Will the prices of discontinued sets like Batman, and Spongebob rise or fall? I am concerned because prices are already high and I want to wait for a lower price, but will that ever happen?

I'm pretty sure the longer you wait, the higher the price will get.

This is almost a rhetorical question.

The price of something depends directly to the supply and demand. The supply is obvioulsy dwindling, and the demand is too, but probably not as fast as the supply. The longer something is out of production, the more it will be worth in almost every single case.

Except perhaps Gallidor. Those sets can be found for a song.

Geki Brick, do you mean "recently discontinued" items you can hope for a discount for during a clearance sale or sets that could hardly be found in stores anymore?

At any rate, it's generally clever not to buy a set too soon after its release or in a regular toystore (at MSRP) because you can usually find them much cheaper. Amazon, I love you! I do have to admit it's a great feeling to carry a set home rather than having it delivered to your house. :P

Usually, greed prevails :hmpf_bad: .

Depends on the time frame and the set in question, I'm not sure I've ever paid more than the early 90's price for a Space set (apart from my monorails) and considering inflation they've clearly gone down in price. However if it's a rare one like the Renegade then you'll have to pay more so I guess what I'm saying is what do you think people will think of the set in the long run if you think it's a rare classic it will only go up if you think it's a fad that'll fade it'll go down.
