Sisco Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 For those of you who may not know or remember, Harry went to Godric's Hollow while he was on the run from Voldemort in the Seventh book. He found his parents' Graves, and a statue dedicated to him and his parents. Here is the Statue bit of Godric's hollow. The whole thing. The statue. I'm not completely happy with it, but I'm sure I'll fix it up before the deadline. Suggestions would be helpful here. Reference for the Statue. Enjoy! Quote
Izzy Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 This is a great scene! I was really disappointed that they didn't really have this part in the movie, even when they walked right by. But as this is based on the books anyhow it is irrelevant. Really good job on your MOC! I love the parts usage for the baby. If I'd change anything it would be to add some smaller white pieces, 1x1/1x2 plates, tiles, or slopes around the place to build the snow up gently. And put some older looking hair on James, so he is not confused with Harry for those who are not familiar with HP! Quote
Sisco Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions; I'll be getting some white bits to make the snow after Christmas, and the Hair I can definitely work out. Thanks! Quote
JimBee Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Good start so far, my only suggestion in addition to Iz's is to lower statue Lilly's arms and the baby so that we can see her face. Quote
Sisco Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Consider the current statue a stand-in; I'm definitely re-doing that bit. I'm really unsatisfied with the statue. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Very nice and unique entry cralegoboy! I'm liking it so far, the snowy surroundings really look accurate for a winter graveyard. Aside from what Iz and JB have mentioned, don't forget to add the lamp-post and some snow-laden trees in the background. Those would be nice additional details that will greatly improve your entry. Good job so far and looking forward on your finished product. Quote
RoryoCox Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 An imaginative entry, I wouldn't have thought about that. As said I would make Lilly more noticeable and change the white helmet to a white turban piece. Also, I would increase the height. What you have done so far is still very good though, but just small changes suggested before can really pay off. Quote
Vindice Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 A brilliant idea. After you've perfected it i definately think you will get some extra consideration for originality. Hope you do! Quote
Matn Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Nice entry. It looks very much like the picture you have posted (makes me think I really want the American books so I can look at those nice drawings). I like the snowy details, but more of that would have been nice. The baby inside that helmet is a great idea! Good luck in the contest. Quote
