Dammit, Lego. The Winter sets just arrived in Singapore, how do you expect me to buy them with these pictures?

In all seriousness, these sets are nothing short of AMAZING. I'm with The Dor on this one - loving the new system of armour-on-old-skeleton sets. I just got Jetbug, and I don't know how I'm going to bring myself to get any of the 2.0 Heroes after seeing these.

Bulk: I already wanted him after seeing the Creep Crushers pictures, now I want him even more. The switch from silver to blood red blades is really awesome. The only downside is the asymmetrical thighs due to the badge, but I can manage.

Stringer: Losing out to Bulk now in terms of my favourite, but still loving him. Can't see much with all that black, but he looks great.

Rocka: GOLD. WOOHOO. Must get. 'Nuff said.

Fangz: BRILLIANT. I see an articulated back there. This could potentially be one of the best Rahi sets ever. My sole gripe is the use of spears for fangs. No matter, easily replaceable.

Raw-Jaw: Can't make out what exactly it is, but it looks pretty cool. Love the huge number of Exo-Force arms.

Witch Doctor: Woah. While I preferred the old hugeass staff, it still looks great. I'll have to see the building instructions before deciding though.

Oh. My. God. This, is frigging GOOD. All of these new sets are nothing short of fantastic, especially the heroes. Nevermind that they use the same (awful) foot piece as the 2.0 ones, the rest of the more than makes up for it. Individual helmets again! Already a great move that was desperately needed, but LEGO went a step further and made the new helmets the incarnation of awesome! Animal themed and looking great while doing so? Hell yes! Savage Planet is the best thing to happen to Hero Factory so far.

Rocka 3.0: Gold! And I like the helmet. It's a lion, right? Despite liking the helmets, there are a few where I'm not sure what animal they're supposed to represent. His paw-ish weapon looks good, too. Only the white Hero Core seems a bit off, somehow, but that's a minor complaint. A bigger complaint is the Hero-label piece. I HOPE with all my heart that that colour (green) is NOT final, or else, yeowch. That would be bad. Regardless, a good set.

Nex 3.0: Little complaints about this one. Wolverine-ish weapon? Looks great. Helmet is good, colour-scheme is even, an all around solid set. Not sure what animal his helmet is supposed to be, thouh.

Stormer 3.0: This guy shows why that green piece MUST be temporarily, because otherwise... I like the individual helmet, again, though this one is my least favourite of the bunch. It's cool what LEGO tried, with a Rhino and all, but I feel it didn't work out entirely. His weapon is a tad too much like his 2.0 one. A good set still, but probably my least favourite of the 3.0 heroes.

Bulk 3.0: THAT HELMET IS AWESOME! I have no complaints about this guy (aside from the standard green Hero-label piece). Colour scheme is perfect, design is perfect, weapons look okay, the set oozes with personality... Top notch! Easily one of the best of the 3.0 Heroes.

Stringer 3.0: That weapon is fantastic. The helmet is great, too. All around this set is great, with a very consistent colour scheme that just works. Tied with Bulk for the best set of the new line.

Furno 3.0: Hawk-helmet for the win. I like that they gave him a bow that looks like a bow. These action figure sets so rarely get bows as weapon. I believe the last one to have a bow was Kongu Inika, and I use that term very lightly since I never thought Kongu's crossbow looked very bow-ish. Good colour scheme (but PLEASE get rid of that green piece, please!), but don't his thighs lack armor? Another great set.

Waspix: Ooh, I like this one. Reminds me a bit of Bitil. Or rather, this guy is a cross between Bitil and Gorast turned Hero Factory. I like his claws. Are they a new piece? (Or are they from Ben 10 sets?) The helmet is good, too. The transparent yellow pieces are good, I think MOCists will love them. All in all, this guy is a big leap over Jetbug, or all 20 villains for that matter, for they all looked rather messy. Waspix is smooth and clean and knows what he wants to be, and succeeds as of such.

Raw-Jaw: I'm not sure what to think of this one. I blame the bad pose. He looks okay and shows promise, but I'm not a big fan of the helmet (for a change! =p ) or the enormous tusks. The idea they tried here is good, but I need more pictures of him to see if it worked out in the end. So, jury still out on this one.

Fangz: Now THIS is the real deal. Props to LEGO for an original villain design. Gone is the bipedal bad guy with weapons and a helmet, here comes the wolf-ish creature with an awesome head, back spikes to die for and a colour scheme that works. Minor complaint is the spears on his head, they don't seem to work well as tusks, but aside from that, I love this guy. Great job, LEGO.

