Solscud007 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I thought this was a carpet at first. It is minifigs standing and making a mosaic of the Lego logo Quote
Churchill Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Wow, I agree- way too much time and minfigs. But since it wan't my time, I'm glad someone did it so we can enjoy it. That's amazing. I'd like to see more pics. Quote
Zorbas Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Click and Click. From The official photo thread of the Eurobricks 2010 Event in Billund. I thought this was a carpet at first. That was my first reaction too. Quote
Jargo Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 A big Lego logo rug would be fantastic. Thick tufty shagpile. Mmmmmmm...... Amazing creation though. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 There's also one of these at the LEGO store at Rockefeller Center in NYC. Not sure how the size compares to the one in Billund. Quote
buddy Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 This is amazing, both the size of it and the amount of minifigs used in it are astonishing. ~buddy~ Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I remember seeing this before... doesn't one hang in the entry area to the product design department in Billund? Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 There's also one of these at the LEGO store at Rockefeller Center in NYC. Not sure how the size compares to the one in Billund. At least two, last time I was there. Quote
Big Cam Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Um, wow is all I can say. That's ridiculous. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 That's really incredible, Wow! Lots of patience (and minifigs of course) by whoever did that. Quote
prateek Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 That's really incredible, Wow! Lots of patience (and minifigs of course) by whoever did that. This is at Lego HQ in Billund, so whoever made this was paid, and had all the minifigs in the world to his/her disposal. Still, none of that takes away from the pure awesomeness! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Um, wow is all I can say. That's ridiculous. So, a Lego logo made out of bricks, or plates or tiles or 1x1 rounds wouldn't be? That looks really cool, I bet it looks even better in person. I knew there was one in Billund from the 2010 meetup pictures. Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 It is really cool to see in person. I didn't even realize what it actually was until I was right up next to it, because you have to see it from the side to recognize what's going on. Also, the ones in the Rockefeller Center don't look as large and filled-in as the Billund one does, so I'm sure it's an impressive sight. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 So, a Lego logo made out of bricks, or plates or tiles or 1x1 rounds wouldn't be? Oh, the LEGO logo made out of bricks, plates or tiles would be very impressive indeed. But using thousands of minifigs just has a certain style. Plus the fact that it has to be larger to incorporate minifigs as opposed to 1 x 1 plates. And we all know how much more expensive minifigs are compared to 2 x 4 bricks or 1 x 1 plates. Don't think that isn't in everyone's subconscious. Quote
Enpaz Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Just imagine stepping on that carpet and walking around on it a bit back and forth! Hear the Lego breaking and cracking and bursting in your mind... Edited December 16, 2010 by Enpaz Quote
yumiyoshi Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Just imagine stepping on that carpet and walking around on it a bit back and forth! Hear the Lego breaking and cracking and bursting in your mind... That's a very elegant torture, sir. Gotta admit that the Logo would be perfect on that white empty wall of mine.... can't imagine how fun must be dusting it :D Quote
KimT Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 This is the one at the factory in Billund: More pics here Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 That's the one I remember. I think it was in the video of the interview with the head of design for Star Wars, the one where everyone went rabid after zooming in and seeing blurry Hoth BPs in the background. Quote
