Solscud007 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Toys R Us, here in NY, has a new deal this week. Spend $75 and get the $24.99 USB Drive minifig free. I bought 26 Series 3 figs, thinking they were $2.99 each like on TRU website. But instead they were $3.99. Oh well here are pics of the USB drive. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Awesome. I'm afraid it wouldn't work with my laptop, though, because of how thin it is and how the USB ports are aligned vertically rather than horizontally. The minifig's arms would collide with the desk the laptop is on. Also, I'm kind of happy to see that the minifig has what's essentially the "new default face" (eyes with white highlights and eyebrows) rather than the "old default face" (eyes without highlights and no eyebrows). There's a lot to be said of the iconic appeal of the classic minifigure, but when actually building I tend to use the new style, and I'm glad to see LEGO acknowledging it in merchandise. I guess giving it hair would have made it too hard to recognize at a glance, though... oh, well. It does no harm. How much memory does it have? Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I want this! (They are selling at all Toys R Us?) Quote
Fugazi Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Interesting, it looks like the minifig-USB can still be clicked on a baseplate. Very handy, less chances of misplacing it that way! Can the arms and head move at all? Quote
buddy Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 An interesting product indeed, it loos good! A shame about the S3 minifigs being $1 more expensive. ~buddy~ Quote
vexorian Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 hmnn, I have learned not to trust that plug design. I think it has a 20% chance not to work in a computer, and it gets worse after using it many times. But the whole idea is really nice. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 This is indeed a cool product, a useful tool that I would definitely buy... if it were the standard 'thicker' USB drive connection. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 They probably made it thin so it could fit in the legs. Still very cool looking. And hey it's a key chain that actually has a function. They should make a whole line for the different themes. Quote
