Posted December 8, 201014 yr hi @all, i´m reading eurobricks nearly 2 years and i´m fascinated of all mocs around here - and especially of the ships. 20 years ago (i was around 15) i tried to build a rc smit rotterdam (gfk+wood), but i think it was too difficult for me, so i stopped the building. exactly 1 year ago i started to build it again - with lego ... the first step - how to build a hull: ok - perhaps it looks like a ship ... let´s go and make a drawing: the first line ups: wow - very big (1:43) the rear section is difficult: at last new colors - black and white: some details: complete - after 10 months of building: dusty? some concepts i made with mlcad: hope you have fun - sorry for the poor pics. rené Edited December 8, 201014 yr by ibinsnur
December 8, 201014 yr This is AWESOME, the size of it is amazing. The details you have put into this are great, like the rubber tubes as fences. One question.... Does it float .
December 8, 201014 yr Excellent. A wonderful interpretation of the ship, I think it worked really well and it's full of detail. Well Done to you, Thanks for sharing.
December 8, 201014 yr Hi, welcome to the site. Great way to introduce youreself too. Another wonderful looking creation and its huge to boot. I liked the way you showed us the progression from idea to finished product. Thanks for sharing.
December 8, 201014 yr That hull is on par with some of the stuff I've seen in classic pirates! Good job! It all looks very smooth!
December 8, 201014 yr This is just AMAZING! The sheer massiveness of this build is simply astounding! I could just imagine all the time, effort, and resources that you've spent to come up with this epic creation. Any statistics? (total piece count, project time completion) My hats off to you Sir, it's our pleasure to have you as part of our online community.
December 8, 201014 yr Author thank you, it floats like a stone - only deep ... statistics - cause 90% of the bricks i bought on bricklinks - the number of pieces and costs are very exact: about 20.000 bricks (at first i calculated around 30.000) and i costs about € 1.600 (with shipping costs) i´m dreaming of an oil rig and an oil tanker - but in a scale of 1:43 ... too big for the house und for my money so perhaps i go to space - a small moonbase with landscape. i´m also planning an aerial cableway (schwebebahn?), cause i think the "standard" monorail is too "old shool" for a futuristic moon base ... but it´s very hard to plan. as you see on my writing - i´m not a native english speaker - i´m from austria. have a nice day Edited December 8, 201014 yr by ibinsnur
December 8, 201014 yr Ok, wow, just wow... That's really an impressing ship. The curves on the hull are very nicely done, and the detailing is really good. Thanks for showing pictures of the building processes, it actually makes it even more awesome.
December 8, 201014 yr I thought you were just going to ask for ideas, but then you started showing pictures of it being built and then. Impressive Job!
December 8, 201014 yr Gee, it must be the day/night for AWESOME boats, someone has posted a sailing one and now this.....man, this is good...no not good.....totally AWESOME....now that's better choice of words eh ? I have rarely scene such detail on a model of a modern ship from the bow to top side - just fantastic work 'ibinsnur' - man, what a way of doing an intro to EB.....I'm a conformist! 'ibinsnur' I'm a conformist! !
December 8, 201014 yr Wow... just wow. Whenever I see creations like this I always love knowing how many bricks went into it, the cost, how long it took, etc. Thanks for sharing!
December 8, 201014 yr This is quite impressive Ibinsnur. Looks like you spent some time designing this as well. On a side note, EB does have an image size limit of 800x600, if you could please resize your images. Much appreciated.
December 8, 201014 yr fantastic job ibinsnur ! i got gob smacked when i saw it, a very very nice ship you did here. and as somebody else said, nice to have details about cost and the rest.
December 8, 201014 yr Spectacular! Congratulations on a fantastic build. What an effort. I'm certainly hoping for that moonbase. Would be great to see another one of your builds. Best of luck! Edited December 8, 201014 yr by mathias
December 8, 201014 yr Author for the moonbase - please be patient. another projekt was abu simpel ... i started only at mlcad. my idea is to build abu simpel and hide a moonbase incl. spaceships in it. the head of ramses
December 8, 201014 yr Amazing MOC! The size of it is very impressive, as is the level of detail on it. It looks very realistic. Very well done. ~buddy~
December 9, 201014 yr This is incredible!! My jaw got closer and closer to the floor with each progressive photo.
December 9, 201014 yr Brilliant model, I remember building a plastic kit of this model as a child, and I simply can't tell the difference. The hull looks really smooth with the slopes and the small detail on this large scale MOC is outstanding.
December 9, 201014 yr Holy craziness! I'd say it's too short, but I won't since this thing's already massively enormous!
December 10, 201014 yr That is cool. I hope you find a way to display it. A sfinx would look great next to next years pyramid set. That is cool. I hope you find a way to display it. A sfinx would look great next to next years pyramid set aswell.
December 10, 201014 yr Great build! I really like the fact you build the complete hull. The hull is nicely rendered in bricks, the brick flow of the hull looks smooth on the photos. Thanks for sharing! Kind regards, Teddy
