Steff Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Its a very nice Set. I found that this set comes out in August for Holland and the price is 71,99 Euro. www.2ttoys.nl Quote
Vader Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 It seems that most places are reporting that the whole batman range will be out in august, its going to be a long 3 months to wait for this and the cave. Quote
Steff Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 here in germany, we've got all the sets here in our stores ;) toysrus, kaufhof, etc ;) Quote
JackRandom Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I think the set looks fantastic. I look forward to getting it... in ... what AUGUST.... arrrrrgh :-X Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 It amases me how you UK mates always have the sets last X-D :-P Keep the Lego faith !! *yoda* Quote
natelite Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 not always. this time europe (incl uk) have the new exo-force sets while US is still waiting. :-P Quote
Exo-Master Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Well, at first, I really wasn't sure what to think about this set. But now, after all these pictures, I've made my decision: I'm getting this set no matter what! I love it! And those minifig are pretty awesome too, eh? BTW, thanks for the pics guys. ~Exo-Master Quote
Vader Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 It amases me how you UK mates always have the sets last X-D :-P Keep the Lego faith !! *yoda* Too true yoda thats why i had to have most of the sets imported |-/ Its not that hard to do but i would rather just go to my local TRU to pick them up. Quote
Christian Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 More pics of Arkham can be found here! It seems that the the cells in the two towers have been turned around, so that the entrances into the cells are on the back of the towers, which I actually think is much better. Quote
gylman Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Actually, the value of these extra pics is to show you how important marketing and box cover art are for selling a set. It looks quite nice on the box picture, with the background and ground backscreens. When you see what you get in the box as they show in the second batch pictures we just got, it's actually quite disappointing. Very HP-ish, and that black one-piece-wall-and-window is so hideous that ........ that...... that....... argh. words fail me. Oh well, the figs are great. I'll get them on eBay, and more money left over for creator sets. Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Gyl, on a side note I think you would be better off buying the set than all the figs separatly since those figs (apart the black Batman) will only be available only in that set, making them expensive !! ;-) *yoda* Quote

I guess some spare parts can't hurt. Usually this type of set I buy off eBay when someone sells it without instructions, without box for 30-50% of original cost. Quote
jedijeff Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Oh My Gosh!!!! Look at that thing. hey guys did u notice all the castle like jail windows that u get in the set. also who is the lady in the green and the man on the stretcher? THE SET LOOKS AMAZING X-D X-O Jeff Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 also who is the lady in the green and the man on the stretcher?Jeff The beautifull lady in green is Poison Ivy and the guy on the stretcher is the Riddler, two famous Batman Villains ;-) *yoda* Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I'm getting this, one hundred and fifty percent! *sweet* Quote
Christian Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I have a feeling that this set will be available on S@H very soon, cause a pic of the set can be found on Lego's own webpage, right here. The pic is the same as seen before, but I thought that I would mention it nonetheless BTW upon a little more searching did I find these pics: Quote
sam89 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Thanks for the pics. I agree that it must be coming out soon. Quote
john cleese Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 well thats a good question. Who does want to look at this monstrosity, lego has the nerve to call a set? First off it looks nothing like the arkham asylum and it looks more like a haunted house made inconsistently out of concrete and wood. Secondly its another batman set and batman and SW are harming sales on exoforce and creator sets. I was all hyped to see this amazing set and then when i did finnaly see it all i felt was dissapointment. Honestly, lego's got some work to do. Now i realize i complain alot about new sets but i just think lego should get on the ball and stop making <insert that tiresome argument> movie themed sets. Quote
rhymer Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 He does have a point, it does look like a haunted house. Quote

Aw come on! It's not that bad. Considering other 2000 and up sets this isn't too bad. It's a great contribution to the Harry Potter Grave yard duel set. Haunted house indeed, still, a very nice set. Good pieces, not much juniorization, I'm impressed. *y* Quote
gylman Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 He does have a point, it does look like a haunted house. And he does have a point - I would say that it is highly joonyerized. Look at those roofs. The figs are great, no doubt, but otherwise..... I don't see the use of this set unless the price point is very low, like no more than 40 US$, in which case there are enough usable parts along with the figs to make it worth getting. Personally, my feeling about the whole Batman line is that it has been a disappointment, except for the figs - which are spectacular.. It's better than Spiderman, or HP, but somehow it should have been more than what we have gotten so far. At least from an AFOL point of view. I gotta keep reminding myself TLC is not selling to me, but to the 8-12 year old crowd. Quote
Nerdy Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 When is this set going to be release? I am really anxious!!!!!! X-D X-D X-D Quote
alex54 Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 I don't agree with the fact tha the asylum looks like a haunted house. maybe a little, but when you look the cartoon, the arkam asilum looks alsow like a very scary place! I foind it well design Quote
Echo Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 Gyl overreacted. This set actually isn't very <insert that tiresome argument>. I count only 6 true <insert that tiresome argument> pieces in the three main buildings. 6 j-ized pieces out of 860? Yeah, that's REALLY <insert that tiresome argument>. Quote
