Aethersprite Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Maybe there's a store exclusive set we don't know about? Always a possibility-- no reason to believe we should know about every summer set by February. Oh, yeah. Forgot about them store exclusives. The Winter wave has just arrived here in Singapore, I can't wait to get my hands on new sets. Woohoo! Quote
Pro_Ice Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Hero Factory Recon Team's teaser website is now available. No new info except release date (April 2011) and a short story about the team from Quadal. I wonder if that guy on background is Merrick Fortis. http://herorecon.lego.com/ Edited February 12, 2011 by Pro_Ice Quote
Aanchir Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Hero Factory Recon Team's teaser website is now available. No new info except release date (April 2011) and a short story about the team from Quadal. I wonder if that guy on background is Merrick Fortis. http://herorecon.lego.com/ Interesting link! So now we have a more specific date (April). Granted, it's what some of us had expected (since that's when the DesignByMe palette on LEGO Digital Designer gets updated), but it's still nice to have some confirmation rather than the vague "Spring" that appeared in various building instructions. His hero core links to the first "entry", so to speak, and the entry has a date. So I wonder if there might be more "entries" appearing as we approach the release date. Quote
ZORK64 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I hoped it will be released in march, but anyway, finally a release date. Quote
Brickthing Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 There aren't any interesting graphics/music files hidden in the SWF, but it looks like it receives the text from an external file, meaning there will most likely be new entries added as we approach the launch date. Quote
Jetrax99 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Yeah......about people saying Toyfair is tomorrow, the Transformers fan sites I visit regularly already Toyfair coverage, which leads me to ask: How come we don't? Quote
CabooseBM Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Probably because Lego's big presentation wasn't today, I imagine. Edited February 13, 2011 by CabooseBM Quote
bionicle factory Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I wonder if that guy on background is Merrick Fortis. http://herorecon.lego.com/ Look at his headgear and shield, he's Nex Quote
The Dor Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Look at his headgear and shield, he's Nex I'm fairly certain it's not Nex. The silhouette has a spike on the elbow, Nex does not. Nex also has two of the blade / saw pieces on his shield, the silhouette does not. Though, the headgear does appear to be Nex's. This is not surprising, considering there won't be any new molds introduced with the Recon Team designer. I would not be surprised if this were Merrick. I would also not be surprised if it were nothing more than just a generic hero to demonstrate the Recon Team designer. Quote

Well, Nex has a green spike on his right elbow, and you can kinda make out at least one of the circular saw blade pieces on his shield. He even has the thinner shoulders, plus the headgear. It might be a generic hero that has a similar build to Nex, though. But it was definitely based on Nex. Quote
Brickthing Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 It's Nex. Even the thigh armour matches. Though that's beside the point of the silhouette, which is meant to represent a generic Hero that you'll be able to design yourself. It would've been nice if they'd mixed up the pieces to properly represent a generic Hero, seeing as they needed to make a new vector outline anyway. Quote
Bfahome Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Any BZP member who <3s purple should vote in this. Also 3.0 ToyFair pics start on this page. Edited February 13, 2011 by Bfahome Quote
Nike2032 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Any BZP member who <3s purple should vote in this. Also 3.0 ToyFair pics start on this page. Nice. Summer sets are looking promising. Though I'm still annoyed that Witch Doctor's staff is still so small. Thanks for the update Bfahome. Quote
ToaAtraks Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Wow. The summer sets look better than I thought. Still, I'm kinda annoyed because of the helmets being so specialized in looking like animals that I think won't be very useful in MOCing. Quote
VBBN Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Linketh no workeh. Edit; nevermind. Ill give my full thoughts in a while Quote
toatali Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 WHERE IS STRINGER????????? Other than that, they all look pretty cool, Bulk especially... I think Rocka is evil though. Quote
Kenta Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K36A5shZnlI Here you can see stringer Quote
Bricker Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I saw the pics and this was literally my face during that time- :[______] (jaw drop face since they dont have minifig ones) All the heros are a definate buy ESPECIALLY Bulk. He looks like he has so much thick armor on (makes sense right?) and I love his helmet. His weapons look incredible. Im largely disappointed by Rocka. I expected so much but they put armor in pretty bad places (fixable) and I hate the headdress. The white core and face dont look good with gold. But im still buying him/her . Bulk looks nice. Stormer seems pretty cool but im afraid LEGO sort of lost his personality. Not sure, wasnt paying attention to his pic. Nex is beutiful. Furno, he looks great but his pic was a little hard to see. The villians (exept for witch doctor) look beutifull. 2011 is LEGO's greatest year ever. 2010 just got out matched . Quote
Destructive Soul Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Maaaaaan, the villains look great! So do the heroes, except for Furno. Ugh, I don't know why they decided to just exclude thigh armor. Looks a little weird, so I'll have to add some later. Other than that, looks like my wallet is going to hurt in the summer. Quote
InfiniToa Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Dear Lego, I can haz? Sincerely, Infinitoa MY GOSH THESE BLOW MY F****** MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Zarkan Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Well, it's nice to see we're finally getting a villian line that consists mainly of non-humanoid sets, and Witch Doctor looks to be the first good titan set using the new building system. However, the cloneism of the Hero 2.03.0's is extremely annoying. I thought TLC was done doing this with constraction figures! At least the last few years of Bionicle varried the designs occasionally (although nowhere near as much as in 2007) - these new Hero Factory protagonists, on the other hand, are identical to the previous line with the exception of helmets, weapons, and colors. There's no attempt to improve on the hollow back design or awkward armor placements - just a rehash of what we already got. It's like the Bohrok Kal all over again, and that does not make me happy. vexorian Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) This beast: http://popculturenetwork.com/mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=20110213082407683 whatever it is called, it looks so nice!, my only qualm are those black armor pieces on top of the silver torso, but otherwise I think this one really beats most of Bionicle's beasts, specially if we consider only the ones that came post 2003. Edit: Oh, and his red headed buddy: http://popculturenetwork.com/mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=2011021308235536 . that's just great as well, I specially love the exo-force arms. These guys give me a Zoids vibe. I never liked the actual Zoids show, but I loved the designs of the mechs. Edited February 13, 2011 by vexorian Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 It's like the Bohrok Kal all over again I think that's a bit too harsh I'm impressed that lego got the release versions out in time this year other than the boxes, not a prototype in sight. Well my final decision for what I'm getting is the same as when they leaked. Bulk, Stringer, Nex, Raw-Jaw, Witch Doctor. I think that gets me the most variety, all the parts I want. Even that's probably pushing it when I've got POTC, Kingdoms, Minifigures, Heroica, and Alien Conquest! to collect. Newfound appreciation for the other villains though, Fangz especially. I may double up on some of the sets (you'd think to get two claw hands for my stringer and nex, but I was thinking raw jaw and bulk) Quote
