Hi there melbs. Thanks to both you and AussieJimbo for your inspiration and photos in this thread. I would love to motorise my 8404 as well and I think I like your setup better, as I'd like to try and keep the original length of my tram. As I was looking at your pictures, I was wondering which wire goes where?

TIA!!

like a normal pf train, from motor one wire to IR receiver and one wire to battery, light connected to 2nd channel in IR receiver to separately control light brightness with right wheel and the left wheel the speed of the train. Edited by melbs

My tram from set 8404 has been stored in a box and never been used because you can´t run it.

When I recently read this topic, I was so much inspired that I decided to modify my tram as well, however with a 9V engine.

In contrast to the PF modification, it doesn´t occupy any space inside - it actually adds another 6 passenger seats. And the engine is (almost) invisible.

Hi Haddock.

Can you explain how did you do it with 9v tracks?

I'm intrested in powering my tram but PF are taking space and I wanna customize my tram from 2 tram I'll make one, hopefully. :)

Regards

Goran
