Aanchir Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Tahu and Vakama had pink eyes! And that's it. I'd still dig a pink hero. Special edition? Technically, Transparent Fluorescent Red. Not the same color as most so-called Transparent Dark Pink things (Transparent Medium Reddish-Violet), no matter what Bricklink tries to tell you. But yeah. I guess it looked pink. I mean, I sure called it pink back in the day. And relative to all of Tahu and Vakama's bright red parts, yes, it was definitely pink. Don't know how pink would work for a special edition set... I mean, I guess Bulk & Vapour did demonstrate that LEGO can release parts in colors that they don't otherwise exist. Pink? I doubt it. But as always, it's possible. If LEGO did release a pink set, I can pretty much guarantee it would be Bright Purple (Post-2004 Dark Pink, replacing Medium Reddish-Violet-- another distinction Bricklink fails to acknowledge) rather than Light Purple (Bright Pink). As I see it, there's no ways to get preteen and early-teenage boys to buy a set in the latter color. The former, being less pastel, might stand a greater chance. A pink hero is the LAST thing I want. Waaaaaaaaaaaaayy too girly for my taste. Pink isnt used a lot but I think its been like that for a pretty good reason. Lego is suppost to make sets that flatter boys AND girls. Not one or the other (if you exclude girls themes such as belville, clikits, etc.). I personaly HATE pink. Its quite the only color I dont like. Making a Hero Pink would be like taking my Surge 2.0 and throwing up all over it (taking a good set and ruining it). One thing im wondering about- gold hero core, will we get one? We got gold rocka and id like to see people color their hero's limbs gold and use all of rockas gold peices to make a gold statue. Post your opinion- im curious :pir- Quote

Post your opinion- im curious :pir- You might want to tone down the smileys. Eurobricks is an adult site, and thus people are expected to post maturely. Posting a lot of smileys could make people think you're younger than you really are, especially when those smileys are silly ones like the Vader and Yoda ones that don't really tell us anything in this situation. Anyway, opinions vary as far as colors are concerned. Some people hate Keetorange (191 Flame Yellowish-Orange) about as much as you hate pink. Other people feel the same way about bluish grey colors (194 Medium Stone Grey, 199 Dark Stone Grey, and to a lesser extent 208 Light Stone Grey). Overall, I doubt a pink hero would happen. But if it did, I'd have no real problem with it. If it were too ugly and garish, I just wouldn't buy the set. But pink can be used tastefully just as well as any other color. I don't know if we'll ever see a gold Hero Core. I imagine it would probably have to appear on either a very special character. And remember that based on how Hero Cores are being used so far, a character with a gold Hero Core would also have a gold face. It'd be cool, but I don't know how likely it would be-- or if it is going to happen, how soon. Quote
Bundalings Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Power Rangers is a primarily boy oriented show and there's a pink character. OH SNAP But seriously, don't be hatin' pink. I'm not a huge fan of green and yet I don't rage every time Lego includes a green character in their wave. Pink is just a color, it's a pity so many people relate it to being "girly". (And what's so wrong with girly, anyway?) At least Lego isn't shying from purple so much anymore. Quote
ZORK64 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Talking about color variety makes me wonder: Do you think the DbM-based "Hero Recon Team" function might be used to design a playable hero in "Mission 2: Ordeal of Fire"? The design function for "Mission 1: Von Nebula" was OK, but it included several unidentifiable colors. I'd much prefer a design function that sticks to existing LEGO colors. But perhaps that's just my nerdiness speaking. I'm actually hoping that the "Hero Recon Team" allows you to create and purchase heroes (or maybe even villains) in colours which aren't available in the regular sets, like Mata Green or several Grey tones. But yeah, it would be a good idea if they include the HRT into the next HF-Game (although I didn't payed much attention to the games anyway). And a pink hero... that's so absurd that it could indeed work. I hope the HRT allows me to make that. XD On the purple hero topic, Lego could make Von Nebula return as Ness 4.0 or something. Von would look amazing in purple. That's for sure. Purple works pretty well with black, and with a neat colour scheme, Lego could create an amazing and sinister villain. Brickthing Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 In case you haven't noticed this topic is about hero factory not power rangers so keep the power rangers talk to a minimum. As long as it doesn't stray further than why there can't be a Pink Hero then it's fine. I do wonder how well the pink power ranger toys sold compared to other power ranger toys though. In a TV show not all characters need to appeal to the majority of fans, but in a toy line they do, otherwise the less desirable keep the shelves warm. Quote
Bricker Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 The thing is pink isnt very appealing to most boys. LEGO always tries their best to make sets that appeal both boys and girls. Quote

The Crazy One Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 The thing is pink isnt very appealing to most boys. LEGO always tries their best to make sets that appeal both boys and girls. Yeah, no shit. XD I hated pink when I was a kid but I actually really want a pink Hero now. Let's face it, there's always one bum Hero that no one buys, like with most figure lines, so making a pink one will probabley mean that that's the case, but hey, I'd buy it. Last line I think Breeze/Surge had the least sales looking at clearances over the Xmas period. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 From LEGO's pre-ToyFair press release to BZPower: Constraction (Ages 5+)Constructible action figure play reaches a fever pitch as the LEGO HERO FACTORY ramps up production to build robotic heroes to help diffuse and squash an onslaught of missions coming in from across the planet. 6 new villains create a need for the heroes to become bigger and stronger and to create vehicles to help the cause. ($7.99 - $29.99) So I guess vehicle sets aren't dead. I'm grateful-- with the design quality of Drop Ship and the Furno Bike last year, vehicle sets are bound to be at least interesting designs, even if they don't get me reaching for my wallet first thing. Hope this isn't a false trail. Quote

Kenta Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I asked front about a store exclusive this summer and he said he cannot talk about future sets. Which may hint there is a future summer exclusive set. As for the vehicle, i am not sure but i doupt a vehicle would come out this summer. We might get one with a villian set exclusive though. Fingers crossed. Quote

Brickthing Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I asked front about a store exclusive this summer and he said he cannot talk about future sets. Which may hint there is a future summer exclusive set. No, it hints that he isn't allowed to talk about stuff that hasn't been released yet. You've been told that before. The press release talks about currently released 2011 sets as well, so the Hero Factory section could be referring to the 6 canister-sized villains, also seeing as the setting is described generally rather than mentioning a jungle planet. I'm excited by the prospect of vehicle sets, but neither Toyfair nor retail catalogs usually display store exclusives - if there is a vehicle set at Toyfair, it will be a main-stream set. Quote
VBBN Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Just to clear up the air of the rumors, no vehicles will be at Toy Fair 2011. Quote
Brickthing Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Just to clear up the air of the rumors, no vehicles will be at Toy Fair 2011. That's a shame. Still, "vehicles" must refer to something in the 2011 HF line-up. Rocka XL could be considered an Exo-Toa vehicle for Rocka. Or they could be referring to the drop-ships in the backgrounds of many box-arts. Quote
