VBBN Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 For the record, Optimus Prime is NOT lame. I take offense in that. He is the single most epic character in the history of fictional characters. (I know this sounds a bit harsh, but I mean no harm. Just trying to get my point across. ) I have to disagree about the staleness thing as well - I really don't mind recurring characters. However, I do agree people may find them boring over time, so maybe Lego could pull another Toa Nuva, have the original gang go MIA for a few years and then bring them back. I did not imply Optimus was lame, I am a huge fan of transformers and have no problem with him recurring, I was simply making a comparison that it seems furno and stormer will be in every series regardless o the theme or characters. And yes I dont mind the recurring, But I would like it if they at least gave us a skip, like they did with Bulk and Stringer, or at least throw stormer and furno into a biggr set so that the indiviual heros give us a new ice and fire themed set. ---Vertea--- Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 huh. Scorpion has a bitil head..... And I really like the whole mechanical wildlife angle they're going for. Makes for lots of imaginative playtime. Quote

You know, now that I read God Iron's post... I wonder if by 2012 we will have Hero4.0? Soon enough we will have Hero 23.0... I think I'm starting to see what you mean. Recurring characters would get a bit boring after a few years. huh. Scorpion has a bitil head..... And I really like the whole mechanical wildlife angle they're going for. Makes for lots of imaginative playtime. Seems Waspix has a Bitil head as well. I'm sure that will change, these are just prelims. Oh, and I love the detraction from vehicles to creatures too. Just relized Waspix has triple jointed legs. Pretty cool for a canister set. When I get him I'll try to pull of a 'chicken leg' pose. It would look cool, and Waspix wouldn't be ridiculously tall too. On the topic of Waspix - looks like he has Jetbug-esque 'wings', except instead of jets they are armour pieces with that red Rahkshi spike piece. Are those supposed to be wings? They look really odd to me. Edited December 27, 2010 by Lockon Stratos Quote

Hmm, you're right. It does really resemble Bitil's, though, except for the forehead and eyes. I don't mind, really, Bitil is awesome. Can't wait to see what Raw-Jaw really looks like, I can only make out his huge claw from what we can see. Plus I do hope they do something about Fangz's fangs (lol) - the spears as fangs just don't cut (pun not intended) for me. Everything else is great though. Quote
VBBN Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The Bitil-Look alike head is used on Waspix, Scorpion, and Possibly a flip mask for Raw-Jaw Quote
Jouster Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The Bitil-Look alike head is used on Waspix, Scorpion, and Possibly a flip mask for Raw-Jaw You mean Fangz.....Raw-jaw has a different helmet. Quote
VBBN Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 You mean Fangz.....Raw-jaw has a different helmet. Look at Raw Jaws tusks. See the two red lines? those are the "mandibles" that the bitil look alike has, and the shape of the red you can see(that isnt covered by the confidental sign) Quote

See the two red lines? those are the "mandibles" that the bitil look alike has, and the shape of the red you can see(that isnt covered by the confidental sign) But if you look above those lines you can see the head is a bit different from the bitil look alike one. I still believe it's a different helmet, mostly because I don't see LEGO using the same helmet for 4 sets. But you might be right, we'll see when HQ pics of these sets are out. Quote

The Dor Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) Look at Raw Jaws tusks. See the two red lines? those are the "mandibles" that the bitil look alike has, and the shape of the red you can see(that isnt covered by the confidental sign) The red lines are just as likely to be more tusks, tusks like Nex has. The face is clearly different. It has a distinct brow. They also point downward as opposed to forward. You can also tell from the absence of absence of the top two holes that Waspix and Scorpio have. They also have a different shape. Raw Jaw has only triangles. The mandibles are a significantly different shape. They are also angled, in a different plane than Raw Jaw's. The top of the mandible-head is really similar to the shin guard introduced in '09. Raw Jaw totally has the same kind of brow that Furno the First had. Edited December 27, 2010 by The Dor Quote
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I STILL think that raw jaw has Nex's helmet. Quote
Once In A Lifetime Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hey, is that Bulk and Stringer I see? So there really was hope for them. Although this brings up the question "Where are there 2.0's?", I guess that's left up to us. Quote
The Crazy One Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Again, I do not see where you lot are coming from when asking where are the older versions of the characters. It's obviously they just weren't sent on the same mission as the years story focused on. Anyway, if you wanted every version of the set Hero Factory would be just Toa teams again, which were repetitive. Atleast there's some movement here. Quote
Front Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I don't get all the fuss about the numbering. Say 2.0 or 3.0, so what, it's a release number. Look, in 5 years or so it will be easy to tell which year a Hero is from. Assuming that the numbering will continue, and even that HF continues. ... Now where was the moc I was working on ? Ok, here. Erland aka Front Quote

Look, in 5 years or so it will be easy to tell which year a Hero is from. I agree, but I think it might get a little repetitive. And it doesn't make all that much sense, from a storyline standpoint, for Hero Factory to stay a certain way for a long time, then suddenly upgrade their heroes every six months to a new "version." and even that HF continues. If Hero Factory were to end, would the new building style end as well? Or would there be another series that uses it? I could care less about the HF series, but I am in love with the new building system. Quote
Pedro G Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!A Stringer 3.0!!!!!That is what I was waiting for!!! :sweet: Oh,yeah.Hm....did anyone notice, that the new special hands on the Heroes have Devastator-hand(the same piece what was used for Hydraxon's fingers) fingers with large claws on it?Bulk aint Bulky. Stormer looks OK,but they should get rid of him(and Furno too, they're over-used)Rocka.This set is dis-gus-ting.XD Roka means fox in hungarian. :D Nex is OK too.His helmet looks cool. But,what the heck is that green armor piece doing in every set? Rocka XL: -.-" Withc Doc:Looks cool, but couldn't they find out a better name?Witch doc.Hm... Raw-Jaw:OMG!Gorilla armed Mamut!Bad. Fangz:Well I think I'll buy this set together with Stringer 3.0 . Waspix:Well,well...'11 styled Bitil head. Edit:Raw-Jew. Sorry bad tiping. Edited December 28, 2010 by Pedro G Quote

Front Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Some building facts: The 2011 pieces are highly integrable with LEGO TECHNIC. You can build around a "BIONICLE" ball ø10.25 with two Technic beams. The beams needs to be locked to keep distance between them fixed. This secures a fit of the "BIONICLE" ball inside a Technic construction. You can also build technic beams or frames onto several bone pieces in the new system, using reguler black 2M bushings. All this could also be done with Bionicle pieces equiped with balls and Technic holes, but it is way easier and standardized now. The picture below shows Flight-Dragon, a little prehistoric four-legged fantasy animal, equipped with a dangerous tail, two big wings and adjustable thrust fans. It is constructed of new bones integrated with some TECHNIC elements. The new shells have been added on the legs, tail, and head, and have been fitted with TECHNIC and SYSTEM bricks. A single 2004 Bionicle element is used in the tail. Erland, Part Design Edited December 28, 2010 by Front Quote
