Darkness Falls Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Wasn't Bionicle episodic in the first place...? If you hadn't followed the story for the entire run, the sets would pretty much seem like, "Episode 1: Heroes. Episode 2: Bug-things, then Smoother Heroes. Episode 3: Updated Bug-things, then Lizards. Episode 4: Roboticized-Heroes, then Lizards. Episode 5: Monsters, then Spiders. Episode 6: Thugs, then Organic-Heroes. Episode 7: Aquatic-creatures, then Aquatic-themed-Heroes-with-guns. Episode 8: Phantom-creatures, then Flying-Heroes. Episode 9: Gladiators and-that's-pretty-much-it. And there wasn't really an Episode 10." If anything, Bionicle started out relying on story heavily and then turned to a more themed, episodic nature with the sets- something Hero Factory is doing too. Hero Factory's new joint system allows for a lot of different set designs, though, and they will probably revisit some of the themes Bionicle had because the parts are now much more functional. Quote

Well not entirely. Sure, they had certain themes to each wave, but so does hero factory(First wave was, well, futuristic, second wave is fire, third wave is jungle themed, etc) That plays a part in the storyline, but we are looking at the overall basis. For example, Sure the enemies were different in each series of bionicle. But, the storyline of mata nui and Makuta was there, provided the backbone. Some variations came into play, Like metru nui, but for the most part 2001-2003 and 2006-2010 were all one, solid, storyline brought together by canons and comics and the books obviously. --{VBBN}-- Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 one mentioned the fact that the reason Bionicle started, is because they wanted to us he Slizer style of building with a strong story. You're from the US, call them Throwbots, dammit! Quote

Hmm...possibly, but BIONICLE was much clearer about linking story arcs together. We always knew how long it had been, what had happened etc. With Hero Factory I have no clue of any of those. That still doesn't bother me though. Edited December 31, 2010 by The crazy one Quote
Front Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) I've fixed the open back problem. Panels are carried by four of the new bones, though can move around to many positions. 2011 will be a great year for building of figures. Front Edited December 31, 2010 by Front Quote

Front Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 a little obstructive don't you think? probably takes away from the posability. It's supposed to be a joke, a reply to all the complaining about heroes having open backs. This one surely haven't. Hes got a suspended big shield. Quote

Nice find! I'm surprised I didn't notice this, mostly because of the fact that I'm a veteran of Biotube (YouTube). But I don't think those clips are from the episdoes. It's like the one from the Meltdown and Von Nebula commercials. Quote
Brickthing Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I think you guys might want to see thisc : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbvsVgJPK48 That's the same game that is advertised in the instruction booklet, so it's probably what the Hero canister codes are for. It looks like an interesting game, but I don't know what I'm more concerned about - the Hero tower in the background, or the cherries exploding from the villains... But I don't think those clips are from the episdoes. It's like the one from the Meltdown and Von Nebula commercials. I think that is probably the case, but it's hard to tell from the quality of the recording. I liked the walls of parts in different colours in the background, which is more evidence for the build-your-own-hero direction Hero Factory is taking. Quote

Although it was still cool seeing the sets in animation. :) Quote

Kenta Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 When should we expect new pictures of the summer heros and villains? Like, when did we see new pics of last years heros? Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 When should we expect new pictures of the summer heros and villains? Like, when did we see new pics of last years heros? well... there are somewhat blurry and small leaked preliminary pictures linked to earlier in this topic - just a couple pages back. The better and lego sanctioned - yet still preliminary - pictures will start rolling in in the middle of february, in the form of toy fair coverage. Quote
VBBN Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Aye Feburary shall be Toy fair which will be you best bet. Toy fair will of course be fully covered on my flickr as always. Probably will remain prototypes though, expect those green bits to still be on the 3.0 heros. Quote
Kenta Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Im pretty sure all of you seen most toy fair pictures of bionicle.. so i ask you this.Out of all the prototype pictures of past bionicles that were released, which one changed the most from prototype to actual set. Quote

Changed on figures are usually minor modifications in parts not the actual design of the figure and the last two waves of photos we got from hero factory the only prototype things about them were the printed pieces(of which the first wave did not have) and so i'm guessing these designs are just about final other than the green bits, provided they will be printed bits. VBBN Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 hmmmm no vehicles again? As far as we know, no. unless one appears as a special store edition or as a "secret" set which rarely ever happens, we will have to wait for the 4th wave for any hope of vehicles. Quote
