a bit anyway. There's nothing wrong with a fun bit of speculation using these pictures though, because otherwise we may as well forget the pictures exist until someone finds the final set in-store.

I the Witch Doctor's case, he seems to be a giant skeleton robot, in which case massive holes and exposed machinery would suit the character. Unless there are some massive proportion or stability issues in the design, I think it's hard to go wrong with a set called Witch Doctor.

That's true, and I've got the sneaking suspicion that I've seen it being used before, similar to XX being used as the piece count.

Yeah, well buying the 2.0 heroes is gonna be a problem unless I can find a way to make some quick cash. Any bright ideas sir?

Ok so Rocka 3.0 is pretty clearly yellow, taking over Evo's role. But Rocka XL looks pretty gold to me.

Rocka 3.0 is about the same yellow that the preliminary canister Mata Nui was, so I'm hoping that he(/she?) will be Yellow-Orange. You could be right about Rocka XL though. :cry_happy: Last time there was a set meant to be gold, there were only 4 gold pieces, but in this set there aren't that many gold pieces either. I can only count 4 different pieces that need recolouring in gold.

While its perfectly fine to wait until you see better pictures, I can assure you the legs design has been somewhat altered on the Witch Doctor in order to give him pistons, which could potentially add bulk to the sides of his thighs. Now, we won't be jumping to any conclusions, but that is an interestign design choice and we'll see if that hasn't fixed the problem with the Titan legs.

Rocka XL, on the other hand, has Fire lord legs, but I think they would just fine on the design, it's a little thuggish with the larger claws on the top. The red beastie (claw-jaw?) has quite an interesting design if what I'm seeing is what the body structure will be like. And yes, yes, YES Waspix has triple-jointed legs, which is something I have wanted to see from this line since the new joint system debuted (so, not that long ago.).

Titans:

Rocka XL: Unlike most, I don't deeply hate the thighs, which seem to be similar to Fire Lord's. It looks good and has some good parts, and I really like the hand.

Scorpion: Never got any Rahi, this looks great.

Witch Doctor: The most epic of all the titans for 2011. Staff is awesome and he looks awesome.

Villains:

Waspix: Love child of Gorast and Bitil. Cool. If he is using the new stick-torso, I am impressed.

Raw-Jaw: Looks okay from what I can see.

Fangz: Cool, looks very cool. Those spikes would be good on Rahkshi.

Here guys I sized up the photos to 1500 and sharpened them, hopefully you can make out some truff;

I noticed that Raw-jaw's head isnt visible in the pic, its next to the big teeth-looking thing, which is actually his claw

I still think that Nex 3.0 has the same Helmet as of Raw-Jaw

Wait... 3.0 already? That was fast.

The green custom armour looks ridiculous on all the Heroes. All of them are NOT going on my Heroes.

Rocka: Ridiculous mask. Weapon resembles Nex's. I'll pass on this one.

Nex: That mask is wicked, though I can't see the blade weapon clearly. Looks pretty cool, I might get him.

Stormer: Best mask of all, but I don't like the weapon. Hmm.

Bulk: The mask looks weird, though I like the blade weapons.

Stringer: My favourite. Awesome mask, badass claw weapon.

Furno: The mask looks odd, but cool nontheless. I don't like how his weapon is the Winter 2011 blades. Though his shoulder wings look cool.

Rocka XL: Wait... So Rocka turned evil? Another Fire Lord, I'll pass.

Witch Doctor: Same as Rocka XL, it's a pass. Hate those legs. Although everything else about him is awesome. That staff is wicked.

Scorpion: Looks pretty meh to me, I'll think about it.

Is it just me, or are Raw-Jaw and Fangz regular $12.99 villains, just with their box flipped? By far, these 3 villains are the best sets in HF 2011 so far, as a collective group.

Waspix: Nice use of Ben 10 hands there. I probably wouldn't get him anyway, but he's cool. Just like Jetbug is HF's Bitil, he looks to be HF's Gorast.

Raw-Jaw: From what I can see, he looks great. That huge mouth is awesome, and I love the colour scheme. A definite buy.

Fangz: Also another buy. I missed on Spinax, I want a Lego Technic hound already! The Rahkshi spikes are also really cool, as a huge fan of the Rahkshi this is a must buy.

All in all this is a great move for HF 2011. The fire fighting thing was pretty lame, but this jungle mission of sorts seems to be great. As a sucker for insectoid sets, I'm loving this.

Thanks for the pics!

I have to say that the new villans are the best HF villans I have seen so far. I'm interested in Witch Doctor. I hope they'll fix him a bit because I might really get him as my first HF set. Scorpio looks cool too.

The other villans are ok but I'll wait Toy Fair before saying more.

The heroes are basically clones of the previous lines. Yes, there are some new pieces but that doesn't change the building much.

He's the optimus prime of the series. But to me, he's a plain annoying character in the show, and I'd like to have something new, instead of seeing him for the third time.

For the record, Optimus Prime is NOT lame. I take offense in that. He is the single most epic character in the history of fictional characters. (I know this sounds a bit harsh, but I mean no harm. Just trying to get my point across. :classic: )

I have to disagree about the staleness thing as well - I really don't mind recurring characters. However, I do agree people may find them boring over time, so maybe Lego could pull another Toa Nuva, have the original gang go MIA for a few years and then bring them back.

Since I'm getting HF for pieces:

Rocka: Lame helmet. Not going to buy him.

Nex:Awesome helmet.Awesome weapons. A definete buy.

Stormer: I'll buy him first.

Bulk: Definetly getting him.

Stringer: I'll wait for finalised pics, but brobably won't buy him.

Furno: Nice helm. Probably will buy him.

Rocka XL: Nope. He's Fire Lord's hero brother.

Waspix: YES!!

Raw-Jaw: Same as Stringer.

Fangz: HF Spinax. I'll get him as well.

Scorpio(n): Can't pick between him and Witch Doctor.

Witch Doctor: Can't pick between him and Scorpio(n). I'll wait for reviews/ finalised pics.

On second thought, I just might get Waspix. I just noticed his stinger, which is pretty cool and hasn't been seen before in Bionicle/HF sets. Plus if I'm not wrong it's the first official use of the ball joint in the crotch on the new torso.

That's true, and I've got the sneaking suspicion that I've seen it being used before, similar to XX being used as the piece count.

The XX has been used for the Summer 2009 BIONICLE/Glatorian Legends vehicles. I think they used XXX for the Kaxium.

I'm wondering about their release date. There stands "August 2011", but on the same pics, the release for Fire Lord and his buddies is "February 2011". Hmmm...

I know, it's just when I see people saying this like "he rocks" or "that design looks as bad as Fire Lord" based on poor-quality pictures, I can't help but chuckle. Not saying that everyone in this topic is doing that, but it still is kind of funny to read all these sizeable posts when we can barely even make out half of the molds the sets are using.

Then again, this is still a far cry from some toy fanbases, especially since there's a mixture of positive and negative comments. I sure can't say the same thing about a certain action figure line filled with "trukks" and "munkies," anyway.

I wonder if by 2012 we will have Hero4.0? Soon enough we will have Hero 23.0...

Still the new lines are very good, especially it seems TLG are taking some risks (Rahi, Rotating Character Line-Ups) which will hopefully pay off in their profit margin.

Aswell I just bought the Hero1.0 heroes and some villans on sale on Legoshop.co.uk. It's cost me alot of money but with them all half price, I hope their worth it.
