arnoldtblumberg Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 August seems like the best bet because of BrickFair. I am hoping for a bank, but without word from TLC, all we can do is wait. A pet shop does not sound right because the Modulars don't have new molds, The only animals it could have are cats, dogs, or snakes. Wmanidi Well they're also introducing chickens and goats in the new medieval sets...but those aren't exactly popular pet shop animals. :) A rat/mouse? Froggies? Some brick-built birds? Owls (Harry Potter)?

arnoldtblumberg Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 There is also the parrot piece and various fish elements (although their suitability for pet shop fish is debatable) And we've also got pigs - again, maybe not major pet shop material - and if they really want to get ambitious, a shop that sells cows and horses! :D

spectre4188 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I think it's very unlikely it will be a pet shop. There's just not many domestic LEGO animals.. I'd be VERY disappointed if my modular pet shop came with a polar bear or a crocodile

I'd be VERY disappointed if my modular pet shop came with a polar bear or a crocodile I think I'd respect them even more if it did! :D And let's not forget monkeys, scorpions, and spiders!

Except for the guinea pigs and fish all of those exist in usable forms, some in a few variations. You could probably add monkeys, since _some_ people have had stranger pets.
snaillad Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Diagon Alley was set no 10217, images came out a couple of months before release. Maersk train set is 10219 according to brickset, would have thought it would be due out soon. Does that mean the 'petshop - 10218' is an earlier release than summer, or there is another exclusive inbetween and this set number may be wrong?
Rick Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Does that mean the 'petshop - 10218' is an earlier release than summer, or there is another exclusive inbetween and this set number may be wrong? Because 'normally' the annual modular building is released in March, I consider it most likely that the release date was pushed back after the set numbers were decided (I recall it happening before with exclusives that sets were not released in the exact order of their set number).
Stash2Sixx Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 From what I have heard, it looks awesome! Sit tight all, just a few more months.
Rapseflaps Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Or are we trying to read too much into the designer's mind? Yes.
Mrcool1804 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 From what I have heard, it looks awesome! Sit tight all, just a few more months. What else have you heard? And from who?
jonwil Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 The current rabbit piece is too big compared to other animals like the cat and dog. I would like to see TLG produce a new rabbit piece comparable in size to the current rat element (something the right size to fit with the top hat for my magic show would be ideal) They might put snakes in the pet shop (lots of people have snakes as pets)
Gregorovich Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 So is the next modular definetely a petshop? When will we get some news?
David Thomsen Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 i would guess LEGO World in Copenhagen 17th to 20th of february 2011. Something special are going to happend saturday 19th of february 2011 from 10 to closingtime, after my sources. That's been, hasn't it? When's the next likely event for them to unveil the pet shop at?

Paul Lanski Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I still don't think it's going to be a pet shop...
Mr Hobbles Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 My money's on Brickworld Indy. TLG usually has a fair strong showing there, and it's big enough for them to want to reveal a new product there. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I believe they've unveiled exclusives there before.
AllanSmith Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I still don't think it's going to be a pet shop... It is a Pet Shop as I stated earlier. I have seen the LEGO order form that shops fill out for all 2011 sets.

That would be sweet as it's only a few weeks away. But, I think that is unlikely as it looks to be a fall release.
Paul Lanski Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 whatever the case may be, the wait is really killing me.. !!!
thewatchman Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 regardless of the order forms i seriously doubt the petshop being a big part of the kit, i cannot in any way comprehend how a decent pet shop could be made to minifig scale, that said, im very excited to see it. i get the feeling it will be a case of lower floor petshop upper floor residential...
lightningtiger Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I agree totally, pet shop downstairs, living areas up stairs, just like the green grocer. Lego may just spring it on us, not even at any show....so lets keep on waiting then eh ?
ChefAgf Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 The wait is killing me aswell.. Luckily i had broken down all other modular buildings and put them all together in a box including the grand carroussel. So thats about 12000-13000 pieces in one box.. I hope i am finished rebuilding before the Pet shop or whatever it is gonna be. I just want to have it :)
Santhor Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I'm surprised that Lego Shop@Home doesn't have it already, with a "Coming soon, on (March 1st?)". It must be good, seeing as it's such a secret. Maybe it's double-sized? THAT would be grandiose. -Santhor
