I don't see in what 'In French' is a problem. How the French fans make when the videos are published in English ? Well, this teaser was offered to our French fans site by LEGO France in High Definition (it's better) : This trailer is awesome. Highly whole episodes on TV. Well, this teaser was offered to our French fans site by LEGO France in High Definition (it's better) : This trailer is awesome. Highly whole episodes on TV. There is a problem for the people that do not understand french. For example, most people from the US don't learn french at school, they learn spanish instead. I can't say it is a problem for me because I do understand french, and I also speak a little bit of french. Anyway, how do you people from BIONIFIGS always find trailers first? Do you get them from a website? Or is it a secret? Edited January 30, 2011 by Jouster Quote
Kenta Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Nice find, anyways, any news on new summer pictures...its been quite a while since we got a new picture.. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Got my first Hero Factory sets today (Stormer 2.0 and Breez 2.0). My twin brother also got the new Furno and Evo sets. Overall, I'm impressed. The snap-together build is fun, and the part designs are very pragmatic. It's also a lot easier to make something that's unique-looking and visually appealing with limited parts than it was with BIONICLE. For instance, I was able to make a somewhat bestial-looking humanoid using only Breez's parts. Adding Stormer's parts, I could add an extra joint to the legs and give him/her/it more symmetrical arms, weapons, and a tail. The set designs are very attractive. The sets also allow for a wide range of poses, and the proportions feel a lot more natural than most BIONICLE sets. Just tried seeing how Breez looks with the narrower shoulders, and she does indeed look more feminine, but I wouldn't say she looks "better" and I actually in fact prefer the broader shoulders so she looks less "delicate". Her helmet, by the way, works wonderfully for her, just as Stormer's does for him. When we got back to our dorm the two of us MOCed for a while with the parts, then built the combination models from the website. They were both fairly attractive. The one built from Breez and Stormer, though, had very limited poseability in its right hand due to a collision between the armor and the weapon. Overall, these sets were definitely worth every penny. For $8 US the build is certainly more straightforward than Toa Metru or Inika builds tended to be, but they're also fun and unique, using well-crafted and versatile parts. I look forward to getting a villain set to complement my heroes and create more MOCing opportunities... in the meantime, I'm sure I'll have lots of fun using Stormer's parts in a SPIII MOC (or Furno's and Breez's in an Atlantis MOC). I'm looking forward to the possibilities! Quote
Aedai Rivin Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Has anyone here thought of possible themes for the future? Like an underwater theme, or an ice, desert, underground, carnival, sky, mountain, museum, steampunk( ),medivial, or others? Aedai Rivin Quote

Aedai Rivin Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 oh man we need steampunk....HEROES ARE TRAPPED IN A TIME MACHINE AND ARE SEND TO THE PAST! Well, since heroes are sent through space and time to save the day, they wouldn't even need a time machine. A probable explenation for this Steampunk would be to help blend in to the natives. To more explain myself, a Carnival theme would have villians be the rides and a museum theme would have a skeletal t-rex. Aedai Rivin Quote
Kenta Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I just read a preview magazine of the toy fair...it seems that it said that in 2011 hero factory will meet the villians of the universe with different elements and stuff like that. Quote

It's nothing new. We already know about the "combi" models, and the new building system. The villains of the Universe thing is kind of interesting. Anyway, I wonder if we will see any other pictures of the summer 2011 Hero Factory sets before Toy Fair. Quote

Yes, its nothing new but it does confirm that we do have a tv series for 2011 only 3 episodes due to 3 villians plus firelord. Quote

Kenta Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 It seems lego is doing a far better job at hiding most of the pictures.. Quote
Jouster Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 It seems lego is doing a far better job at hiding most of the pictures.. True, maybe because there aren't any other pictures. Or atleast I think so. Even if there are, LEGO already told the people that find this kind of stuff to not tell anyone about new pictures untill ToyFair. Atleast that's my theory. Quote
Mesonak Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) Considering the first out of box Hero Factory 2010 pictures came from the Canadian Toy and Hobby Fair, which is actually happening right now... Hopefully we'll see new pictures in a day or two. -Mesonak Edited January 30, 2011 by Mesonak Quote

