March 6, 201113 yr brickipedia sayed that series 5 maybe the last one is. do you think it's true I heard that too. I don't know if it's true, but I certainly hope not. They're such a great (and cheap) way to get excellent new moulds and prints, and are so good to use in MOC's. I don't know why TLG would stop at 5, either, because they sell like crazy, and everyone loves them.

I think it isn't true, because a lot of people buy them. let's hope it isn't true
March 6, 201113 yr [...] I couldn't agree more about the weapons. I just wished the mobster would have a better gun, not a six-shooter. I mean, they did them before, and I would even prefer a batman Tommy gun for the pistol. But nonetheless, a great series, which has none of the "also-ran" figs like the diver, the dummy, the ring master the race car driver, and so on. I think almost every fig (except for the fitness trainer girl) will be well-liked by a large audience (not that those figs are bad, I really like my dummy, and as you said, the racers hair is nice, but I think many agree that some figs are much more unique and outstanding.
March 6, 201113 yr brickipedia sayed that series 5 maybe the last one is. do you think it's true Well we sort of have evidence about that but its not much and its not really enough to tell us if this is the last series. You see for series 1 and 2 they were both held in one year. Then series 3, 4, AND 5 are all in one year. I predict if there was to be more they would divide it into 2 years in a row but since 5 is an odd number, they had to cram 3 series into one year. Thats not exactly a whole lot of information but it does tell us something so that leaves us with a bit of evidence. P.S. I think I might have named every minifig weapon ever made by LEGO in my last reply . Edited March 6, 201113 yr by Bricker
March 7, 201113 yr What sources are there, exactly, that says Series 5 will be the last? Brickipedia doesn't list any.
March 7, 201113 yr I thought it was clear from the beginning that TLG was planning five series, I thought that was well known news from last spring. As far as how many sets they sell in a year... the problem last year is they didn't start until June, so it doesn't work out that well for them to sell three sets last year and keep a decent amount of time between releases. If they did every three months (January 1 - April -1) they should be able to do four sets a year. If they did every four months (September 1 - January 1) it would be three. But now 5 won't be until August? Did I get that right? That's four months again... I personally can't get enough and hope TLG has had enough success that they continue releasing them, and if they do that then maybe they'll have a much more regulated release schedule (every three or four months). On the other hand, I don't know how much they can do and still continue the popularity. I think people will grow tired of trying to keep up their collections.

I think I might have named every minifig weapon ever made by LEGO in my last reply . What? That doesn't make sense to me at all. Series 1 and 2 were released in half a year: the official release date for Series 1 was July (I think) and the release date for Series 2 was October. This year, Series 3 was released in January, Series 4 will be released in April, and Series 5 is set to be released in September (of course, as always with LEGO sets some places release them before the "stated" release date). How is it "cramming" to include three series into a 12-month span rather than two series in a 6-month span? If anything, LEGO's releasing fewer series this year than in the past, hinting that they may be planning to spread the theme's release dates out more and not release a sixth until 2012. Anyway, information from a wiki without any more authoritative sources is pretty meaningless. I'm not saying information on wikis isn't any good, but to get on the wiki in the first place it has to come from somewhere. And if nobody can name where it comes from, even the person who added it to the wiki, it could have come from anywhere-- even just out of somebody's imagination.

