I've tried looking for one myself, and haven't found anything. It's possible someone might have quoted it on BZPower, so when that gets back up we can check that out.

On another note, has anyone purchased the Savage Planet/RotR co-pack from Wal-Mart? If so, what is the comic it says is included? Does it have unique cover art like the BIONICLE comic included with BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn?

That's what I was hoping for from the archive (also I wasn't sure if we could mention forums here >>. BZP has me afraid) but it doesn't seem like anybody did. The closest I got was the DBME guy, who appears to have that image (with full quoted text) as his profile image. I can only hope that he still has it, and we can still contact him when BZP actually goes live (so, say, another six months or so?), or if someone on BZP copied it down as well.

If anybody can actually find out the comic included with that, I could definitely be inclined to purchase it; if it has unique art, I'd definitely be into that.

BZPower, so when that gets back up we can check that out.

Here's hoping you guys have something to be pleasantly surprised about very soon.

As I've said from the beginning: I'll believe these assertions of "soon" when I actually see it, and so far, I haven't.

Also, I've had people tell me that Rocka's first name is actually identified on the SP DVD, but this seems like a hoax. Anybody have the DVD to screenshot?

I doublechecked the DVD Credits when I bought it.

There is NO first name of Rocka on the DVD.

I would give a screenshot but my cousin has the DVD right now.

WD is a set that is doing very well sales wise. You probably can't find it in stores long into 2012.

Just my 2 cents at pushing sales even further  Or more honestly: get this unique set while you can (if you are going to get it anyway). At least if you ever see it on sale (which I guess every Bionicle/HF set goes at some point).

I may be proven totally wrong.

Huh.

I bought a new copy of Savage Planet yesterday because my old copy got scratched.

I looked before-hand to the credits of the first copy to check if Rocka had a first name, I was surprised when there was no first name. I looked again to check that I was right.

Well, I looked at the credits of the copy I got yesterday, explain this.

Was it a running change or something?

Oh my God! Okay, guys, I'll admit something to you now; I was the one who added "Daniel Rocka" to the Hero Factory Wikipedia page a few months ago, no lie, just to stir some rumours, but LEGO actually used the name! I'm willing to bet that LEGO used it because it was widespread in the Hero Factory online community, and I was the one to come up with it in the first place! I unknowingly coined a canon Hero Factory name! This is awesome!

I am disappoint.

I'm willing to bet that was faked. Seems too convenient, not to mention ridiculously easy to do. I'd love to be proven wrong, but there seems to be some massive trolling conspiracy involving his name, and my skepticism level is peaked.

Gonna have to agree with Dorek here, this seems way too suspicious and convenient..

Though to be honest, I've always referred to him as Daniel Rocka anyways, ever since that name first surfaced, for the sole reason that it sounds cool. So whether it's official or not, it doesn't change anything for me.

Hm. That's weird. Need more confirmation, though. But, I'll use the name just for the sake of giving him a first name.

Daniel Rocka I suppose works.

All I know is that I was the one who added the name to Wikipedia in the first place, if the credits turn out to be fake, I will be sad, but I doubt they are.

Even if it isn't fake, I'm going to be disappointed in LEGO. I can just add crap to Wikipedia and turn it into facts? Cool. Isn't that NOT the point of Wikipedia?

Or it could be that the name was official before the Wikipedia edit, and somehow said name got leaked without actually appearing in any official content (that we've found, at least) until now. Stranger things have happened.

Problem being the guy above me just admitted to faking it =P.

As Dorek already said, the name was already confirmed to be made up, and it was also confirmed that they still had not even chosen a name for Rocka yet. They hadn't come up with anything.

So they used the name I "suggested".

I don't think they even knew it was sourced from Wikipedia. They probably thought something along the lines of "Say, loads of people on the Message Boards think Rocka's full name is "Daniel Rocka", since we haven't come up with anything yet, let's just make it canon!"

P.S. Is anyone going to change Rocka's HS01 page? Or haven't we got enough credibility to do so yet?

Not enough credibility.

But again, that just makes LEGO look bad. They see people going "dude this is a cool name where does it come from" and they themselves don't bother to find out where it originated? It cost other fans who make it a point to actually record this stuff a huge hassle to sort out what's what, but clearly we're the segment that doesn't matter. If they weren't going to put the effort into naming him in the first place, then this just looks sloppy.

Not to mention the awful parallels between this and the canonization fad of BZP.

the canonization fad of BZP.

Never got into the whole BZPower thing, so I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, but I'll take a stab at it and assume it has to do with fans coming up with random ideas and Greg accepting them into the canon.

If so, I will be even further disappointed in Greg Farshtey's work. I honestly thought Bionicle went severely downhill. At least he's doing alright with Ninjago and Hero Factory.

Speaking of disappointment, I too am not happy with LEGO's decision to take a fake name and slap it on a character because they couldn't come up with anything original. I doubt that the picture is shopped, I don't see any reason why Vinyl Scratch would lie to us like that :|

Essentially, yes. Sometimes stuff was nice and well thought out. Other times it was "OMG CAN THIS HAVE HAPPENED? IT CAN? THANKS". It necessitated the creation of the BIONICLE Story Squad (which I later became a member of, but that's neither here nor there) to act as a filter for all the ideas. And even there, there are some hella crappy ideas that still got through. It was an unfortunate result of an overactive fan base and an overworked writer. And Greg isn't actually involved with Hero Factory, despite many people thinking that he is =P. He just adapts the TV scripts into comics (which he does admirably; definitely a part of the BIONICLE experience that drew me in. He's a natural at comic book writing), but isn't involved in any story capacity to the best of my knowledge. Which I'm okay with, I just wish people were more aware of it; I've seen plenty of "LET'S ASK GREG" about Hero Factory stuff. Even if he was involved, I would hope that (social networking bans aside) he wouldn't turn Hero Factory into BIONICLE again, in terms of the sheer number of crap that got canonized. Although I hear Ninjago has a cool story thanks to him, so kudos.

I can think of several reasons, but in the interest of keeping things civil, I won't mention them =P. BIONICLE has raised me to be paranoid, and the sheer ease with which that picture could have been 'shopped is not assuaging my doubts. (seriously; take the "aniel" from Zib's first name, and the capital "D" from Bulk's first name, and presto shazam. A black background makes everything easier.)

I'd absolutely love to be proven wrong, but like I've said, I'm going to maintain my general paranoia until I can get some rock solid proof.
