Kung Fu Squiddie

Final Rounds Fatality

Fighters from all around travel to compete in the ultimate fighting tournament overseen by Grand Master Squiddie. His Dojo sits atop the frozen horizon of a far off land. The trek alone is treacherous and all who make it know they may not survive the tournament either! All attempting to win favour with Grandmaster Squiddie or even usurping his leadership.

Flickr Set.

Thanks for looking.

Great work ISC,

I had already seen it on flickr but such a nice creation deserves some more comment.

What I really like are the walls, and how you build them, the dark red gate looks also really well done.

The gong is also a clever build, which I really like. :classic:

The figures look really nice with those yellow studs representing bare feet, but as this is posted in sci-fi I think it could use a couple more aliens, because without Grand Master Squiddie it doesn't look very sci-fi. :alien:

the Inventor

Thanks Inventor, glad you approve, I may yet take some more pics with some actual squiddie action when he busts out the moves!

The tape on the leg wouldn't be my choice, but it does look very cool.

Cheers mate, its all legit LEGO. I cut the edges off some sticker sheets from some old waterski set. :classic:

Wow that's gorgeous. I love the cleanness of the build. levitating Squiddie is cool. I've saved that first pic to serve as inspiration for my own city dojo. I could never build anything as magnificent so no fear of me copying.

Wow, as in totally Wow! Simply a fantastic creation ISC! Lots of things to fall in love with in this build, I don't even know where to start.

First, you really captured perfectly how a Kung Fu Dojo should look like in Lego, and you achieved it through a purist approach without resorting to printed elements and/or stickers to convey the oriental elements of this structure. The details are simply what I would expect to see in a real Dojo.

Then, the brickbuilt fight pose of those two martial artists are very ingeniously done, it couldn't have been done better. Very clever and effective. Perfect use also of the proper facial expression. Even the background minifigs are all nicely customized.

Overall, just a brilliant MOC which has been a pleasure to look at. Again, impressive work, my hats off to you Sir!

Another brilliant MOC I Scream Clone . You have captured the scene fantasticly . You have used some fantastic techniques like the sticker sheets. Great work.

Thanks, CB

Great! I really like how you made Squiddie levitate in air and how you made the figures' legs. NIce job. :classic:

Thats a very nice design. *huh* How did you keep the cheese slopes together?

Marvelous! I really admire the cleanness of this piece, it is not overdone, nor plain and simple. The premise is quite amusing too, and I must Lol at the prospect of Squiddie doing kung-fu! (well, he can outrun a space police raptor on foot, so there's no questioning his leg strength. ) the human figs are great too, and the kung-fu poses are top-notch too! Might I ask how you managed to make the black warrior's legs attach to him?

No Problem, I took the clear edge of a sticker sheet and cut thin strips off. These were then placed on the back of the legs onto the torso and one on top. So its all purist LEGO

Very nice as usual. The poses are great, and I love the SNOT floor and walls. All that gold really seals the deal for me

All Dojo'ed out now I think!

Great new poses, and I love how you used the windshields as a force

This creation is awesome - great detailing, subdued but well thought-out color scheme, and some hilarious figure designs. I have to ask though... what exactly gave you the idea to use Squidman instead of a normal ninja master?

There is a Squiddie 16+ Group on Flickr who are trying to give Squiddie more exposure out there, so I decided to have a crack with the Dojo and Grandmaster Squiddie.

Ah, cool. Little ol' P. Squiddy does deserve more attention, methinks, as do the rest of the Space Police III aliens. They really are brilliant figures for the most part, and it's nice to see that at least some AFOLs are embracing them.

Beautiful MOC ISC!! The design of the room is excellent and the creative technique for the fighters is just eye candy. A very wild and inspired creation!
