Huffy1968 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Hi Everyone! If you recognise the name, then you might know me from the FBTB forums. In the real world I'm called Shaun, I'm 37 and I live in Staffordshire in the West Midlands of Merrie Olde Englande. My first Lego set was the 605 Taxi set from 1971. Of course my love affair with Lego has never really gone away, despite getting rid of several suitcases full the stuff in my teens... But I came back at Christmas 2003, when my girlfriend (now my wife *wub* ) bought me the 4489 MINI AT-AT set as a "joke" present. Little did she realise the monster that she unleashed... I bought all the Star Wars MINIs, then made a start on the System sets... But recently things have changed. I now have a son, Callum, a delightful little boy of nearly nine months. With childcare costs etc, I've had to scale down my Lego habit a bit, and in fact had to get rid of several of my larger sets - my Sandcrawler, 4504 Falcon, and, probably to my eternal regret, my 4483 AT-AT - which at least made a profit on, but that's not the point... Anyway, my remit now is any set of 40 GBP or under - and as a result I am finding there's lots more to buy and enjoy than just SW Lego. I have the 4884 Wild Hunters Creator set (the lion is fantastic), which UK S@H has at half price, and a couple of Exo Force sets (7700 & 7701) - I only intend to collect the human mechs though, I find the robot ones a bit ugly. But there is a lot to collect, a lot to talk about, so I thought I would say hello, and sorry for rambling! *sweet* Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Welcome to our friendly board Huffy1968 ;-) I'm sorry for your "loss" of bigger SW sets (especially the Falcon and AT-AT), but that is nothing at all compared to the joy of a son :'-) I'm sure you will rnjoy your time with us ;-) See you soon aboard !! *yoda* Quote

Aye, if there is one greater joy than building with Lego, it will building it with my son - I can't wait... *sweet* But I'm going to make sure he has plenty of Duplo in the meantime of course... :-D Quote
