The Thoughts of the remarkable Norro:

...in under a word per brick...

O.K. it's small and simple and has nothing particularly special to commend it... but it is still a great set, it has a good fig, a nice selection of parts, an extremely reasonable price point, and an all round 'happy factor' that Lego seem to have left behind these days...

Guest Minifig Comments:

Yes, that' me. I lost the horse in a game of poker and I'm not saying another word...

Hey Nathan, I am really enjoying your set reviews, thank you! I don't have this set so I don't have a whole lot to say about it. :-)

Two bucks for a Crusader fig and some spare parts? I'm so there! If only I had been old enough to appreciate it when this was out....

This was my first ever castle set, so it has sentimental value. This comes with a minifig and his supplies, which in my opinion is great for it's price.

Why is the minifig described as mad though, Norro?

Mr Norro, does it annoy you that I replace your attachments with full images? Or does it please you that I go to that extra effort? By the way... In case you were unaware you can directly link images from Brickset.com without the hassles you get linking images directly from Lugnet. So if you'd rather save yourself the hassle of added an attachment just head for Brickset and search for the set.

This set is nice. A little to often repeated but nice anyway. Small sets like this are needed to round out the bigger ones.

Another nice review ;-)

Thanks!

He lost the horse and is forever dragging the cart around now (the smile is only on the surface ;-))

Thanks MisterPhes! I'll do this in future...

I should add: My only major complaint with this set was the blue legs. Personally I never thought they worked with the crusader figs... What do you all think?

God Bless,

Nathan

Hmm. I prefer the red legs with black waist piece, but I don't think these look that bad.

My personal faviourite is the black legs with red hips but these blue ones do annoy me... I change them out instantly...

God Bless,

Nathan

As for the blue legs - if you don't like them, think about KK2 skittle colours, that helps... :-)

Fair point..but I prefer not to ;-)

God Bless,

Nathan

Just picked up this baby off ebay ( for less than original price *y* ) It is a great little set and the crusader has been welcomed with open arms by the others I already have. :'-) Reunions are so beautiful *sniff*

And the seller kindly FedEXed it for only $30? X-D

God Bless,

Nathan (who just wishes he had gotten it for under original price...)

Winning bid + postage = $5 Australian (which is maybe 2 US cents :-D ) Auction finished at an odd time I think that helped my cause. Ebay isn't usually a happy hunting ground for yours truely.

This is just sooooo typical. I can't recall how many auctions I won and had to pay 30$ for shipping only because the set didn't reach the seller's hope. This is why I now always ask for the shipping price BEFORE, but it's definitly an extra amount of work for the buyer... |-/