Scorpio: This guy holds promise. Lots of promise. But I need to see more of him, because the current picture isn't enough to judge him. I think what bothers me is the lack of claws on his legs except for his front pair. And his body seems hollow. The colour scheme works, though, and I think this set is like raw-jaw: a set with promise. But for this one, I'll wait till I see a review to judge.

Rocka XL: Ah, an interesting case here. Rocka XL takes the building template established by Fire Lord and lifts it up to the next level. The upper thighs still look like twigs, though the new armor piece on them goes a long way to help limit the damage. The claw-hand is awesome, but those Hero-ID-labels still throw a wrench in the colour scheme. Make them silver and gold or something, then they'll work. Please somebody tell me that this green is only temporarily? =/ The lower legs suffer from a Titan Mata Nui syndrome: too bulky, while the arms are, in comparison, small. The set looks good, and I like what they were trying here, but I can't seem to decide whether or not they fully succeeded. Again, I'll need a review to make final judgement.

Witch Doctor: Epic Win. Without a doubt THE winner of the third Hero Factory wave. This guy is perfect. He creates a new Titan design with the new building system and makes it work. The feet look proper, the legs are great (no more stick-thighs, yay!) and the design is just kickass! The spikes, the helmet, the colour scheme, the staff, all those subtle design touches... It's just fantastic! This guy is great, there's no going around it, he just is! Probably the best titan in YEARS purely going from how he looks. He just oozes personality. You can feel the wickedness, the evil voodoo-ness... Fantastic. Simply amazing. For making this one, LEGO, I fully forgive you for not making a single set I loved during the 2.0 wave. =P Amazing. Can't say it enough. Simply amazing.

Those are my thoughts for now.

Anyone else notice the hero heads on a stick on Rocka XL's box? I think I know what happened to Evo and Breez.

Don't let my brother hear you say that! He's already made the assumption that Evo was killed off, and keeps whining about it (no, I don't think he really believes it; it's mostly just a joke between us).

I keep imagining Rocka as a hero already stationed on this planet, who has to call on our more familiar heroes for backup against Witch Doctor. Not sure exactly what the fight will be about, but I imagine LEGO should come up with something awesome.

Wow. All sets are cool. I'm still complaining about some of the helmets. Most of the villains are a definite buy, especially W.Doctor. He's full of great peaces. The technic pieces seem to be sooo many! And the simpler pieces are great too. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL PIECEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *huh* there are so many!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to buy so many of these heroes so I can finally realize my childhood dream of building a series of animal-themed knights. Oh yes.

That is so 2005.

Im so sorry people I apolagize but you people make such long posts I just cannot make myself even try to read it sorry no-offence.

Now it seems that Im the only person who looked at Rocka XL's box in other places other than the heads on sticks. Theres another pole with more heads (I highly dought LEGO would be so ruthless and kill heros [surge almost died in Trial by Fire and I know he survived because LEGO's not ruthless and we got a Surge 2.0 so he has to survive to get the upgrade]) I ALSO saw some heros with glowing red eyes to the left of the pole (and I dont think they had helmets on). I think witch doctor poisoned them to be robot zombies or something. Maybe hese even making Villians that look like heros? Highly doughtable but possible. Tell your opinion because I cant say for sure. The heads and zombies might not be part of the story line and are placed for the fun of it.

Man, to call those animal-themed was really stretching it. They had animals on their shields, whoo! I'm thinking more along the line of the entire armour being themed that way, which would involve multiples of most of those animal helmets, but I suppose that'll just have to be okay.

Hooray, new pictures!

I'm actually surprised (and thus, happy) to see a fair amount of new pieces along the 2.0-pieces. That's pretty cool.

The grey limbs are also a plus IMO. I'd love to see the limb pieces in more colours than black, red and orange.

Now my thoughts for all sets in short:

Heroes

Rocka 3.0

Since I'm probably the only one who doesn't love gold, I'm not really interested in him. But I do appreciate his colour scheme. I wish more heroes would use two colours for their armour.

Nex 3.0

I don't know why, but he isn't really appealing to me. Probably his helmet, also his weapon is kind of invisible on the actual toy.

Stormer 3.0

I don't know... on one side, his helmet looks pretty cool, on the other, it would look better in grey than white... on one side, I got already 2 Stormers, on the other, it's Stormer... odds are rather quite good that I'll get him anyway.

