August 30, 201113 yr Well, I got my two beefeaters today :D I also got a gladiator, who I didn't care for but actually looks pretty nice in person. I also got a second Lumberjack, but since he is my favourite behind the Lizard Man, I won't complain! Now I just need to get the Zoo Keeper and Gangster :D Maybe two for his awesome suit...
August 30, 201113 yr I got my first 8, zookeeper, boxer, Eskimo, gangster, clown, lumberjack, snowboarder and graduate. Feeling-the-bag is definatly easier than the dot codes.
August 30, 201113 yr Feeling-the-bag is definatly easier than the dot codes. I would agree. Is it just me or is the dino gut a hard one to find I looked through the end of the isle (not in the lego isle for some reson) racks at Wal mart and found 1 and about 6 or 7 Gladiators. I got 4 of them along with a boxer, Cave girl, Gangster and Dino guy. I also have a Detective, Royal Gaurd Eskimo and Egyptian Queen from Toysrus.
August 30, 201113 yr I'm trying not to just dive into buying these but...it...is...so...hard! Edited August 30, 201113 yr by Ogre
August 31, 201113 yr Found some at my local (US) Walmart... which is weird because our Walmart has a piddly LEGO selection. The results were surprising. The distribution of the endcap boxes is very different than the counter boxes. I cherry-picked what I think was every beefeater in the display. I ended up with 7 rather than my expected 5... There appear to be significantly different distributions in the endcap boxes. If you're aiming to army build a bit, keep your eyes out for the endcaps. AND if anyone is looking to drop serious coin, why not buy up one of those endcap displays and let us know what the distribution shakes out to? I'll keep cherry-picking my shako'd army. ;-)
August 31, 201113 yr I just visited my local LEGO store, on hunt for the lizard man. I picked up four packs at random, as I didn't want to bother the cashier with the feel-test. But instead of just picking four he asked, 'which fig do you want, let's hunt it'. After 15 bags I got what I wanted. That's what we call service! I also picked up another snowboarder and monkey-lady, all €1,85 each! Edited August 31, 201113 yr by kciR

At my TRU I was feeling them the other day and the cashier and I got in a long winded discussion about Dots the touch and feel method. I was only there for about 5 min because some of these are so easy to identify like the beefeater.
August 31, 201113 yr Here's my innocent-looking dwarf, beardless. MyFlickr I'm pumped to get some of those guys. Unfortunately they still aren't at any of the stores in my town, which is surprising since it is a major metropolitan area.

September 2, 201113 yr Okay, I hate to nit-pick folks but...he ain't a "Beefeater"! That is all. Welsh Guard?
September 2, 201113 yr I didn't know what a beefeater was. I still don't in fact. I assumed the title royal guard would be sufficient.

September 2, 201113 yr I didn't know what a beefeater was. I still don't in fact. I assumed the title royal guard would be sufficient. Royal Guard is definitely sufficient... TLG calls them Royal Guard.
September 2, 201113 yr This time, Italy is in the happy part of the world where Series 5 will cost 1,99 just like series 1, 2, 3 and 4. Price seems to be the same in France (Metropolitan), and even cheaper in Spain and Portugal (1,95), while most every other European country shows a price of 2,49 x fig. Now, let's just wait for them to show up in shops.
September 2, 201113 yr I noticed the prices per fig here in Belgium rised a bit too. From €1,95 to €2,15 that is 20ct per fig And that's why my wife could/want to buy only 7 she could almost have bought 8 or more when they are cheaper in price. Why did the prices rise? Is TLG needing money for this SuperHeroes project? And still it's Chinese LEGO so not even the true high quality. So why the rise in price... ??? It is the demand (and it is certainly retailers raising the price). I tell you, in here the series 4 figures are at the same cost as the series 1 and 2 were. I think series 5 will keep that price. The quality of the figures has not improved or anything since series 1 so it is certainly not that.
September 3, 201113 yr I found series 5 today, 1,80 each (like the previuos series). I bought 21 and found 14 different (missing snowboarder and lumberjack). It's not that easy to feel what's inside. I didn't think I got the hitman and the graduate, while I was quite sure I did NOT get the snowboarder.
September 4, 201113 yr How can you miss that huge snowboard? I get a 100% score by feeling, the dots confuse me.
September 4, 201113 yr How can you miss that huge snowboard? I get a 100% score by feeling, the dots confuse me. Not only that but, they're so hard to discern sometimes that it's just FASTER to 'grope' the bags. I can usually identify three to five figs 'by feel' in the amount of time it takes me to figure out ONE dot pattern.