Like an underwater theme, or an ice, desert, underground, carnival, sky, mountain, museum, steampunk( ),medivial, or others? Aedai Rivin Absolutely - I've got an entire list, although mostly elemental. I personally hope that Hero Factory covers the elements that weren't covered in BIONICLE first. They're doing Fire and Jungle, so I'm hoping for Ice, Rock/desert and Earth/underground in the future. Or perhaps the HF themes are based on the Slizer/Roborider elements? It seems lego is doing a far better job at hiding most of the pictures.. No they're not. Catalogue scans for August sets were leaked unusually early last year, as well as probably finalized images from the Creep Crushers game. The reason we aren't seeing any new images around now is because we've already seen them. (On the bright side, they were leaked at a time competitors couldn't have been expecting them, so the leaked images are now more under control by the time they are usually expected.) Quote

Well, I sort of feel that Hero Factory is a combonation of Bionicle and Pokemon; in that any possible theme they could look into, they will. That's why I suggested Steampunk, museum, and medivial. Although having a Gothic Mansion style wave would rock, as well as a WWII style line. I can almost promise that our next wave will be underwater. And out of all of this, we're mostly seeing the theme through the villians, as the heroes are kind of limited in design. Aedai Rivin Quote

Aedai Rivin Bionicle looked into many themes in it's later years (underwater, air (+bug/bat) and desert/Roman), but Hero Factory definitely seems discrete about it. Because Hero Factory is set in the real world future, I think medieval, carnival (evil clowns might not be the best ) and other strongly Earth-culture related themes are possible. I doubt we'll see a WWI/II based line though. I agree that an underwater theme is quite likely, although I think an Ice theme would be possible as well. It's unlikely that the next group of villains after Savage Planet will be primal animals again, and it would be a shame to have an underwater theme were the villains aren't evil sea creatures (more so than the vaguely humanoid Barraki). The only problem with an Ice theme is that the Heroes would end up using fire weapons against Ice villains, which is the inverse of the current wave. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I was just checking how tall a Hero Factory 2.0 hero is (I was hoping to sketch one out on graph paper) and discovered something very intriguing. The 2.0 heroes are 21.5 modules tall (in Stormer's case, 22.5 modules). This is almost the exact same height as the Toa Mata. The width, too, is the same as with the Toa Mata, varying between 7 and 9 modules wide (not counting armor on the arms). Even the piece count is similar-- most of the Toa Mata have more pieces than the Hero Factory 2.0 heroes, but the average is not off by much: the Toa Mata had an average piece count of 36 (brought up considerably by the outlier that was Pohatu), while the 2.0 heroes have an average piece count of around 30. Most notable in my book, though, is the price. The 2.0 heroes are $7.99 each, while the Toa Mata were $7 each. So it's almost as if we've gone completely full-circle. I find that knowledge somewhat refreshing, although I'm not sure why. Maybe it just seems to bode well for Hero Factory having a long and productive span, just as BIONICLE did. Quote

Aedai Rivin Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 In response to Brickthing's post, I have sketched out how I think a carnival theme would work: Main villian would be a large pink titan with a parasol/greataxe. His alt mode would be an empty merry go round with slots for the 3 smaller villians. Henchman are merry go round steeds brought to life. There'd be a Purple dragon, a light blue fish, and a teal mermaid. They have slots both to connect to main villian and a slot for heroes to ride them. They draw off their hero core energy. Heroes would be normal as usual, but have certain "pun" pieces like joke pieces to hold (cotton candy/popcorn) as well as masks to put over their normal faces (like a third piece to the jungle planet hero heads) that would resemble new years eve masks (like bunny and cat) Main villian is trying to get off carnival planet, but doesn't have enough power. So sends out minions to capture heroes so that he can drain their hero cores and get off this abadandoned carnival planet. I thought that up with little effort. I'm sure there are other themes such as this that could easily be made. So if this is rather messy; it was hastily written. Aedai Rivin Quote