March 7, 201113 yr Definitely want the small clown, and the guy in lizard suit, maybe the workout girl, and zookeeper.
March 7, 201113 yr At the guy who posted that 2 page essay on the lego weapons, the pitchfork already exists. I can't tell if the new one is any different tho. was hoping to find more corrections but couldn't imagine finishing reading that. I hope series 5 isn't the last series, but maybe they'll do something like they do with the pirate sets. Discontinue them for a while and every couple of years bring them back. Although I can kinda see why they would want to quit after 5. To me they're losing their novelty. Having all 3 series myself, I find it very hard to display them all and can't imagine what I'm gonna do with 32 more. Furthermore I think I now have more china made figures than original lego figs! I know there's always an ongoing debate about whether the quality is any different, well I can notice it, especially the dull yellow color. I used to imagine series 1 as a supplement to my minifig collection, I could add a couple CMFs to what ever theme they fit best, but now they have grown in such numbers that they pretty much have BECOME my minifig collection. So as much as I would like more, because I get very addicted to them, I would like them to slow down, even two series a year but with more availability. Edited March 7, 201113 yr by yys4u
March 7, 201113 yr As I think, I could never have enough minifigs and there belongings, that will include: head, torso, legg, hat/helmet/hair and any other accessoire. To mix and match where ever they are made or at what quality they will be made. Aslong as no part fall of I'm happy with any minifig.
March 7, 201113 yr I think they should finish at series six and have 20 figures instead of 16 to round the number up to 100 total. If these finish at series 5 then it's a good solid series to end with. My own purchase stats will look like this at series 5: S1=5 bought S2=8 bought S3=8 bought S4=9 bought S5=12 bought which doesn't include multiples but illustrates which of the series appeals most to me. By the time I'm done I'll probably have bought around eighty of these figures. I didn't intend to buy any at the start. Perhaps a few parts if they were ok. And I'm under no compulsion to complete the collection. Some of the figures Like the clowns and space figures, western, fantasy medieval, I haven't really wanted. The standout weirdest have been the crash test dummy and gnome. Out of every figure the fisherman, hazmat suit guy and skater dude MKII are the best in my humble opinion..
March 7, 201113 yr For me I have atleast all minifigs per serie. And I hope TLG won't stop after series 5. @Btd: I wish they could make a 20 minifig serie but then they must add more in each box or some figures would be too hard to find and so way to rare. And TLG would never likely do this since each serie got filler figs already. They should make some very exclusive minifigs with parts never else to be found and add those to the 16 in each serie (to make them 20 just for serie 6 and stop making the Collectable Minifigures for a while, untill 2012). Edited March 7, 201113 yr by Ro87n
March 7, 201113 yr if they do make them 20 in the next series than they could have only three of each in a box and have an even amount of them, but i don't think that will happen.
March 7, 201113 yr YES can not wait for this lot! i want that Grenider soilder so badly!!!! and coming out in may, i will get these for my birthday! :D
March 7, 201113 yr YES can not wait for this lot! i want that Grenider soilder so badly!!!! and coming out in may, i will get these for my birthday! :D In MAY? Did I miss something? The first post says they come out in august, and if they would bring them out in may, they would have to do two series in two months. I must say I'm perfectly fine with the 16 minifig series so far. If they would make more figs, I would have to remember more codes, and I would spent more money on each series, and the chance to fail getting the right once would be higher and so on. Although it's just fours figs, but I'm still happy with 16.

First of all the names Bricker... try to remember that please, Ill get my picture up soon when I feel like going on Brick Link and ordering the peices for my minifig then taking pictures of it, then posting it... any way the pitch fork IS in fact a new peice. Look at the finalized pictures for Alien Conquest (it was updated on the first post). The pitchfork is clearly shown to be new, besides police might arrest you if they see you walking around with a trident... yeah sorry not very funny is it? Ive never been much of a joker, we can all understand why now... any way yes the pitchfork is a new mold. Sorry I had so many off- topic things on right here. Edited March 7, 201113 yr by Bricker

Sorry to disappoint but they're not due until September. Series 4 will have only been out for around a month so S5 definately won't be released the following month

The pitchfork is clearly shown to be new, besides police might arrest you if they see you walking around with a trident... In fact the pitchfork predates the trident piece by decades. It was used in a few Castle sets in the 80s and hasn't been seen since. Before this year's upcoming renaissance, of course.
March 8, 201113 yr finnaly a roman looking sword to give my spartan. Awesome new gladiator helmet, I hope the violin case the mafia guy has has a gun inside. It seems like minifigure series are a good way to build armies. Spartan, elf, samuri, space criminals, zombies, and now gladiators grenadiers and mafia. Hope they make many more series
March 8, 201113 yr Mmm, I'm quite lucky to own three of the pitchfork piece. I bought one and the other two came to via a charity shop mixed bag of parts and aa box of parts my friend gave me from his parents loft clear out. Of course the alien conquest one will probably be reddish brown not old brown so there'll be a slight difference. Just to add something related to the topic, are there any actual new pieces in this theme or just new colours? Edited March 8, 201113 yr by Brickenhead-town-dweller

Of course the alien conquest one will probably be reddish brown not old brown so there'll be a slight difference. Just to add something related to the topic, are there any actual new pieces in this theme or just new colours? You mean in this series, or in the collectible minifigures in general? In the collectible minifigures, there are countless new pieces, but in Series 5 I can name several specific new pieces: for instance, the lumberjack's axe, the graduate's hat and gown, the boxer's gloves and helmet, the ice fisherman's hood, the small clown's pie, Cleopatra's hair, the British royal guard's hat, the cave girl's hair, etc. The only new color in this particular series (at least, the only obvious one) is 325, the light lavender color used for the fitness trainer's boom box.
March 8, 201113 yr ugh, sorry, mental aberration on my last post. I meant the edit for the alien conquest thread not this one. My mind was all over the place this morning. Just ignore that comment.
March 14, 201113 yr Has the colour of the bags been confirmed? At first we say purple, then a darker blue than S2. and not a lighter blue than S2. The reason I want to know is I order 16X16 baseplates that match the bag colour to hold each Series and I'm working on orange from S4 and hoping I can be sure about S5. I Do hope that it's a light blue because there is not purple or dark blue baseplates.
