XimenaPaulina Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Wow, this is just an outstanding Ancient Greece MOC! Lots of excellent details worth mentioning - the minifig statue columns, the "Thinking Man" statue, the brickbuilt legs of the Greeks, all are very well done. Brilliant job on this one 74loloute, just amazing work overall! Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Wow well done the statue is absolutely amazing and all the different techniques used in this MOC is amazing Quote
Baylego Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Excellent! We don't see Greek MOCs enough around here. Quote
damian Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Great MOC! I like first temple with gold decorations and white statues. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Your BS-link links to a different MOC here, but anyway, this one is great. I like the use of white minifigs as pillars and the 'thinking man' statue is nice as well (and very recognizable). The white flowers on the building are also a nice touch and the slave (or whatever it is) is quite funny too with that face. Well done Quote
Admiral Ron Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Wonderful! It looks great! I love the temple to the left especially though, keep up the great work! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 A really amazing effort on the buildings 74! Love the figures legs and the action and ramshackle nature of the scene. Probably the only thing that I would like to improve on is the ground itself. It just needs a little "jazzing up" so to speak. All dark bley really detracts a little from the whole MOC. Though the rest is great, keep em coming! Quote
turambar Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Excellent MOC, temples are outstanding especially the gold one. Curlly black hair of Bellatrix Lestrange realy fits in this scene. Quote
Pellaeon Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Nice MOC! I like the architecture, and the minifigs are nicely done. But I should note: in 6th century BC, all that white marble would be painted gaudy colors. Apparently ancient Athens was quite tacky back in the day! Quote
Sandy Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Heureka! This is a really great MOC, especially because we don't see that many creations about Ancient Greece. The new pieces like the Spartan Warrior's gear and the trident certainly enable more realistic MOCs from that era, and you've used them well to your advantage in this piece. I love the splashes of color you've put into the scenery, so that it's not all white and tan. The temple with the statues as columns is my favorite of the bunch, although they all fit together effectively. Great work, and hope you make more sceneries from that era! Quote
Zorbas Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Great work 74loloute! You've created a very beautiful scenery that looks full of life and has the actual looks of an ancient Agora. The buildings are very nice and the temple with the statues as columns reminds me of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis. Well done and keep on bricking greeking! Quote
jonwil Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Nice MOC. I expect with the new fluted column pieces in the 2011 sets we will see more ancient greek/roman MOCs. Quote
Kendo Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 An astonishing statue and soe brilliant details right under the roof , this has to be the best use of the trident that I 've ever seen ! All in all an epic creation . I may try something in ancient Greece too !<div><br></div><div>maker</div> Quote
prateek Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Wow! My favourite detail is the statues as pillars on the temple, and nice Greek figs you've got. I think this MOC would benefit with the new 2x2 rounds with ridges in the 2011 Atlantis sets Quote
lego-maniac Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 This moc is very very nice. I'm waiting for the final pics for a looooog time ! Really like how you put minifig in action on all your moc ! Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Very realistic! The buildings are all great. I especially like the Temple. Nice work. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Great stuff, 74loloutte! he buildings are lovely, especially the temple with the karyatid (?) columns. I love the positioning of the figures too, it really creates the sense of a bustling little community. The hairpieces you've chosen look spot on for an Ancient Greek setting, I especially like your use of the Qui-Gon and Bellatrix hair. Nice work loloutte, keep it up. Quote
joeygunns Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 WOW! what a beautiful piece of art!!! well done!! Quote
fff Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I think I see a very nice & curious tribute to Rodin... am i right? Quote
indyman09 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Wow, stunning creation. It's so detailed, I love the stone figs used as collums. Quote
R5-N2 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Great MOC... The statue is really well done Quote
pif500 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 very nice work I love the statues and the figs Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Wow, this is truly spectacular! I love the action in this! The statue is really well done, and the buildings are great, especially the temple! Keep it up! CF Quote
Apache Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Awesome! I've been waiting for a moc like this since the Spartans came out. Nice use of the new hairpieces too. My favorite fig is the slave driver in the magesto blue with his brickbuilt shoes, spartan hair and vampire hair. Just fantastic! Quote
