Based on the pictures, the dancer with the boom box appears to have the same hair (same color) as the S2 pop star.

Looking at the pictures, I really like the gangster (for the instrument case and suit torso), the lumberjack (for the axe, baseball cap and torso), the student (for the printed tile, mortarboard, gown and torso) and snowboarder (for the snowboard and torso). The torso on the zookeeper, the hair on the Egyptian queen and the clown pie are also great.

I'm actually looking forward to Series 5 because my wallet desperately needs a rest after Series 4. There really isn't anything in Series 5 which I would want to amass in large numbers. After dumping a small fortune on Cheerleaders, Spartans, Forestmen, Elves and Musketeers I'm really looking to stop this addiction. If series 6 actually has any castle related (not fantasy) figures, I'm probably doomed. Collecting these guys is just too much fun  .

Agreed, especially when you do it with a friend who shares your love of Legos.:laugh:

Thank you r4-g9 for sharing these images with us. I believed this is the first time that we have seen in this format in much better clarity.

First post is now updated!

Series 5 looks as great as any other previous series.

Nice pictures.

Nice to see the gladiator type guy has arm printing but I wonder what of?

All look great in this series.

Its a printing of his arm armour. While most gladiators didn't have much armour, I think it is a great addition.

It's arm armour, like this:

It's cool to see the lumberjack with arm printing too, but I'm more excited for the gladiator.

This looks like the best series IMO, I will actually try and get some of these. The mobster, gladiator, and boxer are pretty neat, but every one of them are really neat. Even the aerobics person isn't bad. Good job, TLG

These just keep getting better and better. Series 4 was amazing, and this is simply astounding! I really love that gladiator armor, lumberjack axe, monkey, etc!

A real looking axe and a real looking monkey.....just don't give the axe to the monkey !

I wonder if there is a violin in the violin case or is there room for some else....like some heat ! (heat means gun)

Can't wait for these figures, in all they are getting better each release.

Brick On and keep on collecting !

Ooh, high-res images! :classic:

Not too much seems to have changed since when I last saw them. That monkey is great, though, and the gladiator is still brilliant, as before. I've also noticed some arm printing on the lumberjack and gladiator (the gladiator seems to have one printed arm only, which is accurate). The gladiator also seems to have a new sword mould.

Excitement.

Pics look great!...random thoughts....Now that I see that there are boxing gloves...I'm hoping LEGO makes baseball mitts for the Baseball Player minifig.

I wonder if the Gangster's case opens.

Wish Sherlock Holmes had a jacket and pipe accessory to go along with the magnifying glass.

Is the Dwarf's shield a new print?

Gladiator, Godzilla Suit Guy are my favs. And the Midget Clown w/pie is fun too!

The Graduation fig. would be fun to give to as presents to matriculating members of our society.

Seeing these new pics they’re looking much better. Beside this, there is no No#1 figure in this series – like it was the elf or the crazy scientist for me – which is much more desirable than the others (there are better and not so good figures in it though). First I thought this is bad, because there is no figure I van be enthusiastic about. But know I think it’s good, because:

In the first 4 series, there were always at lest 2 figures I wanted by all means, and 7-8 other I liked. In the first 2 series when the barcodes gave me 100% accuracy I could buy these minifigs without any problem.

In series 3, when the dotcodes and feeling the bag is much more difficult to me (maybe I am too clumsy the feel the bag, or to impatient to have time practicing) I just bought some bags and hoped to be different, and to have my favorites. Some case I managed, some case not, but I could trade with others to have my favs, and I liked to other random figs as well (there is no such thing, as bad minifig). And the time, when I already have some figs, but not all the best figs yet is a little bit annoying. After that, I could by anything without any pressure missing the best figs, worst case I just have some duplicates.

The 4th series is ahead of me (not yet in Hungary) so I can just hope to get my goodies.

But in the 5th series, if I get 3 or 4 of the best figures (none of them is a must-to-have) and some other figs, I will be happy. Buying an unknown minifig is fun, IF you don’t want any of them desperately!

Great to finally see clearer images for Series 5! Generally this series doesn't have the initial 'Wow factor' of Series 4, but upon closer look it does offer a lot of new interesting pieces, particularly the axe, small monkey, pie, and violin case. The Top 3 figs for me here are the Boxer, Axe guy, and the British Royal Guard.

I believe I've already seen these in some dim video, but I haven't seen such clear pictures yet.

Things I like the most are the guard with his brown musket, the boxer with gloves and the clown with his cake.

But actually I like them all :classic: Thanks for sharing these pic's.

the monkey has a PRINTED FACE?!?!?!?! EEEEE!!!

Chimpanzee! And yes, it has a printed face; we've seen one or two images somewhere that showed that before, but it's still cool.

Pics look great!...random thoughts....Now that I see that there are boxing gloves...I'm hoping LEGO makes baseball mitts for the Baseball Player minifig.

I hope they do a second ballplayer (from another team) sometime, and give that one a mitt. That way one can easily stage games between two teams, each fully equipped at any given time (since one could put the mitts on whichever team is on the field, and one needs just one bat for the batting team).

I wonder if the Gangster's case opens.

I have to assume it does - I mean, they could mold it as a solid lump, which would use a lot more plastic, or save on materials costs by making it hollow, and if it's hollow they might as well do it as two halves on a hinge, like the regular minifigure suitcases. But we'll see...

Wish Sherlock Holmes had a jacket and pipe accessory to go along with the magnifying glass.

Indeed... though good luck getting TLG to produce anything smoking-related (and understandably so, given the target audience)!

Is the Dwarf's shield a new print?

I was just noticing that! That's the most significant new thing I've noticed from these clearer, higher-res images. It looks awesome!
