---Vertea--- Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 As much as I would love that theme, I don't think it would test well with the target audience. But it IS awfully nice in one's imagination... Still, tho. And underwater theme would be cool. HF style scuba gear and GitD parts are reason enough to want it, I should think. The thing about HF is that their villains can really be anything. And they are not very limited in locale, so there is no way to anticipate what will come next. Quote
Kenta Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I was hoping for a destroyed spaceship or lost abandoned planet. The villains would be alien-like, and have future looking weapons/guns and have tails, and have a gun that can shoot mini bullets of plastic rubber. The main villain can be like the queen of the aliens/villians. The heroes will have guns and have lasers. It would be like space police only more of an alien/predator movie theme. Very unlikely theme but would be nice. Quote
InfiniToa Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Has anyone here thought of possible themes for the future? Like an underwater theme, or an ice, desert, underground, carnival, sky, mountain, museum, steampunk( ),medivial, or others? Aedai Rivin steampunk I feel an MOC coming on. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Cowboys. I want cowboys. The villains can be a cactus and a tumbleweed, maybe a big ol ox skull. I don't actually care. Just give me cowboys. We need a ball snap holster. Big old hats and spurs. Hey hold the phone, ninjago throwing star IS a hero factory spur! Iiiii think it's MOC time. Quote

Future HF theme discussion is over here now! But robot cowboys sounds like a great idea, especially if NinjaGo throwing stars are suitable. A tumbleweed villain made up of lots of intertwined dark tan limb pieces would be a fantastic parts-pack, albeit not the most playable figure. I eagerly anticipate those Toyfair pictures. Even if the new pieces aren't finalized causing the sets to not look that flash, I'm really excited about getting a clearer look at construction techniques in Rocka XL, Scorpio and Witch Doctor. Jouster Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 It seems that photography was prohibited at the London Toy Fair. So no pictures for us..Oh well, I still do not understand why it was prohibited. But it seems that we will have to wait untill the big Toy Fair to see out of the box pictures of the summer sets. That does not mean though that pictures will not show up. We know from previous years that they will, especially from New York. Quote

Aanchir Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I'm actually talking about the London Toy Fair..Not the one from Nurnberg. What Front's saying is that the anti-photography rule at the London one isn't unique. It's just enforced a lot more effectively than at other Toy Fair locations. Quote

There's always going to be someone taking photos when they shouldn't be, but I doubt there will be anyone interested in taking the risk to share Hero Factory photos. Quote
Aedai Rivin Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I'm really hoping that the new Hero Factory heads are: A: Two piece, using the same lower head piece B: The current style that will be used from now on. Aedai Rivin Quote
Aanchir Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I'm really hoping that the new Hero Factory heads are: A: Two piece, using the same lower head piece B: The current style that will be used from now on. Aedai Rivin I kind of agree. Granted, the idea of identical helmets with unique accessories is a clever one, and an attractive one. It also allows the "unique" elements to be independent of color schemes to a great extent. No longer must Furno's identifying helmet accessory be limited to red heroes. However, the current system also has serious flaws. The helmet accessories are currently the only "joiner" piece of that sort, making the helmet piece pretty much useless without them (with non-Hero Factory parts you could certainly come up with some clever uses, but I'm thinking in the mind of someone who may not collect any other LEGO themes). Also, the design still requires a unique piece for each Hero, so while the Heroes may seem more uniform, there is actually little reduction in the budget required for them. Perhaps this new design style will just take some getting used to, or perhaps it will be improved as more alternative pieces are released. But the helmet construction method of the 2.0 heroes is one of the few aspects of the new heroes that still fills me with uncertainty. Quote
Jouster Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) One of my skype friends went to the Canadian Toy Fair today. I do not know if he is telling the truth or not. But I did ask him a few question about the sets, just in case he speaks the truth. From what he told me the heroes have the same head piece used on the 2.0, and that Witch Doctor is as tall as Fire Lord or an inch taller (he does not know exactly because he does not have Fire Lord). Again, I don't know if he's telling the truth. EDIT: More Info: -Rocka XL has the same leg design as Witch Doctor -The legs on Witch Doctor are good and compact, and they also use pistons. -Raw-Jaw is a bit bigger than Waspix -Waspix is average sized -Lego kept the green armor plate on the heroes (Lame!) -Rocka XL and Rocka 3.0 have the same helmet -Witch Doctor is supposed to resemble a skeleton Note: I do NOT know if he is telling the truth. Aedai Rivin Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Wow... I had almost forgotten that Witch Doctor was a definite buy for me. Did he say anything else about Rocka 3.0? He pretty much my favorite 3.0 Hero. Aedai Rivin Quote

What color is Fangz and is his mouth/head good looking? 2.Is the green piece Mata green or Dark Green 3.What color is Scorpio and can you do a FULL detailed description on Scorpio 4.What type of head piece do the villians use and what does it look like. The Crazy One Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I bet these green parts will have some sort of lame story part like they let them talk to the wildlife or something. Should have kept identity plates. Quote

However what color is Rocka xL and is the torso designs for all the villains and Rocka xL a new piece? Quote

Should have kept identity plates. Since we don't know what purpose they serve yet, nor do we even have confirmation that the information provided about them is true, I think it's a bit too early for "LEGO should have…" Also, pretty much all that information can be gleaned from the pics we have, except for Rocka being yellow and R-XL having pistons. I don't see pistons and he looks more keet than yellow. Edited February 1, 2011 by Bfahome Quote