Bulk 3.0

Silver armour, Wolf-like helmet - nuff said. He's definitely a Must-Have.

Stringer 3.0

Same as Nex (except the weapon, Stringer's claw looks neat).

Furno 3.0

While I missed the 2 first version of him, I'll probably get him this time just for the sake of his helmet, which is almost as awesome as Bulk's helmet.

Villains

Waspix

I like his design set-wise (his legs are neat, and with his six limbs he looks really like an insect). And of course, the translucent pieces kicks butt. But I'm still not sure if I'll get him.

Raw-Jaw

Maaaybe. He looks like a pretty good parts pack (which is always my first priority when I buy sets). But I need more pictures to judge him properly.

Fangz

Need also more pictures from this one, however, since his primary colour is silver I like him a bit more than Raw-Jaw. At least for now.

Large Sets

Scorpio

Again, need more pictures! Anyway, his ridiculous amount of limb pieces makes him more appealing than the other two titans.

Rocka XL

As I already said, I don't like gold. Aside from this, he looks quite impressive. I'm also curious about his poseability.

Witch Doctor

Depends on the smaller pieces (I'm curious about that grey thing at his shoulders and hips, for example). But in general, I doubt that I'll get him. The Voodoo-theme doesn't appeal to me, and he's a bit too expensive to be a parts buy. In fact, I'd prefer Rocka XL over him (despite the fact that I like white a lot, lot more than gold).

All in all, I'm looking forward to the summer wave. But I'm still way more curious about the Hero Recon Team.

These summer sets are looking very primeval and battle-hardened. I like that.

On the topic of what I'm getting (since that's what everyone's discussing), I'm grabbing Bulk, Stringer, and both Rockas(?). Pure metallic MOC heaven!

Sad there is no Breez 3.0, but that's what Breez's original helmet is for!

I really want to pick up them all, since they're all so great. However, Rocka 3.0 will be so cute and Scorpio I need for lime parts. Stormer and Furno will probably be buys since I don't like their 2.0 versions, but Witch Doctor is already on my must get list.

They also had the emblems on the chests, and the swords sort of matched with the theme. But hey, I'm just going by how TLC advertised them  And it's not like the new 3.0 Heroes really carry the theme much further. They have helmets that (with the exception of one or two) just vaguely resemble real animals, whoo! If they had given them new armor pieces that resembled fur or feathers, and unique animal-styled weapons for each instead of just lots of sharp claws, then they might have achieved that theme, but nope.

Aren't claws good "animal-styled" weapons for animals like bears and wolves? I think these sets are far more animal themed than Knights Kingdom ever was. Furno and Stormer are the only ones who aren't quite as well fitting to the theme. Keep in mind that LEGO can't afford to release massive amounts of new molds every wave like they did with the last one ;) And also that the Heroes still need to look like heroes, not monsters. Also, I think almost all of the helmets are very bestial, not just one or two.

These don't look too bad, but the Witch Doctor is an obvious standout. I don't fully understand it but I know it looks awesome. The villains in general look pretty good, actually.

Somehow I only like some of the villans, like I did before.

I do own Von Nebula from the very 1st sets. He still seems to me the one with the highest awesome factor(y).

But serieus, what is going on at the Lego HQ and in the minds of the HF designer staff?

Isn't it usualy improving a line instead of keep using old parts that are REALY overused already?!?

Where are the old parts that are overused? :sceptic: All of the new 2.0 bone and armour pieces were introduced as the standard pieces for the new Action Figure system, along with only a few fire/2.0 Hero specific pieces. This wave uses mostly the same standardized pieces, along with new jungle specific pieces.

Improving a line doesn't mean revolutionizing the system with 40+ new pieces every wave.

I think he means having new armour pieces each wave. While that would be nice it's certainly quite unreasonable, considering the huge amount of new molds that are non-armour that we're getting.

Thank you, Lego. I know I'll probably get killed for this but HF is filling in Bionicle's shoes very well. :classic:

LEGO is about creativity. New waves should bring new designs and concepts and not a immense amount of new molds. That's something I didn't like with Bionicle, a lot of redundant weapon and armor molds. Adding molds for the sake of molds is not improving the line.

I agree. What we need rather than new armor pieces is new skeleton pieces. We saw several unreleased skeleton pieces in that recent developer video, I hope they trickle out in upcoming waves.

But why do they keep using the Thornax and the Thornax-launchers not even for the HF but also apaired in many other Bionicle (related) sets. That's what I ment by overusage.
